My Story

Just Me
Hey everyone,

I'd like to share my story on what I believe may be, in fact reincarnation.

Everything really began about a month and a half ago. I started having odd dreams. Not, like extremely weird, but dreams of me being someone else. Dreams of me being in familiar places and around familiar people.

I think I may have once lived during World War II. I have always had a strong interest in that war. I have dreams of being at home (in my current city I live in) and being with friends and family. I remember in my dream that there was a point where I was with some girl (who I'm guessing I was dating) and she was crying because the next day I would be leavin' for the war. I don't have much dreams of actually being in the war. I just can recall holding a rifle and running down this tunnel. It was all concrete and there were dim lights on the ceiling.

It seemed like I was scared and in a hurry. I remember coming home and people were sad. This part of the dream is like, strange. I remember coming back and everything seemed to be different. At the end it's always me at a funeral and everyone leaves but me. I'm just standing there.

There is a lot more, but I will share once I have more information.

Reincarnation? Recurring dreams? What do ya make of it?

Peace and Love,
Sam

Hi Sam,

Here is a list of things to look for regarding past life dreams. They are different from other dreams in the following way:

* Contain historical information.

* Are unchanging in events and details.

* Are outside of our range of experiences in this life.

* Are highly emotional in content.

* The “you” in the dream is not who you are now. You can be a different gender or race.
I hope you share more with us.

In my dream I look somewhat similar. I mean, I'm a different person though. I can't explain it. But, thanks for the info!

Hi Sam! Welcome! ;)

I think it's very interesting - the feeling you describe of being "someone else" in your dream. I know it's hard to explain though - it is you, but not.

If you are interested in knowing more about what you may be experiencing, meditating can help. There are several techniques you can use - some are mentioned in this thread:

how can I learn about my past lives

Something that has been very important and helpful for me is writing things down - memories, thoughts, dreams... if you enjoy writing, it can be a wonderful experience!

I too hope you share more - your dreams feel very vivid and emotional!

I hope you enjoy being here! :)

I have another kind of problem...

Now, I'm having dreams and random, type of memories of being in different times now? First it was 40's (or so I'm assuming) and now I'm seein' 50's and 60's. I am reading and doin' a lot of research here...I still don't understand...

These newer dreams I'm always playing guitar and singing to people. I do currently play guitar and I love music.

Hi Sam.

What hit me in your dream is that if it is a past life maybe your scenario from that life went like this. You did actually go off to war.. You were killed , You returned to your own funeral as a spirit just visiting those you loved for the last time. .

I myself have not had memories of being around checking in alot of time after death , but I do remember being very aware of being dead and just a spirit and once a ghost. I had one memory of being in spirit and watching people { my now parents} embalming my body in a life in Egypt. I have heard and know of one woman who says they have had relatives visit some time after their death.

If this is so you could have had several lives.. maybe in reference to your dreams in the 40 ,50 and 60s. I myself had six lives between 1901 and 1944.. so we can come back quickly .

Hi Sam.

Remembering past lives just makes it easier to access how we really feel. Because we have lived many lives with different experiences, being different gender, and having different families, we develop particular aspects of our character each time.

We want to become whole as a person and so we may feel at one point in our spiritual developement that we need to integrate our feelings. It is like going back and reminscing and reflecting at a time of getting older ,like a mid-life crisis or a time when our children leave out homes

Did your dream bring any particular feelings to mind.? Can you describe how you felt when you awoke , or did you notice something that interested you in the days to follow the dream?? I would not worry right now about the content of the dream. This being your first , I would do some meditating . It can take a long time to figure these things out.. I have been at it for 15 years and things evolved as they needed..

Well...

I felt good, but at the same time really sad when I woke up. I don't know how else to describe it really. But, it doesn't feel like memories of different lives, it's like one big one. I don't know.

HI Sam,

I would try some quality time by yourself.. making a point of being secluded so as to try some meditating. Then when you feel quiet you can ask yourself if that feeling of sadness has anything to do with your past.. this life or another life. What happens in regression is you will get a flash of a feeling, some people get pictures or another perception pops up.

If this happens this means you have untapped a feeling that you have been blocking. You can ask yourself when this happened. I will get a feeling that I am a young person/ older person. Then I will ask what gender I am. As I get comfortable with my memory I will ask the more difficult questions as to who I am with if anyone, what is happening around me , and what exactly I am feeling and why..

Reading some of the books in the book file is also a good way to get an idea of how to approach it. I started reading Brian Weiss books , and Carol Bowman's book was riveting.

I have tried meditating and all of that. It has been working. The only thing that does not make sense is that all the dreams and memories are as one. As if I lived one huge life. In my WWII dreams I am young. During the 50's and 60's dreams I am young. I don't know who I was yet. But, I'm very confused. As if I forgot something very, very important.

That confused feeling may last for awhile, Sam.

That is a good thing as that means you are just being pulled towards making a good change. It is nothing to be afraid of. Just look at it that you are a great explorer going an a big journey and that say like Christopher Columbus , you are not sure yet what you are looking for.

Just remember you have others along with you on your journey and that the ending is going to be good and will help the whole world when you have finished the explorations..

Yeah, I understand kind of. But, taking everything I have learned on here and other research and looking at my experience...it seems different...

I do not know what your different means... like you never left

I relate to those words alot. Since having had my flashback I really wanted to be that person again== knowing the people I was with, the home I had, the same happiness i felt so comfortable with before the traumatic events --- but on the other hand I did not want the experiences of the trauma to relive again.

I felt like I wanted to be known as that person and was frustrated until I had a look at my feelings to see that I am happy being the person I am now..

It is an interesting journey to be sure..

