Question about Past Lives.

A bit of history first...
My 12y old son has been ill all of his life with severe and unusual allergies. He is what they call a Universal Reactor, and must live a very protected lifestyle.
When he was 10y old, I took him to get his first level Reiki. (He has very healing hands!) He had a very strange experience.
My son hates to write or draw, and never coloured as a little one - he would hand a colouring book to someone and ask them to do it for him.
At the class the children were asked to draw a picture of where they were before they were born. My son had been just fine up to this point, but he refused to draw, and the more I tried to jolly him into it the more upset he got. He even wept silently.
Suddenly I realized his lips were swelling, and his eyes were sinking back into his head - he was having an anaphylactic-type reaction. He was limp, and could barely walk when I rushed him outside for the fresh air, and gave him the neutralizing drops we had gotten from a Clinical Ecologist. (My son is unable to tolerate normal meds.) This was *not* a case of a child simply being difficult.
Only after assuring him that he could go home and he did not have to draw the picture did he start to pick up again.
I got a heavy feeling that it was all my fault - that my son is only here, in this plane of existence, due to my shear will of wanting him. He was born after 5 preg. losses, continual bedrest, several episodes of premature labour and born unresponsive, needing recesitation. His allergic problems began immediately after birth.
He is an extremely loving and supportive child. When he was still barely verbal, he began telling me every day that I was a wonderful mother, unrealted to anything that was going on and nothing I could say would get him to stop. (I found it very embrassing!)
He taught our family to hug and love each other, especially my oldest (15y at this child's birth) who was born a touch-me-not, yet carried his brother around and hugged him freely!
This child has very high moral standards, that even I find hard to live up to at times, and feels deep sadness at the injustice he sees in the world. He is very telepathic, and sensitive to auras and emotions around him. At times, I feel that he is an angel.
Do you think it is possible that this was my fault, or do you think that it was a past life that upset him?

My youngest son is a touch me not as well.... he is very sensitive and has had a lot of trouble with scapegoating in the school system in Canada. Have your two had problems this way... being excluded from groups, called "weird" verbal abuse, and even physical?

I spent years trying to figure out what this was caused by. Both of mine have very strong moral sense too and a strong sense of justice. They will refuse to get into things just because the crowd is doing them.

I'm off to hunt on this now and I'll keep folks here up to date.

My youngest son is home-schooled, but still had great difficultly with the children on the street we used to live on. Both the parents and the children ostracized him for a year, after he was too ill to finish out the season on the baseball team - even tohough I had warned the parents ahead of time about his health. Towards the end of our time on that street, my son would stand by the window and watch the other childrn play. When I would suggest that he go out, he told me he was not allowed to, the other children would scream at him to go back inside,if he went out. This was an upper middle class neighbourhood - I am still in shock at how terribly they treated my son.
My middle son went to public school, but he wasmuch better at handling people, and till high school, I don't recall any problems. Then in high school the teachers started picking on him, and they told me he should quit school. When I reminded them that he was only 15y and could not, they denied they had said such a thing. They could not give me one reason why he should quit, they just didn't seem to like him...

CATHERINE;

I don't know if you have been here long enough, reading but this treatment is the reason that I contacted this site to start with. I wondered why my son was being treated like this. You've pretty much described the treatment that he got. My older son had problems, to but not to the extent the younger one had.

May I direct you to a book by Dr. Irwin Hyman, called "Dangerous Schools"? It doesn't say why kids who are psychic get this treatment, but it does give an in-depth description of the treatment that occurs. It should arm you better, if not supply solutions. He advocates litigation as a way to make this stop in schools, but that may not be an option for you as it was not for me. Canada is not very sympathetic to these kind of law suits and I felt with my son that a suit would just traumatise him further. If you want to discuss this more, feel free to email me, and I can compare notes with you. Perhaps we can help each other with tactics to work in these situations.
Everybody here who has been here a year has been abused with the problems my son had.
The good news is that he is coming out of the effects of the trauma rather nicely. The bad news is that there is a problem called "Educator-Induced Post Traumatic Syndrome" that is very possible if your son is being treated like this. That is discussed in Dr. Hyman's book.
DJ and I have discussed this, as well, so she may be of help too.
All my love and support, Catherine! I have a special empathy for your son's trouble.
By the way, do you ever feel that there is a kind of network of energy over the Earth, Like the Ley lines, following Power corridors? This is something that I have allways felt, and I feel a draw to certain places because they "feel" Right, I'm sorry I can't describe the sensation any better.

