I recently had a medium come to my house because I knew it was haunted. Well, I never dreamed in a million years she would tell me my daughter is the reincarnation of a 17 year old girl named Michelle that had been shot. The only thing I know is that this Michelle had been gone for a 1 1/2 before she came back into my daughter. My daughter has the birthmarks to prove this, my daughter has birthmarks that they call "strawberry" she has one on the front left side of her chest (small) and she has another on the middle of her back (larger) I was told that the difference in size in comman with gun shot wounds the smaller beeing the entrance and the larger beeing the exit. Both of these birthmarks are very warm to the touch (this is also consistant with gun shot wounds because they burn)! To top it off, my daughter also has a heart murmur ( a hole in her heart) this nothing major! My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and has not said anything out of the orinary other than sometimes she will say "mommy I want to go home", when in fact we are home! I would like to find out more info on this girl Michelle and I don't know where or how to begin? Can someone lead me in the right direction? I would also like to know, is everyone reincarnated? And how do they choose who they want to come back as?
This is also why my house in haunted, some of the spirits or ghosts that are in my house are here to see my daughter "the New Michelle"!

It's so interesting you mentioned your daughter saying she wants to go home. My children have said the same thing and it baffled me.My cousin's children said the same thing so she asked a medium about it and was told our children are talking about the other side. It's not that our children want to die, they just remember the absolute love and joy of Home.Let's face it, Home is much easier then the earthly plane.My four year old just said it the other day. Instead of saying "you are home silly", I now say "I know Home is wonderful, but I'm very happy to have you here with me right now."
Do you have any thoughts on if you were with her in this past life?
You don't mention if this haunting is unsettling to you or your daughter. Are these loving souls who are looking after your daughter?
I look forward to hearing what your daughter has to say in the future about all this.

SOME of the hauntings that I have in my house are for my daughter (Sara), the ghosts are here to see the New Michelle. They are very calm, so far, but the medium did say that I was going to have my hands full over the next couple of years because of this. I guess I could say that my daughter has angels with her at all times.
Im a little worried about the reincarnation subject, I never believed in this until now and I am still trying to do some more research on..I want to know if everyone is reincarnated and how people choose who they want to back as? Also, I am going to let my daughter explore her mind and just see how much "ability" she has, and Im wondering if letting her remember her past will affect her personality or her character as she gets older.
After the first of the year I am going to have the medium come back and see if she can get more information from the spirits in my home. I want to know more about this Michelle and where she is from and what kind of person she was. If at that time I feel it is safe to keep the hauntings in my house I will but if for any reason I feel danger I will have the medium get them to cross over. The medium did tell me however, that my daughter will have this the rest of her life because she is what they call a "gifted" child, she can see and speak with people from the other side. I can as well, but not as good as my daughter. My daughter is just starting to learn all of her abilities and she don't quite understand what she has, she does know that they are ghosts because she will tell me when she sees them. She has not learned yet to communicate with them though, and until she does the hauntings will get worse so they can get her attention. (thats what the medium said)! I am sure all of this sounds a little far fetched, don't worry it still does to me sometimes when I try to talk about it. Thank you for listenting, I hope to hear from you again soon.

Well I personally don't think anything that you have so far said is far fetched, in fact quite the opposite - that is what is so wonderful about forum's like these

I think you are doing a wonderful thing now by accepting all of this and helping your daughter understand her "gifts", etc, a lot of parents in the same position would not be so encouraging....and you shouldn't worry about any of these memories of past lives and such having a negative effect on her personality, a lot of children experience them at a younger age - until school and society gradually constrict their imagination and gradually layer over the memories unless encouraged to remember and connect to themselves - it really is more common than a lot of people realise.

At the moment you are the best judge of what is right and wrong for your daughter, by watching and recording her progress, etc, you will be best person there is to know whether this is having either a positive or negative effect on her...trust your natural and maternal instincts on all this, as you have already been doing, don't push your daughter in anyway to remember, just be ready to listen, believe and take note and your daughter should blossom in her understanding and maybe then things will begin to settle down somewhat in the "haunting department".

Spontaneous past life memories can appear to all of us at any time, whatever our age, whether or not we recognise them or take note of them is another thing entirely, but please do not worry, past life memories will never surface if not for a good reason....there is always a reason, or otherwise our higher self would not release them to us, if not for good or to learn, so please don't worry about these memories affecting your daughter in anyway.