I don't think that past life memories necessarily present themselves as having distinct lines of demarcation or boundaries. You may not know where one ends and another begins or you may know - eventually. You can however, figure out that not all memories could have logically happened in one time period. Time and patience in the present are the best tools for sorting that out.

I am a firm believer in sleeping on it. Your dream life will help you sort it out, but it may not be apparent to you until you think about what your dream life is telling you. The conscious mind is fully capable of understanding but it is something that must be thought about for a while. There is a lot going on in your mind that you are not aware of - it is working in the background trying to make sense of the confused feeling you are experiencing. I would think that your questions will have answers in time. Talking and reading about other people's experiences would be worthwhile in my opinion. It helps me to read what other member's have discovered about themselves.

When I was a small boy, I had a memory of drowning. I said to several people - children and adults - that I had drowned when my feet become entangled in some lines. I didn't make the distinction of when this event had occurred. After being chastised for saying such a thing, I realized that it hadn't happened in this lifetime. You may be experiencing the same thing - memories that are running concurrently in your mind and seem to be the same lifetime but may not be at all.

Thanks for all the replies and information. But, I do understand all of that, but I firmly believe that somehow it is all connected. I just had some very strange vision or whatever you people here call it. I was in the shower then as if I teleported to another location. I was still me. I know I was me. Some girl was crying and screamed and I turned and got hit by a car. I was still alive, but unconscious. Then, I don't remember anything else. After that I just remember...my life now.

Earlier tonight I was in our mall and I felt a very, very strong and familiar presence around me. I had met and locked eyes with a girl. She looked at me as if we knew each other, but we indeed did not know each other at all. Then, she reminded me of the girl in my dream or vision.

I mean, it was like she looked at me like she knew who I was, but I looked at her and had no idea who she was.

Interesting .. that feeling of wanting to be known as if you have been known before by someone. Like they could be a good friend right away. This has happened a fair amount to me. In your case it sort of sounds to me like since your feelings revovle around this young girl in the dream. You want/ need to remember something about that life as that girl . She needs to have a voice in order for you to get in touch with your feelings.

If we have had a life where some trauma or friction with someone/ something is unresolved then our feelings get locked into that past . We know on one level in our subcoscoius mind that we are drawn to those unresolved feelings and so we see this reflected in other people we meet now. By bringing the whole story to our conscious mind we can gain more confidence about ourselves.

It sounds to me ,Sam that you would benefit alot from a regression with a qualified person who is doing regression therapy work. Have you looked into who is in your neighbourhood ? Just make sure they have some training in therapy work . And it usually is some money but it is well worth the happiness it can bring.

Hi Sam,

Welcome to the forum. This can happen sometimes. Once you start thinking about these things and paying a bit more attention to them it can be like opening up the flood gates and all sorts of 'stuff' comes rushing out! Don't worry about it though. It's not harmful (as long as you don't get too carried away with it all). It is usually a helpful thing in your life. It usually settles down after a while. This is not usually a permanent predicament!

I too have had some interesting bathroom experiences! Others have too. (See posts 8, 9, & 10) I don't know why this is. Perhaps it is the presence of water, or because we tend to be in a relaxed, 'zoned out' state in the bathroom (or a bit of both)? :) Others get it while driving (not recommended for safety reasons!).

Perhaps you did not really know that particular girl in the mall from a past life, but perhaps, as you say, she reminded you in some way of someone you did know before - similar hairstyle, similar way about her.... or maybe it was her. Who knows? If it's important, you will run into her again, have no doubt. I have on occasion locked eyes with a total stranger and had a strange feeling that I have known them before. It happens!

Is there anything particularly stressful (especially of an emotional nature) going on in your present life? You don't have to reveal any personal or private secrets, but sometimes these things can be a catalyst. Have you recently met a new 'special' person for instance or moved to a new place? These types of things can sometimes be a trigger to memories.

Well, a lot of stressful things have happened recently. It's the end of the school year, I'm workin' like crazy. But, yeah you're all probably right.

It just feels as if...well, like I never died in my previous life. Well, not just that. It's like...I don't know how to describe it. But, I saw her again this morning. Like, she definitely knows me. I can tell. She looks at me like she knows who I am. I got that same kind of feeling when I went by the local theater. I got a familiar feeling.

It happens! Have you spoken to her? Perhaps you should? Maybe you could ask her for a coffee or something? I wouldn't necessarily get straight into the whole reincarnation thing right off the bat though. Get to know her a bit first and see if you like her and if she's a good person. Not everyone we have known before is a 'soul mate'. Sometimes they're not always good for us! But it's up to you of course!

More than once I have met someone I have known before and the meeting has been heralded by memories and dreams of them, which sounds weird, but that's how it works. I don't know why exactly. This has happened to others too.

The experience you had feeling like you know this woman... has happened to me.. I followed having this happen with doing regression work to see how I knew this person from before.. It often was that I had several lives with them.. brother then husband, sister then freinds.... etc...

Wow, that is interesting!

Well just a little update, nothing new has happened. I haven't talked to the girl and all my dreams are just the same over, and over.

Hi Sam

You make me curious - I agree with Tanguerra and Soulfriendly that what you talk of sounds pretty familiar to me too.

I won't highjack your thread with my own story - but here it is if you care to read it....

I also have remembered several lives with this man - and not all of them were peachy. That's - life I guess! :o

I know - this kind of thing can make you feel pretty strange sometimes.... I'm more at ease now - and I know a lot more too. But it took time - quite a lot of time!

Thanks for the update - and please share more if anything new turns up!

Yes Sam. It happens quite a lot!

The story of my friend X for example. Although he is an important person in my life, he is by no means the only person I have met that I have recognised from a previous life. There would be a dozen or so.

Indeed, meeting people you have 'known before' is very common. Destiny? Perhaps. :)

Take it easy. You'll be fine. (You should talk to her next time though)
