Reuniting attempt 17th Century England

Hello there, I was wondering if there are any 17th century Englishmen and woman in the house. I'd be especially interested to find out if any of my past life's peers made it to the 21st century somewhere. Or anybody who recognizes me during combat in the Scottish English Civil war. :)

Here it is :)

My name was Diana Devonshire (1632-1664). I was Born In Reading, Berkshire with a brother named Derek jr, Anya and Tanya. Diana Christine Devonshire was 8 when she was out on the streets with her parents enjoying the view the hills. I lived near the water front and Dad had a boat on the dock. At the age of 10 Diana and her family were attacked by Royalists and one of them charged after me with a sword getting ready to slay me, my Dad Derek Bothel Devonshire intervened reassuring my Mom; Christine Devonshire that he would hold off the knights as me, my Mom and my sisters;Anya and Tanya to get on his ship to sail to Glasgow Invernesshire. Derek Devonshire was killed in a raid so we had to send Derek Jr. to the Orphanage because none of us girls could raise him due to the gender of me, Tanya, Anya and my Mother; us girls sailed to Glasgow as we settled in a hut. Anya past away from a sickness on the way to Scotland I believe leaving Tanya and me training to fight while we stayed at the hut in the countryside. We then sailed to Devon fighting a year later alongside my family during the English Civil War and fought with the 16 and 19th Battalion? My Mom was slain a year later in 1644. When the war ended me and Tanya settled in the countryside of Shropshire in 1650 and meet a broom maker named Derek I married him. Can't decipher his last name at this point but we had a son named Abraham in 1655. I was a healer in Shropshire and a lot of locals came to me to heal them. In 1664 I was token to Nottingham riding in a carriage for a sum of gold for my husband. I found myself shackled in chains, as I was trailed and the judge told me what I was accused for witchcraft, I saw hanging bodies from a rope. I was thrown down and beaten in the chest and the last thing I can remember, I was punched in the face with a club like device.

East Reading...

Hi Twilight...I have a memory of a life in Willerby, East Reading at the end of the 1600's early 1700's. It is not a very clear memory...I see my house and the church from afar. I see myself but have no names. I do feel however very safe and carefree in this memory...nice to meet you!!! ;)

Nice to meet you too :)

Hi, Twilight! Welcome to the forum. I'm exploring the possibility that I was Admiral Sir William Penn (1621-1670), father to the more famous founder of Pennsylvania. I do remember many things that seem to "match" his life, including attending my own funeral where I was interred in the wall of a great Bristol church. I'm especially interested in this diary because Penn happened to be Sam Pepys's coworker and neighbor, but it might be fun for anyone from that time period to browse through. wellllllcome

Jody, if you are Sir William, I am one of your genetic descendants. In the PL world, does that make us relatives? It's strange to consider.

Yeah and I have an ancestor who has even meet your son face to face :) . his daughter married my direct ancestor I believe. Man it's a small world

Wow! It is indeed small. When you start digging around on Ancestry.com, it seems most of are related. I'll have to look up my tree, and get the specifics on Sir William. My grandmother always said he was a relation, but the family didn't believe her before I started doing research.

Wow! That's pretty amazing. I never cease to be amazed at the serendipity one finds at this forum ... and the topic of reincarnation in general ...

BTW, I just found this website that talks a lot about the Penn family. It's pretty harsh in its condemnation of what it considers to be at the center of centuries of colonialism. Maybe that's why my life sucks so much right now ... karma has come round to bite me in the rear.

Admiral Sir William Penn (you, Jody?) was the son of Giles Penn, who was my ancestor. Giles went bankrupt, and turned to piracy on the Barbary Coast. I often wish my ancestors had been a little more inventive with their sons' names. It becomes very confusing. The Penns named everyone "William", or "Giles". I have wondered if I have a PL connection to them as well. How did you discover that you might have been William?

Well, BriarRose, I did some more research yesterday and I'm starting to doubt everything again. The mind hates a vacuum and wants to fill in the blank spaces, and one can only really do that with famous people whose life has been recorded. I can tell you that when I was around 12 or 13 I started having detailed past life memories. I remember being an *English* sea captain with a rather cocky, tough-guy personality. I had two sons and was married to a wealthy widow, and became a captain at a very young age. I remember this person having lived through the revolutionary war. He was almost certainly a Mason or Rosicrucian. A few years later I visited Paris, and recognized the opera at Versailles. I knew I had definitely been there. Soon after I visited London, and I knew I'd been there, too. I visited places where Penn worked and was locked up at, and this was well before I knew anything about him. Many, many years later (2006, when Cheney shot his friend in the face) I was in the library to do some research about Aaron Burr, who I figured might have been Cheney in a former life. He was the only other vice president who'd ever shot anyone in office! :) Anyway, while I was there in the Revolutionary war section, I heard a voice tell me to look up John Paul Jones, who wasn't English at all and died a bachelor in Paris. It turns out I had a *lot* in common with Jones, esp. my handwriting. So this really confused me, and later on this site I started looking into Samuel Pepys, whose diary I'd discovered years before and had always been fascinated with. I remembered Sir William and it turns out he had a lot of things in common with my past life memories that Jones didn't (like being English, married, with two sons, who lived in London but was buried in Bristol), except he was alive a full century earlier. However, I just found out yesterday that he wasn't buried in the wall, and I definitely remember that. So I don't know what to think. But it is pretty striking how much Penn and Paul Jones have in common.

That's interesting, Jody. I think we have a connection somewhere, and I thought Sir William might be it. I have to confess, I wondered the same thing about Cheney and Burr. You'll find your Revolutionary War connection eventually. I think my husband might have been Button Gwinnett, and sometimes I call him "Button". Of course, he doesn't remember. He once drove down the street with a toilet seat and a Christmas tree stand on top of the car, because he forgot he put them there. He could hardly be expected to remember signing the Declaration of Independence a few centuries ago!
