Past Life in Ireland

I was doing some research on past lives these past couple of weeks and found some interesting videos on youtube that really made me think about my trip to Ireland. The first thing that comes to mind is that I remember thinking, "home away from home" when we were walking around the city of Dublin (and other places).

Before this trip I was really into the Irish history, reading or watching anything on the Irish leader Michael Collins. Towards the end of our trip we got to stop by his grave and put some flowers on it. The whole trip was magical. We got to see the rest of the sites that had to do with him including the Kilmainham jail. At the beginning of the tour we were made to watch a video about the history of the jail and at the exact same time an eclipse was happening.

On one of these tours I remember talking to my father and all of a sudden my voice had changed into an Irish accent. It lasted for a couple of seconds but it was strange since this kind of thing didn't happen when we went to other countries. My family is mostly irish and italian so maybe it was easier for me to pick it up but who knows for sure.

Hello grania and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you had an enjoyable trip to Ireland. Do you have any memories that could be from a past life in Ireland?

Not really. I would have to look for a good meditation or self hypnosis video to find out. :)

You might want to check out some of the resources in the FAQs. Here is a link to some audio CDs in the FAQ section.

I find that meditation works well for me. It takes practice to still your mind but it costs nothing and you can indulge yourself anytime and anywhere that you can be undisturbed. Also, people just think that you are resting and tend to leave you alone. I always meditate in the sitting position.

I have always wanted to go to Ireland and I thought it always had to do with me maybe having a past life there. Well I was half right and half wrong. I did have a past life there as a peasant and enjoyed the simple things. However that was not triggered this desire for me to go to Ireland for so long. In my life in Victorian Britain, I had a nanny who was from Ireland (though that was supposed to have kept quiet considering how bad things were due to conflicts) And she was a wonderful nanny who inspired my creativity. She told me about Irish folklore and faeries, etc. My fantasy about going to Ireland was because of my nanny in that life. And used to write up creative stories about life in Ireland. I never got a chance to go in that life though. I hope to really visit Ireland to fulfill that wish that I never had fulfilled in that life in Victorian England.

Hi Grania! And welcome to the Forum!

You came to the right place. I personally tend to think that such an affection for a place is a possible indicator that you've been there in a past life. Is there any other place in the world that keeps your interest like this?

I have known people, who would quickly break into a particular accent from time to time; and I regret to say, that I used to think they had identity issues, or a need to fit in. However, since being a member here, I have modified that judgmental opinion quite a bit. However, there are some folks out there, who have a special gift of mimicking just about any accent. But, the fact that you've visited other countries, and such a thing never happened in those places, seems to indicate a unique incident.

Stardis made an excellent suggestion for your consideration. I can only add that the search engine on this website is quite a good way of finding posts that talk about specific things. For example, try searching for posts that include the word "accent", and see what happens.

Good luck with your search, and let us know what you find here.
