Sixteen Years After Katrina, Hurricane Ida to Slam Louisiana

A very powerful Category 4 storm (wind gusts to 185 mph) with sustained winds just below Category 5. If you have a moment, pray for Louisiana. There was not enough time for extensive evacuation. So, they'll just have to "hunker down" where they are:

Once again, a very strange coincidence, Katrina also hit Louisiana on August 29, 16 years ago:

It was not as strong as Ida which has sustained winds around 150 mph, but Ida may not be hitting in as vulnerable area. The damages from Katrina were catastrophic, so things don't look good for the folks in Ida's path.
