Quick Recall...my son, age 5

We were going for a walk and my son suddenly stopped in his tracks and said he didn't live with us. He said he lived in another house and that he had 4 sisters and a mom and a dad. He said he needed to go there and that it was far, far away. He started walking the other way and I finally called for him and he stopped, paused, turned around and said, just kidding. His face was completely serious when he was talking about his other family and his eyes were really wide and he was staring at the ground.
It was a short and not extremely detailed discussion but I wonder if it was a brief recall of a past life.

Thoughts?

Hi Sheryl...It does sound like he recalled something for sure. Often when children recall a past life, they look trancelike, rather how you described your son. I'm curious, where were you two walking? Was it quiet or were you already in a conversation? I wonder if he saw something that triggered a memory. It sounds like, since he is five, that he may have been embarrassed once it was over.

Enjoy reading through the forums, and feel free to keep posting about your son. :)

I guess just listen to what he has to say if something that sounds like more memories come up. Writing down what he says is also good, it can help in the future if he developes an interest in pastlives. I wish my parents would have but they never believed in reincarnation. I would've helped me in many ways if they had.

My older son never remembered any lives, I was hoping he would've. He was a very early talker but he never said anythig remotely pastlifish (new word :) ) I waiting for my second guy to say something but he's taking his time verbally so I might be waiting awhile.

Btw, welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum, Sheryl. :)

It does sound like he was really remembering his other family, but snapped out of it, or realised he wouldn't probably be believed telling such a "silly" story.

I also think you should write this down for future reference. If he mentions the family again, you could ask him some questions about it without pushing him. Maybe you could ask him to draw the family?

Good luck and keep us posted. I hope you like it here on this forum!

Hi sheryl,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your son's story. The others have given you some good ideas, but I just wanted to add to Karoliina's suggestion that it's always a good idea to 'go along' with the children when they speak about their past life.

If your son mentions his 'other family' again, then pretend that you already knew about them and try to get a conversation going with him. You could ask him what their names are? What games does he like to play with his sisters? What are they wearing? Where does his father work? Anything that might give you an idea of the time period and location. If he stays in that 'altered state' long enough, then he may open up and talk about it, especially if you make him feel comfortable in doing so.

And like the others said, make sure you write everything down in a journal because it can be very much like putting the pieces of a puzzle together after a while.

Hope you enjoy the discussions here, and please keep us updated if he says anything else.

Hi Sheryl and welcome :)

Thank you for sharing - I agree with the others that it sounds very likely your son experienced a spontaneous past life recall.

Have you read Carol Bowman's books? Books by Carol Bowman :)

Hi, Sheryl! Welcome to the forum. Age 5 is a really great time for some memories to surface and it is wonderful that you are taking the time to look into it. I also second the recommendation for reading Carol Bowman's books! I LOVED Return to Heaven! I hope you will keep us updated. Spontaneous recall is an amazing thing!
