Retrieving Past life memories without regression

Greetings,

For the past decade I've relentlessly attempted to uncover any shred of information about my past life which hopefully would shed light on my current challenges in life (cause&effect), so far however all my efforts have been in vain.
About two years ago I decided to get a past life regression which unfortunately failed because the therapist was unable to put in me in the appropriate state of mind to gain access to these past memories. Through out the entire session I felt as though I was only fooling myself and would under full consciousness make up a story in order to please the therapist who was getting very INSISTENT that I come up with anything.

Having gone through that route I am curious whether anyone here can perhaps suggest another good alternative to retrieve past life information ? ?

If anyone on this forum can suggest a good way around my dilemma I would be very grateful ! !

Thanks

The problem is getting your active mind involved in past life recall. It may take some training, but you absolutely cannot analyze with your active mind while under hypnosis. You need to keep an open mind that is basically free to accept whatever comes. If nothing comes, that is perfectly fine. Not everyone experiences the same thing through a regression, if at all.

Past life recall can come in many forms during a regression, lingering emotions, strong feelings, maybe an inclination toward something or some event, smells, sounds, images in your mind, or even full blown images that you are seeing like in a movie theater. Also nothing can come up at the time, but maybe will resurface later.

It sounds like your regressionist was not very good. They should have guided you and gave you this information beforehand. If they are pressing for you to come up with something, that is never good. It sounds like they were getting impatient and since past life regression can take a long time, that is never a good sign.

This is nothing to be frustrated about as it can take a couple of tries for something to come up and really past life regression is the best way for obtaining past life information and other methods really pale in comparison.

The key is to remain completely open to anything that might come along and go with your first intuition, even if it seems silly to your active mind and you feel like you are making it up. There's no need to conjure up some story, but to be aware of your emotions and your overall demeanor and really introspect about how you are feeling and try to see where that goes.

Let's say you are under and the therapist asks you to go back and suddenly you feel a bit sad. The therapist asks you why are you sad? Instead of using your active mind to analyze that question, just go with the first thought or fleeting image that might come into your head.

I would suggest the Laughing Cherub Guide to Past Life Regression, both the book and the audio from Amazon. Read the book first and then try the audio when you are alone. I think practicing this would help you.

If you want to try something else, I would suggest taking a lit candle and sitting quietly in a dark room and turning on some binaural beats (with headphones). I think you can find some on YouTube (must be HD) or you can download them from the internet. The ones with soothing music are the best. Binaural beats can help you achieve the brainwave state that is accessed through regression. This would be good for you perhaps leading up to another regression.

I'm sure others can give some good details I might have glossed over.

Thanks for your helpful tips Zeon ! I will definitely look into Binaural beats as a means of getting me into that right state of mind. However, I still think I may unfortunately fall into that category of people that are not receptive to regression techniques, including hypnosis. My mind is simply too analytical: Millions of thoughts are constantly flashing through my head !

On the other hand Zeon you do make a valid point about the process requiring several sessions to derive useful information, but I'm just not willing to spend thousands of $ to find out.

All of this has me now wondering whether an author of a fictional book has given away details and elements of his or her past life ? Food for thought I guess.

My sense of it is that it's not the brain per se that holds the vault full of past life memories but rather it's about tuning into a special frequency which ultimately allows you to unlock and acquire the sought after information about a previous incarnation.

Obviously this information was intentionally hidden from us with the purpose of not to distract us from our current mission in life, I get that. Though sometimes I do wonder why some people recall these memories with relative ease and others go as far to dedicate their entire life to the research of reincarnation ? ?

It took me three tries using self-regression tapes many years ago. Not everyone succeeds the first time they try a regression. I'll send you a PM.

If you are capable of becoming completely invested in a movie, music, jogging, nature, etc. to the point of forgetting yourself, then I think you're capable of the right state of mind. (I'm always a bit woozy walking out of movie theaters because I don't snap out of it that quickly. Heh.)

Disengaging the analyst and saving it for later is the challenge. Maybe frame it as "suspension of disbelief" and allow your mind to play out whatever happens to be on the channel at the time, just like you would allow the tv to play out whatever is on as you rest? Might work.

Well perhaps I should state that I'm not completely clueless about my past life's. Within me there is residual emotional attachments to specific time eras. But it's this compelling desire to want to know more.

Mere DReamer: I know exactly what you mean when you talk about completely immersing yourself in a movie or piece of music. Heck when I watched Jurassic Park I felt a strong connection to the Triassic period For all I know I might have been a Dino at one point down my soul lineage.

Hi mtobler

Welcome to the forum.

Meditation, like everything else, takes a bit of practice to get good at it. It is easier for some than others, but nobody is born knowing how to do it. I can give you a few good tips.

