The Supply of Suitable Bodies

I am hesitant to start a new thread, but this subject is different enough to warrant a new one, so here goes.

IMHO, It is strongly possible that God can intervene in very special cases, but I believe that the supply of bodies on Earth is beholden on Nature and also on the whims of us mortals who populate the planet.

So the possibility of say, finding a Blond haired, Blue eyed, male body, that will be very handsome, excel at sports and do very well at their studies may be difficult, as we may have to depend on breeding, the gene pool, prior planning or perhaps even direct spiritual involvement to bring all of these "things" together in the same body.

How much God has a hand in the selection and/or planning of an earthly physical body, I don't really know at this point, it may be a lot of involvement here or it may just be a little.

It is possible that what we call "Nature" is tasked with providing suitable bodies for rebirth and Reincarnation, while there is an unknown force on the "Other Side" that is responsible for the spiritual aspect of the future Reincarnation process.

Just some thoughts of mine.

Here are my personal feelings. I do not believe that there is any lack as far as capable bodies in the world. I see attractive people everywhere I go. I know many people who are good athletes. I know many people who are smart. If someone is looking for a body that is Brad Pitt's looks, Michael Jordan's athletic abilities, and Albert Einstein's genius all rolled into on. It ain't gonna happen. We excel wherever our priorities lie.

There is only so much time, so whatever we chose to be good at is going to be at the expense of something else. If we want to be a great football player, we might spend all of our time practicing, or become a great academic spending all our time studying at the expense of family, friends, and leisure. I believe that I could have had a shot at being a professional athlete if I would have been willing to spend the time and do the work it took to develop talents to the point of performing at that level. The fact of the matter is I wasn't willing to make that sacrific.

On the flips side of that, though good looking to begin with, those whom we consider to be the most beautiful women in the world make great sacrifices to achieve that beauty. Hours spent on hair and makeup, hours spent in the gym keeping their body fit, and strict diets. Oh, and a little air brushing on their magazine photos. It always amazes me how these famously beautiful women without their professional hair and makeup jobs and designer clothes quite often look rather....normal. Hmmm....

Does that mean that I think that everyone is capable of being a sports star, a model, or finding a cure for cancer? No. But do I think that anyone could come back in a body that is capable of being attractive, athletic, and intelligent? Absolutely! However, just because a person is born with capabilities doesn't mean those capabilities will be realized. If I would have been born into Michael Jordan's body, not only is there a good chance that I might not have become a great basketball player, but I might have chosen to instead spend my time drinking beer and eating pizza, and end up overweight and out of shape. (I'm not overweight and out of shape. I'm just making a point. :D ) I probably wouldn't have had the drive and desire that the soul currently in Michael Jordan's body possesses.

I believe that we chose the best situation for whatever it is we desire to experience in a particular lifetime. Once we are born, whatever we chose to do with that situation is up to us.

I guess the question is does God intervene in the talents and capabilities we are born with. My opinion is 'No' but that is only my opinion. :cool

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, very interesting. I tend to wonder about this many of times. I think we will all agree that we can choose our sex and place of birth, including the type of life style, rich, poor, and so on. When we think about the possibility of choosing exactly what kind of body we can have it becomes really tricky. Many sources say that we are shown bodies that will be avalible for what ever time we wish to incarnate and we choose one.

IMO i think we can choose a body in this detailed manner. Basically making up our own body. I feel that we can do this if we have earned an easy life. Maybe, if we have karma to pay, we can only pick between what we are offered until that karma is payed off. I feel if we had done well in our previous life, in terms of soul development, then we could be given a 'free choice', a chance for us to pick our own experiences, body and lifestyle.

I agree with you about God taking control of issues like this for special cases. For such an intelligent source this would not be a hard thing to do. Say, for example, a soul had picked to incarnate as a male. Obviously there is something at work there because if there wasnt, chances of him being male would be 50/50, so I think that God does this all the time. I also believe people can choose to have a disability from birth.

I agree with this. We can choose the basics but when it comes to what we want to make of it, its up to us.

Once again, Tinkerman, I agree with your comments...we are on the same page.

Kristopher, I agree to a point...and feel one's choice of body is a starting point, the soul can mold the growth of that body to an extent to make it fit what its intentions are.