The main problem with all these metaphysical areas is they are all based on personal interpretation, I could ream page after page on what reincarnation and the evolution of the soul means to me, but that would only be a purely personal opinion, I would say the best course for you to understand the questions you have presented on reincarnation, is to do some of your own personal research, read over some of the other threads in this forum, search the Internet, get some books out of the library and research to your hearts content

Since you are new to all this and are doing research you should check out the books by Sylvia Browne.Her earlier books talk about her experiences as a child,seeing and hearing spirits and how she learned to develop her gift. She is a working medium today. I think her experiences,and what she has learned about reincarnation may help you to understand what you and your daughter are going through.
I don't think anything you have said is far-fetched. I'm a life long believer in reincarnation, and have had a couple of past life memories,as well as what I belive is some contact with the other side,my mother in particular who passed over 15 years ago.
I know all this must be alot to think about.I hope you keep up on your research and find the way to peace and comfort with all this.

Thank you everyone who has responded to my story, it's making things a little easier. It's nice to have someone to talk to that understands.
I just spoke with the medium that was here a few weeks ago and I am going to have her come back after the first of the year and do some more work. The hauntings in my house are slowly getting worse. They are starting to bang on things and I have one little boy that likes to touch...he tickles me and my daughter....that is a very unpleasant feeling to wake up in the middle of the night with little fingers tickling you especially when you can't see them! I know he means well, but still I'm not reall crazy about the whole thing.

I know this may sound silly, but have you ever tried talking to the ghosts in your house?...Maybe you should start to set a few ground rules down if they plan on sticking around, they obviously mean you no harm, so I'm sure they will take to a quick chat and run down of the do's and don'ts of what they can and can't do

It's just a thought, but I've heard it can work

But I talk to them everyday. Every night before I go to bed and when I put my daughter to bed I go through the house and tell them good night, and no talking, no noises, and no touching. for the most part it works, and when I get up in the mornings I tell them all good morning!
Talking to them seems to help, but they still find little things which aren't too bad..Today I went back to my bedroom and took a nap with my daughter and someone touched the top of my head.
I see their shadows and reflections which is a little scary sometimes but I'm getting a litle better with it all. The only thing I don't like is the smell of a few of them....one smells like wood smoke (she died in a fire) another one smells like really nasty perfume(it's an older lady) and the other smells really sweet.(not sure about this one).
 
I would like to share another perspective on this topic.

I communicate with spirit realm every day of my life and I have done healings with spirit beings who were inhabiting a house. So, I do speak from some experience.

Its very important to remember that spirit realm and human realm interpenetrate. Most human beings think that human realm and spirit realm are separate, but this is not true at all. Its just that spirit realm and human realm exist at different vibrational frequencies and most human biengs have a difficult time perceiving the subtle vibrations of spirit realm.

For this reason I never say that a house is "haunted". Spirit beings are everywhere, inside us, around us, in our thoughts, in our feelings, in our hearts (ESPECIALLY IN OUR HEARTS). So, if your house is "haunted", then everything and everywhere on Earth is "haunted".

What I have learned is that there is a reason and purpose behind everything. It is also my experience that 99% of the time spirit beings come to us for a benevolent purpose (I wish 99% of my human contacts were benevolent!). Most of the times that human beings feel fear at contact with spirit beings, it is because of the humans projecting their fears onto the spirit beings. The truth of the matter is that most humans have a fear of what is not yet known to them.

So, when I approach a spirit being, I open my awareness as widely as possible. Then I slowly and patiently invite them to reveal themselves to me in whatever way they find most appropriate. My intention is ALWAYS for their and my highest and best good. Even if they appear malevolent at first, I always approach them as beings of light and love who are lost. I keep my heart open to them. Using this process, they will eventually reveal more of themselves to me, how they got to be where they are, what they are searching for, etc. Once all this is known, then it usually is easy to help them move toward their Light.

Remember, that we are all the same in essence, we are all the same.

I do believe that spirits are everywhere, but only some of us are a little more open minded to the spirit world or sensitive what ever you want to call it.
I am not afraid to admit that I am a little frightend by all of this because it's new to me. I am slowly learning how to handle what I see and hear. I enjoy seeing them, but I am still frightned by the touch and the sounds of them.
When I see a spirit in my house it fills me with alot of joy and fear at the same time. I have one that cry's and I think it is a child, I am a mother, I hate to hear a child cry especially when it sounds like they are in pain.
I would love to communicate with them a little more but I am afraid to reach that next level of my open mind. The fear of the unknown!! I am not sure how to open that section of my mind with the fears that I have and if it can be done. I think first of all I need to deal with my fears. How do you do that?? Do you think that if I open myself up to them totally it could help ease not only me but the spirits too?