Good Luck and All my support,
Shay

Hi Shay,
I don't want to be a "nitpicker" but I question your statement that "everybody here who has been here a year has been abused with the problems my son had." Perhaps I don't understand what you mean. Do you really mean that all of the long-time participants on this forum have experienced the same problems of abusive behavior toward their children (or toward themselves)? Please could you clarify what you mean?

Well, this is part of the reason my youngest is home-schooled, so we do not have a need to fight with the school system.

We began home-schooling due to his extreme health problems, but the more I hear about our school systems, the cut-backs in Ontario, and the growing problem of violence - there is little chance that I would put him in school now.

I remember being treated so badly in school myself, and will no longer inflict that on my children. I was an honour student, never causing any trouble, yet the principal threatened me with the strap one day because my grandmother (who I was living with at the time) would not give permission for me to go on a school trip. I could never figure out why these bizarre things would happen to me...

My middle son is now 22y, and has been out of school since he was 16y. When they took my gifted son and put him in a special school even lower than special ed., he refused to go any longer. I couldn't blame him.

<By the way, do you ever feel that there is a kind of network of energy over the Earth, Like the Ley lines, following Power corridors? This is something that I have allways felt, and I feel a draw to certain places because they "feel" Right, I'm sorry I can't describe the sensation any better.>

I do know what you mean - and I drove everyone around me crazy, as I searched for the "right" place to move to. It took me more than 6 months, but I knew the moment I stepped into our current house, just 2 months ago, that this was home. And this house stands out in this neighbourhood, a century home alone on a huge plot of land, in the middle of the city - yet at a low enough price that I could afford it.

CATHERINE:

I wish that home schooling had been an option for my guys, or that I had even been able to nail down that this was aberrant and damaging when it first started. It was insidious, however, and I had my husband telling me that I was paranoid, this happened all the time in schools, and being concerned that my challenging of the school would embarrass him.
I tended to try to stay back as much as possible because I was given the i;mpression that I was a problem. If I had Dr. Hyman's book before this happened, I would have made strenuous efforts to make this stop, even if it meant getting the police in on it.
SIGH..... Too soon ve gets old... too late ve gets shmart!
Not to pry, but are you in Canada? The reason that I ask is there is a researcher in the University of Western Ontario who does seminars on this and says he also does books. I am waiting for him to email me back with any upcoming seminars and a list pof counsellors who deal with abuse in schools who can help those who are being hurt by it.
If you're interested, I can let you know if there are any coming up in this area....Toronto.

Hmmmm?

ELIZABETH:

No I don't mean that everyone has had the same problems, I meant that you all had read about what my son endured and were probably not needing to hear more. I thought that if Catherine was having the same problem, we could gain by each other's experinces.... brainstorming so to speak.
I figured that all of you had probably heard enough of that, it being such a loaded subject.

No Offense meant..
Shay

Yes, I know how insideous it can be. I wish I could have protected my middle son more - but they kept insisting it was him, and I was insecure enough to believe that my son must be lying, or they wouldn't be saying these things about him.

And my youngest, with the neighbour children - I never realized how bad it had gotten till the end. He still suffers from the treatment they gave him, and prefers to hide in the house. And I fear letting him out, I do not want him hurt any more. It is a struggle.

As you say, hind-sight...

Yes, actually I just moved from northern Toronto to Oshawa.

