She chose me....

I just have a cute story to share about my kids. Earlier today my 2 year old was mad at me because I wouldn't giver her her sisters toast. She told me that she didn't like me and that I was "tupid". At that my 4 year old looked over at her and said,"Well dummy, YOU chose her to be your mama!" To which my 2 year old said, "No I didn't!" The older one said, "Yes you did, Taniah. We ALL do!"
Then she looked at me with her big blue eyes and said sweetly, "Mama, I'm glad I chose you. And I'm glad I picked your name to be Tammy. "Your the best Mom I ever had!!"

(sigh) That makes everything we go through as Mothers (a mostly thankless job) worth it, doesn't it? As far as I am concerned, it is I who is glad she picked me! And if it was the other way around, I think I would have picked HER!

That is a very sweet story! It made me remember the day my daughter said that to me too. "Mommy I picked you." It's the little things like that, that can make me soar for weeks.

I once talked with a special little guy (6 years old now) and he said that before he came here he was sitting on a cloud and looking at his parents-to-be, waiting for the time to come when he could be born. He simply stated this matter-of-factly and went on with his playing.
