Teens & Young People on the Past Life Forum?

I have found it impossible to ‘fit in’ with other teens my age (17), & I realize I’m really not missing out on anything. I don’t wear Hollister or know the hottest music band, nor do I text or play Wii. Almost everything I wear, watch, listen to, or do is historically related in some way, though I’m not obsessed with it and enjoy learning new things.
The average teens I’ve met do not think about what’s really important in life, what happens after death, past lives, what dreams really mean, the past or future, etc. It hasn’t even crossed the minds of some adults yet.

When I recently joined this forum, I was surprised at the young age of some posters. I was under the impression that this forum was more for adults and I would be one of the only teens on here, (a reason I didn’t join, just read for a while). I wondered how many other deeper thinking teens (or pretty close to teens) like me are here on this forum? I also thought posting this might make other teens thinking about joining feel more comfortable doing so.
 
Hi and welcome to the forum. My eldest daughter had many of her past life recollections when she was in her teens. She did have a fascination with corsets that dates back to a former life. She did read the posts here and it really helped her.

Im 21 just now and have been wondering about everything you mentioned above since I was around 14years old. Most of my friends then, and now, don't have any interest at all in the paranormal. At first, I didn't necessarily believe in reincarnation when I was younger, but I did have a great curiosity for the "unknown" in general.


A lot of people may be scared to think about possibilities that are not of our natural understanding. Others may just not be interested. When I first started believing reincarnation, it was really frustrating as I had no one to talk to about it. That is why this forum is such a great place. People of all ages and all backgrounds are united by our logical beliefs.


Oh, don't worry about "fitting in with the rest of the crowed", that will pass. When you start to come out of your teens you'll realize that you couldn't care less. :D

Deborah, I hope so too. I don’t think questions should be limited to your age group, I was just wondering how many other young people really thought about these things.


Kristopher, I didn’t realize you were only 21; I’ve enjoyed reading many of your posts and thought you to be much older for your deep questions. As far as ‘fitting in’ goes, I already could care less, I like being unique and ‘different’ :)
 
I only just turned twenty pretty recently. I've been reading into these kinds of subjects for as long as I can remember. You're definitely not alone, a lot of people just aren't likely to bring it up without prompting.

While I'm past the teenage years (28) I can definately relate to what you are saying! I don't know if you have read any of my previous posts but I spend more time talking about being a misfit teenager than about the subject at hand. I have heard over and over again that teenagers are fearless and not afraid of death.... you could have fooled me which is what eventually led me here.


To make a long story short, individuals have a rough time during the teenage years and finding intelligent opinions in this subject can be like finding a needle in a haystack but don't forget there are plenty of very intelligent 13-19 year olds out there. Last year while I was at lunch there was a group of 16-17 year olds discussing Stephen Hawking's theories and they had a better grasp of it than 99% of adults including me. I generally prefer talking to people younger than me because while they may be naive at times they are usually much more open minded and receptive to new paradigms.
 
I'm 24 now, but first became interested in past lives when I was around 16 (and put it on the back burner when I went to college, but this year I became interested again after some weird stuff started happening).


Even when I was a kid, I LOVED history and wished I had lived in the mid-20th-century- music, TV, clothes, household appliances, etc. from that era just seemed "really cool" to me. Amusingly, when I was very little, I liked the 1950s, at around age 9-10 I started liking the 1960s, and now I'm into the 1970s. I'm wondering if this corresponds to how old I was back then. If I died prior to that in WWII and wasn't born as me until the 1980s, it would've been a short life in between. :(
 
Hollis – I realize many people (young or old) don’t talk about these things freely, that’s another reason why I love this forum so much – everyone shares on an equal level.

I totally agree! Thank you for your understanding. And yes, I know there are others around my age that question & think about these things, they are just few and far between.


Pixarfan – I also love history, though quite a bit older then what you’re talking about! I have also wondered if as you grow up in this life you go through fazes of liking things you did at that same age in a past life…

When I first joined this forum I was 18. I actually think it's more common to wonder about your past life memories during your teens and early 20's than later in life. Later in life (if they didn't start early) people seem to be more focused on the philosophical aspects of reincarnation than in their personal experiences, but I' m sure there are exceptions.

I recently joined the forum, and I just turned 12; Lady2, your post really gave me the courage to join, thank you :)


I've been reading the children's past lives section for a few days; and I'm really intrigued by the amount of evidence.


While on this forum, I hope to learn more about reincarnation: these threads are really helping :D I remember about three things which I believe are from a past life.


1. In a large house on a big patterned red carpet, with a girl playing toys and a man enters. I'm around 2-5 years old.


2. Teen around 16-19 years old with a bike, in a small room.


3. Jumping off a large building (wasn't 9/11 as I was born on the 1st of July 2001)


I plan to do an audio past life regression soon; is there any that you can recommend?

Welcome to the forum. I grew up Catholic also. Most Catholics and Christians do not realize that reincarnation used to be in the Bible. Most references to reincarnation were removed from the Bible several hundred years ago because of politics. Kings and popes did not want people to know they had more than one lifetime. A few things remain in the Bible. Until now most Catholics and Christians have been afraid to talk about their past life memories. They are afraid that people will either think they are crazy or they are going to burn in "Hell". But now with so many young children talking about things that can be researched on the internet and proven to be true people are changing their minds. You should look at the videos in the video archive section of this forum. You can also find past life regression videos on YouTube. I think there is one with Dr. Brian Weiss. Are you able to get books on reincarnation? Look for books by Carol Bowman and / or Brain Weiss.

The youth perspectives on reincarnation can be interesting.


Youth can be young-enough to remember those childhood memories where PL recall is the strongest; yet "old enough" to reassess these childhood memories of PL recall. Young-adults expressing interest in reincarnation also invites further discussion.


Can it be said that youth who express interest in reincarnation are more likely than adults to have "memories of interest" regarding past lives?


One good assessment of youth who report strong deja-vu memories of possible PLs might be their interpretations, feelings, etc. of "adult responsibilities" in a past life. Hence, such interpretations would be very notable!