You need to be in the right 'zone' before you begin. A bit like trying to see the bottom of a pond, you will get nowhere if the surface of the pond is covered in ripples, so you need to learn how to quieten the mental 'chatter' that will interfere with your ability to concentrate and relax.

You shouldn't be stressed, anxious or in a hurry when trying this. You need to find a place where you feel safe and will not be disturbed. It would be wise to try it after a quiet day spent doing something restful and preferably solitary, but not involving loud music, TV or computer screens. Avoid stimulants like c0ffee or sugar. All of this will help you to create a 'blank canvas' to work on without all the modern distractions we are so familiar with.

Some people who have trouble stopping themselves from overthinking have had success with this method.

Active meditation

Give it a try it just for the practice, without any expectation that it will 'work', or anything will happen other than you begin to learn a new skill. Once you can actually hold an image in your mind for 5 minutes without your attention wandering off, you are starting to get the hang of it.

tanguerra, Thanks for the meditation techniques. Many years ago I actually took meditation classes to calm down my extreme nervousness and after some time it started to sooth my body & spirit. So maybe taking up meditation again isnt such a bad idea after all.

I've also contemplated whether not lucid dreaming could be useful to uncover past life memories as well, but that takes an equal amount of effort to fully master.

Hello mtobler,

I share your problem. Meditation never worked for me. It was like banging into a wall. But a few months ago I tried pendulum dowsing. Since then I discovered some very interesting things. For example:

I'm writing fanfiction-stories (Starwars) - just for fun. But there was one very dark little story about a young girl in a really desperate situation, committing suicide in the end. This was no fun at all and I always wondered how and why I wrote this story. It was so depressing but I HAD to write it down. But it haunted me nevertheless - for years. It was like a gloomy bedtime story I told myself whenever I was in the mood.

Now I know this story was no fantasy. It was a real PL-memory all this time hidden in my private little fantasy-world. Actually I'm quite relieved now because this thing started to bother me. Now I can handle it.

I will continue this pendulum dowsing. I think it is my way to learn about my PLs.

Thanks for the pendulum dowsing suggestion Nangijala. Can you elaborate a little further on how exactly you use the pendulum ? Is this a technique that can be used on your own or does it require a second person to be present ?

I can't be forced I will come when it's

right time . I never have had regression therapy.

It's because I see things differently from most.

Regression therapy does work from all people

that have been on here with there stories.

Your time will come when your memories of

a past life or lives begin to surface.

there is also a concept of non-accumulation...

if u dont accumulate things mentally, it is said that the memories of past lives and the knowledge of the lives of others people comes to u..

Hello mtobler,

you can do this on your own. Just grab some pendulum (maybe a ring hanging on a thread or a necklace with a heavy pendant). Prop your elbow on a table and relax your hand, holding the pendulum above the tabletop. Ask the pendulum for a definite "Yes". Wait and just relax. Eventually the pendulum will start to swing. Maybe it will swing to and fro, maybe it will move clockwise or counterclockwise. Whatever it is, it means YES. And you will later see, it will always be the same movement for yes.

Then you ask for "No" and "Must not say" and "Ask later". Again you will see your pendulum will work always in the "right" direction. (You can test it asking for the day of the week or something. You should test it to be sure LOL).

And then you start asking PL-questions. You can ask at random (Did I ever live in the Middle Ages? Did I ever live in ancient Asia? Was I a man in this PL? A woman?) or you can ask more specifically (Was I ever a young girl commiting suicide? Happened this in England? Happened this in the 12. century?). From this moment on you are on the scent. (Really, it's like hunting.) You are encircling your PL step by step by asking more and more detailed questions: Did I live BEFORE the 12. century? Did I live AFTER the 12. century. Did I live IN the 12. century? Was I born between 1150 and 1180? Between 1155 and 1166? Was I born later? Earlier? And so on.

You can ask for your appearance (Had I brown eyes in this PL? Had I blue eyes? Had I lovely golden curls? Was I baldheaded? Was I thin? Was I fat?). You can ask for your family and your relations (Did I know my mother in this PL? Was she related to me? Was she my father in this PL? Did she love me? Did she beat me black and blue?) You can ask for your standard of life (Was I a peasant? Was I a knight? Was I rich? Was I starving?) You can ask whatever you wish.

Just remember this: Your pendulum can answer only with Yes or No (at the best! Sometimes you will get no answer at all. ;) ). So you have to word your questions very carefully. And you should always repeat your questions for confirmation. Repeat them several times. In different sessions.

And don't push it. You have to be patient especially in the beginning. There will be great sessions full of information. And there will be boring sessions full of frustration. This depends from your personal situation. Don't use your pendulum when you are tired, hungry, distracted, in a bad mood. Choose your right time, relax, ask your question and just let your pendulum go. Sometimes it will show you things you didn't ask for. And sometimes it will stand still like a rock or say to you for the umpteenth time: Ask later! Just accept it. Go with the flow.
