Wow. This really hits home for me.
In May 1943, a camera crew accompanied the Memphis Belle to capture the harrowing reality of a B-17 bomber crew in action.

This Footage of a B-17 in Combat Will Give You Chills

Thanks for sharing, it gave me a lot of nostalgia for some reason. My class had a trip to Rome and Pompeii a few years ago but unfortunately I couldn't attend due to lack of funds.... one day I want to go there though!
The author Robert Harris writes historical fictions (e.g. the series about Cicero and a book about Pompeii) and I love reading his descriptions of life in these ancient cities.

Here's some actual video of my past life and my friend's. The quality is really bad though, sorry :( I actually have tons of old photos from China too, but I don't want to self promote too much. Some are in my thread and some I've collected in other places.
Who were you in that past life? I am also interested in old photos from China because of past life memories as well as genealogy research.

First Airplane Flight filmed: The Wright Military Flyer (1908/09)

This footage was thought to be from 1909, but very recently it has been discovered that it's actually a mixture of the 1908 and 1909 tests.
Wilbur and Orville Wright, five years out from their historic first flight at Kitty Hawk, decided to make a bid for the government contract. Tests of the Wright Flyer were first held at Fort Myer, Virginia, in September 1908.