I don't think one earns an easy life...rather one chooses and easy life. Also I don't consider karma to be retributional or payback, but instead more of a balance. Karma isn't so much "paid back" as the other side reviewed or experienced, and it happens whenever it happens...not on a set schedule of "this now, then that". With that said, I think that the soul always has a free choice to pick its own experiences, body and lifestyle...the karma will take care of itself in whatever situation one finds oneself (the pre-life planning provides knowledge of opportunities that will be available in each lifetime).

Your theory is a lot better than mine and I hope you are right. It would be great to know that we really are in control of every incarnation we have.

Have Body, Will Travel!

I agree, for the most part, with all of you, the points you brought up bear serious thinking about, however on focusing on one thing, I overlooked the aspect of personal and financial considerations in a lifetime. :o

I also concur, on the part about what you make of your life, once your "life plan" is decided upon and the body procured, then what you do with that body is up for grabs, one can take of it and hopefully it will serve you well, or you can let it go and abuse it (my health training is talking now!) ;)

Granted, with age, there is a certain amount of "letting go" that is inevitable and built in, but I'm sure that this is also figured into the "life plan" while on the other side, for the most part, I believe the planning is very precise and well thought out, rather like a 300 page business plan of sorts! :)

Oh well, just some more of my ramblings!

Thanks Kristopher...I would hesitate to consider it "better", rather my guidance told me a few years ago that "if it makes sense, feels good when you think of it and provides a benefit to the soul, it reflects a truth" so that is what I discuss here. I include with that alot of what guidance has told me as well, but he doesn't require the credit!

I have always been prone to food addiction AND weight problems, and medical issues that come with weight problems. I highly believe I have struggled with food addiction because I was a starved child in the Holocaust in my last life and dealing with current life worthiness issues. If I was born into a body with a super high metabolism and if I ate and ate whatever and whenever I wanted... and not gain an ounce what would I have learned from this? I believe that being overweight not only has to teach me to acknowledge my addiction and make me realize my subconscious fears of starvation are just fears that are not gonna come true this time...but when someone is overweight and not taking care of themselves it is a wake up call to them to find a way to achieve a balance within. I hated my body most of my life but I feel that having this body was necessary for my growth and development. Sure our egos want to take the easy way out but not our souls. In fact before we plan our lives our souls are so eager to take whatever challenge it can take to evolve and the spirit guides are the ones that say "hold your horses.. that will be way too much for you".

If we can choose what type of body we have, do you think that we can choose the same type of body over and over again?

I am sure it is possible but hardly likely from a souls desire standpoint...the idea is to experience all that is available, not to relive the same sort of experience with a body built for one sort of life...childbirth from an athletic male body? Physically imposing and powerful from a petite female body? I sense that it is less about body than we tend to consider...more about what we, as souls, choose to do with that body. Sure it is nice to have amazing looks and physique...even better to include charm, poise and wealth, however if those things do not address what the soul intends for that lifetime, it won't be considered.

I had a choice of coming into the body of a man who had enormous wealth, looks and celebrity, but I chose the one I now have because a) I would be in contact with more and closer soulmates, b) would have an opportunity to become aware of who I am, and c) would live a long time...that other lifetime, while it began within three months of the lifetime I chose, it ended several years ago and I would have had four foreshortened lifetimes in one century...and my goal is to live long in this one...especially with so many soulmates around for the events to come.

Was the choice between being that man and the life you have now, or was there other choices? When you say a choice, do you mean you were showin options? I am wondering if we are shown recommendations from our guides at first. Maybe if we dont wish to go with what we are shown, we can then request what we want?

There were several choices, and the man referenced above was one of them. His timeframe was inline with my needs but some of the more dramatic experiences his life was going to include were not highy desireable, and again, the deal breaker was the brevity of his time on earth...a high probability he wouldn't live past 50. Regardless the attraction for that life was the strong challenge to try to find a sense of yourself through the incredible amount of noise and distraction inherent in living at that level of materiality and public exposure.

Unlike things that have been written about being shown which lives to choose from and seemingly pushed toward one or the other, mine was more like I knew the choices and guidance did not tell me which body/life I should take...there was no sense of an authority telling me I had this group to choose from and to pick one. Rather it was an enjoyable and lively discussion and analysis of which lifetime would most closely match my priorities and desired experiences for this incarnation. Interestingly my top three selections were all american men.
