Son seeing a ghost/spirit

My son has for years complained, that he has seen a little girl ghost by his room off and on.
He uses a nightlight in his bathroom by his room because of it. He started seeing her about 6yrs ago. He says that she is like a shadow he can not see her face clearly. He again saw her a few days ago. Now he is 15 yrs old. And I just did not want to transpose my ideas on to him. I am open, but at the same time want him to make up his own mind. And not believe just because I do. What should I do or say. He told me that this little girl was looking at him – like hiding around the corner and waiting to scare him. But when he saw her he thought it was me playing around with him. And then he came to living room where I was sitting at computer. So he knew it was not me. And I have not known what to say.

Any suggestions would help

Bear in mind that I have no expertise or personal knowledge of ghosts. However, with that said, I would, if he were my son, take him aside and tell him, that he is very fortunate to see what most people can't; but that he should be careful about who he tells about this experience, because many people are very jealous and fearful of such experiences. With that done, I would then tell him how important it is to have compassion for the little girl, who is probably quite lonely; and that prayers would help her quite a bit as well.

However, he is not my son, and I'm very jealous that he's able to see ghosts. You don't have to tell him that, though.

This has been going on for 6 years? Wow. Has the little girl ever done anything other than looked at him? Has he ever tried to communicate with her? I doubt she means any harm. Like Nightrain said, she's probably lonely. She probably hangs around him because he's the only one that sees her. I don't think he has anything to be afraid of, but I can see how it might be a little unsettling to him.

I sat down and asked him to explain to me what he actually saw. This is what he told me.

He has only seen her 2 times, but senses her presence often.

The 1st time he saw her he said he was walking into his dim room to go to bad. And he saw her shoulders. He stopped and his heart was beating fast after it stopped he could still see her, but walked right thru her anyway. He kept saying to himself “I do not see that – I do not see that”. And he went to bed.

When he saw her a few days ago he said he was in his room and as he looked up toward hallway he saw her trying to get back as if not to let him see her. “That is why he thought it was me playing around with him”. But as he looked into hallway and bathroom, he did not see anyone. He went to living room and saw me busy on computer.

About 2 months ago he was looking at Ghost Hunters online and vent over stove came on for no reason.

A few years ago he also told that when he was toddler he saw a tall old man when he played in the closet at his granny’s house and he would talk to him. So when we went to see his granny a few years ago we told her about this. And she asked what that man looked like. And she said wow that was your great grandpa (Her dad). And she said she would walk into the room because she would her him (my son) talking to someone. But thought he was just talking to his toys.

FYI: By the way it was a small closet and door would stay open and his box of toys were right in side and he would sit ½ in bedroom ½ in closet.

Even with all that he has told when he was young. I was still afraid for him to believe because I do. I have always read everything supernatural that I get my hands on.

It fascinates me so much. I guess the unknown is something to just be in awe of.

Sorry this got long. :D

Oh, and I told him what you said Nightrain1, (However, he is not my son, and I'm very jealous that he's able to see ghosts. You don't have to tell him that, though)

He started laughing.

And he has not tried communicating with the little girl. He is to scared to do that. I am going to let him know that he needs to pray for her and be compassionate as Nightrain1 suggested.

Thank you Truthseeker I will let him know that he should not be afraid and that he can try to help her to move on by praying for her.

I wish I could see her. I see what a lot of other people see. That is I will be sitting at computer or reading something and I see a shadow move in the corner of my eye. But I just demise it as a trick of the eye. :freak:
