resurfacing of soulmate connection memories

Hi all,

I don't post often, almost 4 years ago I posted about having a soul connection soulmate connection while I was on exchange in Québec. My first day there, before I had even gotten out of the airport parkinglot I met her. As soon as our eyes met it was "hey it's you! Oh my god it's you."
Nothing of romantic significance happened, the program kept throwing us together and while we were friendly with each other - we did not keep in touch. I have not seen or heard from her since June 2009.
I've never really forgotten, but I have lived my life since then, had a 6 month relationship with a non-soulmate .... and it's gotten busy.

About 2 weeks ago, I felt these memories resurface - I took advantage of it to write down the whole experience in detail, the weird synchronicity, the connection... how I don't think either of us was really sure what to make of each other. I was delighted by her presence when we were around each other... If a little terrified by the strength of the connection and my own issues....

I've never felt distressed about not being with her romantically, I once felt we would absolutely meet again, then I decided that was ridiculous. Now I am unsure.

Has anyone ever had an experience like this? Why would it resurface now?

In my opinion, we sometimes have "soul mates" who aren't meant to be romantic partners, and physical attraction confuses the issue. She could have been a mother, a brother, or a comrade-in-arms from a past life, and somehow her physical package, as well as her soul-print, made an instant connection with you. I don't think all attractions of this type are meant to be "consummated", in either the physical sense, or the emotional one. It can leave us with bitter-sweet longings, and night dreams for many years to come. Sometimes, I find, this is a sweeter experience than a failed love affair. Perhaps the lady in question is a prototype for you of the unachievable ideal, or an omen of something wonderful to come. I hope she is a beautiful hint of what the future holds for you.