CATHERINE:

You describe the exact kind of abuse my boys suffered and they wer eboth forced ultimately to defend themselves and were blamed as bad for it afterwards. I finally got disgusted and started keeping a diary of the incidents and that was of great help in dealing with the final problems that my younger son had at Banting High school in Alliston, between T.O. and Barrie. The school refused to make efforts to stop harassment he was recieving form a gang in the school and we were finally forced to move him to another school despite his protests. He very nearly died on us, and I'll be darned if I can see any good on any side other than the denial of the school being violent by the local school board. We really need changes up here. I do not believe that Harris is ignorant of what is going on... he is doing the same thing as the school did...trying to deflect the attention of the public to an issue that he can manipulate and he won't step in any ocw-pies.
I wa salso told my son was lying, but I was lucky that my older son had witnessed the event in question and informed me of the truth (what the younger one had said and I was telling him off about because the teacher had actually managed to intimidate him into saying he lied while I was there) At that moment, I determined that I would not believe them any more with this. They did try numerous times, however.
Are You interested in seminars? I have found that learning more about this is a help to my state of mind, if for no other reason than that I know that what happende to my guy was not the only thing to happen to other kids too. The power these people have over kids mental status is just too much. They abuse trust.
You know what they say about power and absolute power.

Erk!...See what I mean? But as the saying goes: "All that is required for evil to prosper is for men of good will to remain silent"

Hi

,

I guess I can't contribute "all" that much...I mean, I hope I haven't misconstrued what you've been discussing, but I think that "demeaning" of intuitive people can take place everywhere, not just in schools, or rather, not just as children. I was put down and avoided by many thruout my school career (I had difficulty finding and keeping friends, e.g.) but I have found more demeaning etc in my career as a teacher, as an adult, than I did before. I left my last school because the principal told me I wasn't doing a good job as a teacher. It was more than that, but basically it was like she was out to get me (that's what I felt like, but it wasn't just me; quite a few people left every year). Despite all the wonderful things the parents had to say about me and the wonderful effects seen in the kids, the principal doubted my ability. I am now in a situation where whatever I say is instantly translated into the opposite by the principal. In terms of kids' academic or social progresses, whenever I have had my concerns and assessments, she has supported other people's assessments over mine even when I am the only one who has spent 6 hours a day 5 days a week for months with the child. It doesn't matter what I say, it's wrong. She has basically banned my mother from the school except for "special occasions," and then only with her "permission." Her reasoning is "Why is she here?" When I said she loves the kids and they love her and I could retire if I had a dollar for everytime a parent has thanked me for having my mother help out, she said nothing. When I leave the school, I am not certain I will get a good recommendation from her, and this is not really good because I didn't get one at all from the principal at the last school. I don't know any other teacher who has put more time and energy and love into her children and this is what I have gotten so far from my bosses.
Perhaps it's the underlying fact that the children are in school for the benefit of the planet...and some forces are out to stop them. Who knows? It's probably a variety of reasons.

Peace,

I just have to reply, I feel and understand the hurt and frustration you feel, I feel it even here. I think you are experienceing ostracism because of jealousy.
You are right.... sensitive adults doo recieve more of this than kids, but they are better able to cope and understand what is hapenning, and delegate the spite to the niche it belongs in. DON'T YOU LET THEM GET YOU DOWN!!! OUr kids need your kind of person as a teacher. My experience is that the job of principal lately is usually filled by the type of person who likes to be the boss and is a master manipulator.
I will tell you about a close friend of mine who is a very good teacher and a feeling one. She does sub-teaching and assistance where ther is a need because she has two small ones of her own. she had been having trouble getting a principal to address a problem in the school, and one day she noticed a very small guy crying in the hall. She sat down on the floor and commisserated with him, trying to improve his unhappiness. This principal took her aside later and told her essentially if she dropped her demands that the other issue be addressed, HE would forget about this incident of improper touching and child abuse. (he was threatening to call her comforting of this child this)
So, you see, what you are recieving is systemic.. I wonder if some lazy people fear that if you are seen to put so much into your job, it will force them to pull up their socks... and because they prefer the status quo, they would rather destroy you to remove the problem they percieve.
For my own experience, I have always had problems making friends and keeping them, Either they were friendly because they wanted something, or they were vastly needy and had discerned that I cared, and wanted much more than I could give. I will do everything I can where I can, but I cannot devote 30 hours a day to someone other than my family. I have three friends whom I have a friendly interaction with, whom I can have a conversation without their wanting any more than the friendship and support.
I had only intended to check what was up here and get onthe road to deliver honey, but I can feel your hurt very strongly ,a I would hate to think these turkeys might chase you out of the teaching profession.
You have my love and admiration, DJ, and that of yur kids parents if they have any perception, so concentrate on them and don't put too much weight in what the detractors have to say, because they have an axe to grind.

