The 60's

I have a very, very strong connection to the 60's mainly...some of the 50's and 70's...
I believe I may have been a young adult during the middle 60's.
I have a very vivid memory of being in a kitchen, by myself, doing dishes. Its snowing outside and I can see the TV from where I am. President Kennedy has just been shot. I remember the carpet being brown, plate hanging on the wall, and its snowing outside. I have been trying to find where in the US it was snowing that day. I believe it was that day and not any day after.
But, when I hear music, see footage, read about that time my heart starts to ache or something...its weird. I also feel very sad that people who are alive today that lived during that period are getting older and will leave me behind....its so weird! I don't feel comfortable talking about it with many ppl, bc of course they look at me like I'm crazy. I know all of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

BTW I was born into this life in 1983. I think it was a very quick transition. I believe it had to have been from drugs or something.hippie-history-pentagon-march.jpg

I have a life in the 60's too, I was born in 1975 in this life, and I know I died quite young, I couldn't have been over 30, in an aircraft accident (I'm pretty sure it was a helicopter but I couldn't validate it). I lived in West Germany during the Cold War. I was a German working as an engineer in the US Army stationed there, and I have some fun memories of watching baseball in the television we had in the barracks, thinking "Americans are just crazy about baseball", while I was trying to read the paper.


I also remembered the day President Kennedy visited West Germany and we had to get ready for the military parade, that memory was just awesome and one of my greatest verifications, as I had absolutely no idea Kennedy had been in Germany then.


I think I also have a great affinity for 60's and 70's music that comes from this past life... and not only because my current eldest brother is a big fan too and he influenced me a lot during childhood. Those were great times and you're right it's not too easy to find people with past lives in that era, maybe because it is too recent...

Drugs were everywhere during that period. I think that everyone who was there will agree... I had my own issues with those as well.

She got caught up in life of a hippie


everything bad happened to her.


She died of over dose she about 18- 19?
 
I had a life in the 1960's ... and I am still here! wine** If I can help any of you, let me know. I was born in 1961. One of my earliest memories is standing beside the television and holding onto it watching the funeral procession for John F. Kennedy and then the shot of his son saluting his Dad's coffin. So very very sad. :'(


He died November 22, 1963. It was probably snowing most everywhere. If you can figure out a general area or can get it down to a couple of towns or counties I can ask my friends at accuweather to check the weather that day for you.
 
I was a teenager in the 60's and I'm still here, also. I was sitting in my 8th grade algebra class when we got the news Kennedy had been shot. It was the Friday before Thanksgiving, the same as 2014. What a shock! It was like 9-11 or Pearl Harbor. The summer of 1963 he visited Europe. His grandfather's hometown in Ireland, the famous speech in West Berlin, and Paris. In Paris he introduced his wife Jackie and then sat down. His wife spoke fluent French so she gave the speech herself. The French went crazy, "the American President's wife speaks French!". She also redecorated the White House and gave the first TV tour of the White House. She liked French Provincial furniture so during the 60's French Provincial was "in". President Kennedy was the first president who didn't wear a hat. So that's when men in general stopped wearing hats.

Now count me in as another that was around here in the 60's for was born in 1956. Am still here and it has been a great life. At the time of Kennedy's death the family was living in Colorado. And if I remember right, there it was bright and sunny. I also remember all of this when Kennedy was shot, the TV coverage and all. Do think that many who were born before Kennedy will always remember that time for it is that one news event that will be always etched in our minds. Do think society changed that day and it was not for the better.


The 60's were some decade with Kennedy, Martin Luther King, the Beatles, Woodstock and Rock & Roll, Vietnam, Nixon, and finishing up with us humans walking on the moon. And do still remember it all.

Yes, the death of JFK was a turning point in our history. It was all downhill after that. It was after his death that people started calling his the "Camelot" presidency.

I remember that now! I wonder if Jackie had a past life in France?

I'm so happy that I came across this website, and the post of MaryTheArtist! I too, believe I lived between the 1950's- mid to late 1970's. I was born in 1981, so I believe I was reincarnated quickly.


Since I was a child, I've had flashbacks and dreams of what I believe to be a past life, that I still have some sort of attachment to in this life. I have flashbacks of being a girl, being from a wealthy family, living in a Victorian house, going to a boarding school, taking ballet classes, being very athletic, being Jewish (I am Catholic in this life), and living in New York City in The Winter... I also feel extremely connected to certain songs from the 1960's and particularly Disco Music of the 1970's.


When I have these flashbacks or dreams, They are so extremely "real".. Not only do I remember extreme details, but everything sensory that was going on in the moment.. For example, the smell of cigarette smoke (I don't smoke in this life, but believe I smoked in that life), the sounds of glasses clinking at fancy bars/restaurants, the smell of perfume etc...


When I watch old movies or television shows from this period of time, I feel a direct connection to them, almost like I'm watching things over again, yet it is the first time I have seen these things in this life...


I am not sure how i died in that life, although, I have always had the feeling that it was suddenly and unexpected.. and I have the feeling that in this life, I need to put the pieces together of that past life in order to make peace with it... if that makes any sense?

Welcome to the forum. Yes, it certainly sounds like past life recall. If you had to guess, what pieces do you think you have to put together? What is the main emotion in all this for instance? Is it happiness, sadness, nostalgia..?

I was born in 1961 and a total disco fan (love love love it :D ) If I can help let me know.


The coolest thing is a family member is someone who I knew in this lifetime that died and came back as a close relative. The connection and how I figured out the past life was disco. :)
 
I might have had a life in the 60's. I really like the styles of the time. I enjoy watching Mad Men. I also like the hippie movement and could relate to it. Its strange that I can relate both to the MadMen 60's yuppie culture as well as to the hippie culture. I buy a lot of dresses for work that evoke that style.
 
Many of you younger people may not know that before there were "hippies" in the 60's there were "beatniks" in the 50's. Have you watched the 60's TV program "Gilligan's Island" which is in perpetual re-run? In the 1950's there was a TV program called "Dobie Gillis". The "Gilligan" actor (Bob Denver?) played a beatnik named "Maynard" on the "Dobie Gillis" program.

Nostalgia is the biggest emotion that I feel when I have these dreams or flashback...I feel as though I am lonely for this possible past life... yet I have no idea what I can do in this life to find answers.. but I have this strange feeling like I need to look for answers and not just wonder....

Yes, it was Bob Denver and he played beatnik Maynard G. Krebbs. I was born in 1950, lived through the 1960s but nowhere near any hippies or drugs. Didn't much drugs around until the 1970s actually, in my neck of the woods. Definitely remember the day Kennedy was shot and the funeral, but I can't tell you if it was snowing or not (I did grow up in the "snow belt," so it very well could have been).
