I was helping a member of another forum with research and validations regarding the Soviet bio-chem warfare program, when I came across "Vozrozhdeniya" or Rebirth Island. So anyway, reading about this place (and having played Black-Ops :laugh: ), I noticed that not only did I feel very put-off by the island, it was too familiar to me.
Now, if you don't already know, I've been looking into the possibility of a parallel life in WWII- early Cold War. As far as I know, I was part of the NKVD (later the KGB, but under Stalin it was the NKVD). The Ninth Directorate to be precise. Anyway, what they were in charge of was providing bodyguards to key party members and their families, the Kremlin and various facilities around the Soviet Union.
I thought, alright this makes sense. I've come to be under the impression that I may or may not have been one such "bodyguard" of Beria, and so my "it make sense" and "this rings a bell" streak continues.
Then I was re-alerted, so to speak, of the existence of Rebirth Island, and I couldn't figure out why the place sounded so familiar. And then it hit me.
While invading Manchuria at the conclusion of WWII, Soviet troops captured Japanese scientists and learned of their human experimentation through captured documents and prisoner interrogations. Subsequently, Stalin put "his Himmler" (Beria. And yes, apparently he once introduced Beria this way) in charge of a new BW program.
Now, I only know of the existence of two bodyguards of Beria (Colonel Sarkisov and Nadaraia), but they are only recorded for the simple fact that Beria was eventually charged with multiple accounts of rape, etc. However, knowing what I do about the NKVD and Soviet documentation as a whole, I think it's very likely Beria had more than two bodyguards, and being who he was, probably visited Vozrozhdeniya on occasion.
My theory: I was a "bodyguard" (so to speak) of Beria, who accompanied him quite often to a place in the Aral sea known as "Vozrozhdeniya" or "Rebirth Island".
So what do you guys think? I only have 1-2 memories regarding this, and everything else is just impressions and feelings, and that innate "knowing".
(Vozrozhdeniya was a major Soviet facility for microbiological weaponry, research and laboratories. It was established clandestinely in 1948 in the Aral Sea between Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. It is no longer geographically distinctive and is shared by the latter two countries. The BW weapons programs began in the 1920s, despite the USSR being a signatory on the 1925 Geneva Convention, which banned the assembly and use of biological weaponry)
