The physical wounds that carry over

We talk of our skills, traits and similarities we remember from past lives often, as well as our emotional baggage we must contend with...But what about the physical wounds we've received in the past?
I had this experience just this summer that made me think more about this.
That week my right thigh had been hurting badly (more noticeable when first waking up, or when my mind was on other things I would suddenly notice it). I would unconsciously start limping, then I would catch myself. This happened for a few days for no apparent reason, and I didn't think much of it until I had a dream. It was of a past life I had not remembered before, 1800s, wilderness, in which I had been shot off my horse (in my right thigh exactly where it had been bothering me). In the dream I managed to crawl home, and met my wife at the doorstep, repeatedly saying "the bullet never reached my saddle!" She looked at it, lightly brushing her fingers over the wound, I could feel the pain in such a real way. I knew the bullet had to come out, but didn't know if I could possibly stand it. I woke up to feel the pain fading away...
It's never bothered me since, but it made me wonder if when it was bothering me before the dream, was the same days it had happened before? Why else would I remember/experience it, other then for healing...How these different wounds carry over is almost eerie at times. Your thoughts?

Like most aspects of reincarnation, I don't think anyone can give you an accurate answer, but it is an interesting question that I've also asked myself from time to time.

In one past life that I can remember, I died as an adolescent girl when I fell from a horse and broke my neck. I can't remember my exact age in that lifetime, but it must have been around 16-18 years old. In my present life, when I was about 16, I awoke one morning paralyzed by a pain in my neck which was so excrutiating that I seriously thought that I had somehow managed to break my neck in my sleep! I've had similar problems at various intervals ever since, and tests and x-rays have revealed no explanation other than a very slight kink in the verterbrae which has been there since I was born.

I've often wondered if it's just a coincidence that the problems started when I was around the same age as when I died in that past life, or if there's any relation at all between the condition I have today, and the way I died in that past life, which I didn't actually remember until a few years ago.

The mind, the *soul* (whatever you call it) and the body are highly interactive *things*. We are beings made up of these three parts though, like it or not. Whether there is a 'scientific explanation' or not.

It's no surprise if sometimes there are crossovers between these aspects of our 'selves'. If you feel a pain in your body in a certain place and it conjures up a memory/feeling of a similar time when you felt a similar pain, this is no accident.

A more interesting question than asking 'Could this be connected?' is to ask 'What is this trying to tell me?'. What is going on in your present life that resonates with this feeling? (You don't have to tell me. Tell your journal.)

See my story of such a similar 'pain' incident below. [Warning: scarey do not read].

Thanks for both of your replies, always interesting to hear your thoughts.

That's interesting Chris, how your age in your current life connected with your age in your past life...I wondered if that was the case with me as well. Not sure of my age in the dream, though I think I was older. I have had other experiences happen that related to my age, or a specific date...I just find how the past and present can overlap like that so fascinating. I don't think we fully understand it all yet.

For anyone dealing with chronic pain, whether past life related or not, "The Mindbody Prescription" and "The Divided Mind", by Dr. John E. Sarno, are enormously helpful. I had crippling lower leg pain for seven months-I read Dr. Sarno's books, accepted his theories, and was free of pain in three weeks. I hadn't considered that the buried emotion he references might be past life related, instead of from this one, but there it is! If anyone is troubled by "unexplainable" pain, please give his books a try.

Now personally all my life I have had a lung sensitivity. Growing up my father smoked but he would always smoke outside the house on account of how much the smoke would upset me and make me cough. In this present life I have never had tuberculosis. Onetime when young, had to have a TB test from the doctor for some reason and in the test I tested positive. When the doctor saw this, he remarked quite emphatically that I did NOT have TB and completely dismissed the test. The doctor was correct and I did not have TB.

In a recent past life regression, in the last life was a young Cheyenne girl on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana which had died of a lung sickness - tuberculosis. Onetime I visited this reservation and I felt so much completely back at home. Do think that this is interesting and all.

In the 1940's I had a limp due to an accident that occurred. Ever since I was a child in this lifetime, my right leg (Knee and ankle) have given me problems and the doctors really cannot find a reason why. Its not a dehabilitating pain- More annoying than anything else, but the issues are still there, and they seem to get more pronounced either when I have been thinking about the period (although I wouldnt rule out subconscious in that one) or if there is an anniversary or something to that effect (sometimes I dont even know about it.

Its also a handy indicator of if it is going to rain... so I guess we can use those old injuries for some good... lol
