Soul Groups

So, I have been pondering soul groups, i.e. what connections I have with family members, etc.

Today, I got to thinking about my work for the past 25+years (Special Education Teacher) and why I went into the field, (in my eyes it wasn't from having a great noble cause), who I have met over the years, and just now beginning to realize that all along there were probably past life connections with my job and people I have met in the field, whether I have liked them or not.

Maybe in a past life, I had a developmental disability, myself...
I know I have met people who gravitate to the same time periods and/or places I do, and I have started to pay attention to that more.

Anyway, I know there are probably some threads on this topic, but would like to hear from others here, whether you have figured out soul groups, or are still searching based on synchronicities, as well.

I don't really try to figure out soul groups, I think it's a dynamic concept. I don't think we're bound to people by some "material" connection, I think we're tied to people by unfinished business, affinities, or maybe the simple fact that we already know them and we are comfortable with what we know. When I say we're not tied to a "material" connection, I mean that I don't think we share our soul, or part of our soul, or that we come from the same place (different than other soul groups). I know some people consider the idea of soul mates as the other half of your soul. So well, I don't think soul groups are anything of the like, it's more of a political tie (like marriage) than a blood tie, to say it in everyday terms.

Is there people that I have encountered more than once throughout my lives? sure. Do I consider them part of my soul group? I guess, as much as I could consider someone part of my group of friends or not. Could they stop being part of my soul group? If they never show up again and none of us has nothing to solve, I don´t see why not.

True, re: 'soul groups' being dynamic or that who we meet may be unrelated to past lives. I can see how we would meet unfamiliar souls in order to grow,or just because, but at the same time, I think that sometimes we encounter people from past lives who we either knew because of a common interest/cause, or we may not have known them, but we were involved in the same kind of cause, etc.

Sure. I agree with all of the above.

I think it works in much the same way as present life friendship groups work. We tend to 'gravitate' to people we enjoy, find exciting, amusing, think we can learn from, or are in other ways 'attracted' to. Sometimes we make new friends. Sometimes we fall out with old ones.

These people are not always 'good' for us! Sometimes they get us into 'trouble'. As usual, it's an individual thing in my view. But somehow, we just enjoy being with them because they stimulate us or make us laugh or make us think or whatever it might be.

I think these groups blend and shift over the years, just like a regular friendship/family group, but more slowly - over the course of numerous lives rather than just one.

The idea of fluidity makes much more sense to me than rigid groupings.

At the same time, there is an element of deep connection that can't be debated, IMO, since I have experienced recognizing these people as vitally important even over the internet, even before I believed in reincarnation, to the point where I acted against a lifetime of programmed depression just to build friendships with them.

Maybe it is a group with who I have shared multiple positive past lives?... or ... Maybe we agreed to work together as a core group for a time?

I haven't experienced a "twin soul" yet, so I can't personally say if there is anything more than what I have encountered. It seems to me there are several plausible explanations out there, and it doesn't matter much to me which is correct, so long as we are connected somehow.

When I was one of the people running a leading peace group many years back now I was very conscious that I would have known some of the other people running this group before, because part of the reason we had incarnated (and certainly the reason we had met up again) was because we had agreed we would be doing this work before we were born and it was part of our (non-personal) reasons for coming back again.

Interesting topic, this is something I've sort of been wondering about lately. I've known a certain person in at least two lives (currently my brother) and he is no good in this life or the previous one. I sort of wonder how it is that I got stuck with him. Maybe some souls are like obnoxious colleagues, rather than people in our circle of friends?

On the other hand, I've met other people with whom I feel an instant connection, and our association in this life makes more sense. When I gave birth to my son, I felt a strong recognition the first time I held him. It was like, "oh, it's you!" My daughter and I also have a definite connection, as we always know what the other one is about to say. We've even made a little game of it.

I've not experienced having a soul mate, and I don't think I have one. I never believed in this concept until reading other people's experiences, so I suppose that some people do actually have soul mates. I adore my hubby, he's just not a soul mate. In fact, I don't feel any past life connection to him at all, but we get on very well in this life.