If you are interested in learning more about reincarnation,read the books by Brian Weiss.Read his first book first,"Many Lives,Many Masters".I think this is the best book for people to read who aren't sure if they believe,he wasen't a believer either.
Once you are able to feel more comfortable with your new belief system, I think all this will be much easier to take and will bring you great joy.You are on the path of a great journey and spiritual development.I hope that the fear will soon be replaced with the love and light in which it is intended.

You are learning a lot about fear. So, already these spirit beings around you are helping you to learn and grow. Overcoming our fears is a big step in having a wondrous relationship with all of spirit.

There is much that I can do to help you overcome your fears, but it would require talking on the phone. Some fears are simple to overcome and transform and some require deeper healing. I need to be in direct contact with someone to guide a deeper healing.

I think that if I had grown up with this it would be easier to take in, but beeing an adult and just starting to learn and understand what I have is really strange to me. I have always believed in the spiritual world, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect to live it.
I feel like I'm playing catch up with 27 years of my life on my beliefs and thoughts! The more I hear from all of you the more I want to keep my spirits here and try to learn more about them myself. I would really like to learn how to open myself to them fully.
Do you think that if I go to the one room in my house that I hate the most and talk with them it would help? Could I take a tape recorder with me and listen to it closely it would give me some ideas as to who they are and why they are here?
Bob, I would really like to hear from you again and your insight with what I should do?

It's been just 5 days since your first post on the 17th.
And you've gotten lots of responses that are compassionate and wonderful.
Now, I'm giving you a gut-feeling.

Slow down.

You don't have to do anything about this today, tomorrow or next week.
And the last thing I would do is go to that "room" you speak of without hands-on, long-term support.
At the risk of offending BobK (and I've visited his website...I thought it was lovely, with many true and insightful things there), I truly wish you would read, study and...in short -- not jump at what you think may be a solution right away.
I also wish you will not be "beguiled" by the spirit world.
There's a power and a "specialness" that sometimes comes with seeing and feeling things that most others don't.
That's what I mean by "beguiled".

What concerns me bigtime is the fact that there is a child involved.
One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made was letting two of my stepchildren use a Ouija board when they were much too young to handle it.
Long story short: they were quiet in their room for hours on end with the spirit that came through. The spirit stayed. For many years. And for a number of years, nothing much happened--until my stepdaughter's newborn daughter moved into that room.
It got stranger than strange.
And my feeling is...tempered by some frightening experiences...that when small children are involved we simply can't be cavalier about these things.
You DON'T just go into a "haunted" room and invite "spirits" or whatever's in there to tea.
Not when there is a child in the house.
Never when there's a child in the house.

The medium you consulted seemed to have spoken in generalities. "17-year-old 'Michelle'...gunshot wound...died perhaps 20-something years ago".
She'd (he'd) have to come up with dates, places and newspaper article to convince me.
It almost sounds "hit-and-run". A responsible medium would be there for you more, I would think.

hello again,
I am not going to do anything that I think will endanger my child. I don't want to jump in the deep end of the pool here, I want to start shallow and work my way in. Thats why I am asking so many questions and trying to sort out what I think is best!
The medium that came to my house is still with me, I keep in touch with her on a regular basis. She told me when she came that the spirits weren't saying alot to her, but they did tell her enough to make me believe. Michelle died a year and a half before my daughter was born, now, the medium did tell me that she would come back after the holidays and do more for me. As for the research, Im still looking, I came to a dead end at the library, the only other thing I can do is go to the court house and do a property search.
As for the ouija board....NEVER...Not in my house. I never liked it as a child and wouldn't play with it then and still refuse to have any part of it today.
Please feel free to say whatever is necessary, don't feel like you shouldn't give me any critisism, because I need a little of that too. Everyone here has been so unbelievably supportive and telling me what they think I should do, so please don't hesitate to tell me what not to do!

Gypsy has given you good advice.Study,and take each new thing slowly,let it sink in and feel comfortable with it before going on to anything else.Read,read,read.If your go to amazon.com and look up spirituality,you can read descriptions of the books and decide which books would best serve your purpose before you buy.I think books by Brian Weiss,and James Van Praagh,to name a few, would be helpful.There is nothing negative in these books.I look forward to hearing how your research is going.
