Right now my son (Damien) is having a conversation with his invisible friend. I asked him his name, but was told that He didn't know what it was because his friend talked funny. (is Hard to understand, or perhaps speaking a different language) His friend has a family. Damien introduced his sister to him. The temperature in the room has dropped a bit, and Damien says his friend is here. He's trying to find out what his name is, but I don't think he understands him because he says its beep. Maybe a nickname of 'B' don't know, but I don't want to lead him too much. He's gone now I think because Damien is calling him asking where'd you go. Are you all right? I have something to say to you.
I can't understand you, why don't you talk like me? I can still hear you. What did you say. (He's showing him Christmas cards now) 'Beep' is commenting on them, but Damien doesn't understand because he keeps asking what did you say.
I'm mailing Christmas cards, (Listing names of friends)
Damien wants me to translate, but I told him I can't hear 'beep' right now. (blamed it on being sick.)
Damien never had an invisible friend until right now. It seems to be done for the moment.
(Well, I guess it's official, this is my journal of neat stuff the kids do/say. ) I ran over to the computer to type all of it rather than grabbing a pen.
I told my husband about this, and he thought maybe that the name was actually Pete. When he was 5 he had a spirit named Pete hanging around him. (We live in the same house, we are buying it from his parents, so if it's a local spirit, rather than a family one, it would be possible.) He also suggested that it might be his uncle Henry who died in this house when he was very young. (The house was built by my husbands grandfather, and their son Henry was left to play in the bathtub and turned the hot water on and left it running and ended up being scalded so severely he died.) And the reason he was speaking funny is that he was more fluent in French than English. He seems to remember someone saying that Henry had a nickname, but doesn't remember what it was.

There is no such thing as too many books. Too few bookcases can become a problem, however.