I will leave now, but I hope that you understand what I'm saying and don't think I'm prying.

Thanks so much for the reply. It made me tear up.
I had another really hard day today. It is bizarre. I don't know at all if I'm going to get a good recommendation from her. But I am tired of the dishonesty. All of a sudden I am looking forward to some sort of newness of next fall whether I have a regular position or tutoring or whatnot. I don't want to stay around all this negativity.

Interestingly, the kids are picking up on all this. They are wearing me so thin. I have been a bit more strained with them but I can just be sitting there, like in sharetime, and a third of them will be acting up. They didn't used to do that.

I am trying to understand how some people can be so...twisted. We all come from the same beginning. What happened to some who went the different, or negative, way?

Anyhow, thank-you, Shay.

Peace,
DJ

DJ:

You really sound bummed out. Do you suppoe that this is one of those cultural things where little deviations gradually become large ones because people don't make it plain that the cruel, manipulative behaviour is unacceptable.
I found that the kids who were most likely to be mean to our pets when they visited were the same ones who were the ringleaders of manipulation and abuse of other kids as they grew. Thier parents were usually pretty much the same, an thought that this behaviour was learning good skills for the REAL world. They were the first ones to dislike that direct ed at their own kids ore themselves.
Dr. Garbarino says that you can tell a kid who will be capable of thoughtless cruelty to other people because they are the ones who are vicious to animals and have no empathy whatsoever.
I find that kids do react to someone who is upset the way you describe. Older people too. My pets seem to want to come and comfort, except the horses, who are the same as the kids. That is what I meant when I said my youngest could turn the whole house into a miasma of misery. He would transmit to his dad, and his brother and pretty soon, they all would be miserable and snappy too. I would be in the middle trying to get it to stop when he didn't manage to drag me in too.

Maybe you need some space, the same as he did.
People I'm aquainted with in N. Carolina got so disgusted with politics in the schools that they started a school of their own, with other parents, a private school. They can't be the only ones, perhaps that type of school is an alternative, since they are only interested in the kids welfare, not who can craw to the top more effectively?

(Just to give a light touch, my brother says that business is like being on a ladder..... when you look up all you see is backsides...when you look down all you see is smiling faces)

It seems that this situation has crept into our schools while we had our attention elsewhere.

Don't let them make you adopt the party line, DJ. You are too good a person for that. Can your mother be a confidant and a shoulder for you? You really need a king sized hug... consider yourself hugged by proxy, kid.

Peace and calm for you
Shay

DJ:

Just as I was re-scaning what we wrote, thinking if there was anything that I could clarify or add, the thougt bubbled up...
Do you suppose this is what they refer to as people losing the WAY... that they have deviated off the path into cruelty and not even reallized they were off the path because they were unable to see what is moral and what is not on their own, and no-one ever told them their behaviour was damaging to others?

