hello all in the forum and thank you for taking the time to read my post.
I am incredibly interested in this area, and have found the forum very interesting reading thus far. I felt compelled to join and ask a question that has been bothering me, even more intensely lately, and feel I need closure to move on.
Before I go into this, I just want to state that I am not a crazy person, and actually I've ignored this feeling/memory for a long time because I thought it was preposterous and embarassing. However, the intensity with which I feel it means I can ignore it no longer.
There was a celebrity I became aware of a few years ago. I just want to state that I was never a fan of this celebrity or his work, nor was I attracted to him in the traditional sense. I was, however, incredibly drawn to him for reasons I first could not fathom.
I felt like I knew him, I almost recognised his eyes the second I saw them. It's hard to explain. It was a feeling of being protected by seeing him, a feeling of safety and warmth and recognition, almost as if I was 'home'.
As I said, I ignored the feeling because I was embarassed - I never mentioned it to anyone and put it to the back of my mind, but it was still there whenever I accidentally came across this celebrity or his work (I actively refused to seek him out, again embarassed by this overwhelming feeling).
Sadly, this celebrity passed away. My reaction to this was actually terrifying to me. I burst into tears upon hearing, and felt grief similar to as if I had lost a lover or family member. I felt lost and out of control and couldn't fathom why I reacted to someone's death whom I didn't even know. I actually felt, and still feel, that he had been cruelly snatched from me, and was almost angry that I couldn't have helped him. It was very strange.
Well, again I found all of this weird and embarassing, so I ignored it, tried to bury it in my mind. But I find I can't let it go. I still feel sadness about it nearly everyday; I dream of him often, and I just feel this huge ache for him, I can almost feel his arms around me if I allow myself to be taken away by these feelings and let them flow freely.
Recently I have accepted these feelings more and more, and have thought perhaps some of these dreams could in fact be memories of us knowing each other in a past life.
Do you think this is possible? I almost need to know a more experienced view on this, because to be honest these feelings are a burden to carry, I find them confusing and embarassing as stated, and am sometimes afraid of them.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much for reading x