Shay

Shay,

That's a fascinating thought you have about people "losing their way," in part because no one thought to point it out to them. It's amazing to see how parents at our school have not been speaking up. Some think they are in the minority. If they all spoke up, it might be better. Of course, that's to put it simply.
I told my head room mother (who is a confidante) I don't *understand* how someone could be like this [lose their way]. She said I probably won't ever understand.
I suppose, to put it simply, we are One but each aspect of the One must make choices. There may be 4 children in One Family but they are each going to go out and make different choices. Some might follow the Good Path. Others may not.
Yes, you're right, I need some space! I would like to go off to a wonderful vacation and relax and paint. All of a sudden 7 weeks to go till summer seems like a long time. 3 months off? (in the summer)---I told my mom and uncle that I feel as if I need a *year* off.
My head room mom told me not to let it (her) get me "in here" (she pointed to her center, in her gut). I have to remember that.

Thank-you Shay, for your concern. Funny, but I feel as if I have already made friends on this forum.

Peace,
DJ

DJ:

I don't know if you have access to doing this, but when I reach a point that I feel totally discouraged, I have abig old maple tree down the back of our property that I will walk down to. I settle myself at the base of that tree and just veg out, letting the birdsong and the sounds of nature soak in. Usually after about a half hour, I feel ready to take on the world again, and I get up and go for a nice long walk through the forest and home. I think part of it is there is an energy in the life of the tree, and part is that putting some distance from other humans allows me to clear the static and return to a safe idle.
Maybe what is frazzling you too is a jumble of thought from others snaggling up with your own and its like getting caught in seaweed when you are diving, it catches your thoughts and makes it impossible to process properly.

I hope you are not in the city core, and can find a place to walk that you can manage something like this. It sure helps me. I find its so much easier to maintain my objectivity when I've done this.

Love
Shay

One other thing.... I remembered that when my son was having the worst trouble with a verbally abusive teacher, I discovered afterwards when I discussed the problem with the gal who was the pres. of the Parents association, that he was doing the same thing to at least three other kids, and each set of parents felt that they were the only ones having trouble. This seems to be systemic, and the authorities seem to take advantage of this by giving eac complaining parenbt the feeling that they are the only ones with a problem, and their child is responsible.
That is why I am so loud on the subject. I think that people need to share thier problems with the school so that they understand that there is something wrong with the educational system and do something, rather than let themselves be manipulated by propaganda.

Perhaps the people who are problems where you are are making use of the same process to hide their enethical tactics?
Is there a way to access a parent's associaton, or a teacher's association...I don't know much about how the system works there but here the teachers are afraid to buck the system for fear of never having a chance for good jobs or advancement. If you're patient, and observant, tho, I believe that an opportunity to make a difference will present itself, without it reflecting on you, personnally.

All my Support, and TTFN

It's really interesting 'listening' to your conversation. You're right about the school system, something deffinately needs to be done. I live on the east coast and I even see it here. Talking with the kids in my skating club, you can deffinately see that something needs to be done. Parents don't mind shelling out incredible amounts of money (whether they can afford to/it or not) because it will keep their kids safe and away from all bad influences in their school.

It's really interesting that you guys are from Ont. My brother just moved to TO last year (working downtown for a computer co.) and my boyfriend's sister just moved to Oshawa a month ago.

Hope you're all having a good day. Should be interesting to see what this Day guy is going to do with this Alliance Leadership. Take Care all, -rinkrat.

You know this is weird! You are describing my years of terror in the school system and I'm nearly forty years old! I was hoping by now that people would have grown up and realized that WE ARE NOT WEIRD! We are definitely different, probably more accepting and responsible and caring than the NORMAL people, but we are not WEIRD! That word used to hurt so much as a kid, now I still hear it, but I don't let them eat away at me now. Okay, so I have to remove myself from them and I don't have many friends, but I feel as though I am achieving something by working with animals. (I am a vet assistant), but I have to admit, I still do not get the acceptance and recognition that others who do less, get.
I wish that I could say that it will get easier for your children, but the world still seems so "smash the circle through the square hole" that I have my doubts. Good luck with everything. -catseye
