Tried a self-hypnosis thing - any opinions?

The first thing, I didn't visualize much, sometimes vague impressions. I'm not very good at visualizing. He would ask a question and say the first thing that came to mind, so this is what popped into mind (and a lot of it I don't remember).

How old are you: 14
What are you wearing on your feet: barefoot, I think
What are you wearing: Pinafore came to mind
Name: Julie or Julia
What was the area like: rural, lots of fields
Name of the town (the only thing that came to mind was the one I grew up in during this life)
Important event: Got married, maybe age 21?
Husband's name: don't remember - Maybe Joseph
Children: 3 - Molly, Phillip, and Gregory
Occupation: housewife (could sort of see myself mopping a floor with a checkered pattern)
Did I make anything: "I made a good pot roast"
What did I accomplish: I took good care of my children
Husband's occupation: Shoemaker
How did I die: In childbirth. Thought "Did my baby survive."
Lesson learned: "Love is the answer."

Honestly, I'm sure I was just making things up, but those were the things that popped into my mind. Any chance I'm actually onto something or is it all just wishful thinking on my part? Oh, I did sort of see myself as a young woman with long slightly curled light colored hair, wearing an apron, at one point.

Hi Misty

It can take a bit of practice to really 'go deep' in a self-hypnosis session. It can also feel at first as though you are just making things up. But consider, where does your mind get the raw material from to 'make things up' out of?

Often there are things stored in your 'subconscious' from previous lives that float up surprisingly easily. It's just we're not used to using this 'muscle', so it can feel a bit funny at first. When you have a bit more experience with this stuff it will get easier and you can easily tell the difference between what is memory and what is not, usually by the amount of detail and the emotion involved.

No, I don't think you were "making it up". This is what many people think when they start doing regressions. You actually got a lot of information for the first regression. Congratulations. As you do more it will become easier.

I don't think that you were making it up. Most lives, past and present, are pretty humdrum. If you were making it up, wouldn't you have chosen a more glamorous life? Black and white checked, linoleum floors used to be really popular for kitchens. I think you made a good beginning.

I also don't think you made this up. I also felt this way when trying to see past lives, do I just make it up? I cannot know for sure-

But you have something to go on here, what do you feel about all the elements that came through; your name, your childrens name. Do you have any particular fears about giving birth etc. Just some thoughts. If it resonnates for you it may very well be true.

I don't have children, I never wanted to have children. I don't think I have a fear of it, but maybe that would have something to do with why I didn't really want them. I mean, I did used to think about adopting, so it isn't like I hate children or anything.

I also got the name of a city and another - like suburb of that city - but it was the same one I grew up in this life. Well - not the suburb part, but the city. If I had a last name I could research it I guess. I'm not sure about any of the names other than Julie or Julia, and a daughter named Molly. The others, they were all there, but I didn't remember who was supposed to be what once I "woke up."

I have talked my husband and my sister into trying it LOL

Reincarnation in the same geographic location isn't uncommon. I was born 10 miles from one of my burial spots, so that doesn't rule out that you had the city right. Did you get any sense of the year?

Initially, 1914. What sprang to mind when he asked what year I died was January 4, 1928.

Too bad I didn't hear a last name, I could look it up.

I remembered one other thing, when he asked what event was important in my childhood, I got that my father died.

I'm hoping that when you try a regression again, you will go back to the same life. Be sure to keep a record of names and dates. It would really be nice if we could "tune in" to whatever life we wanted. I wish it were that simple!

My concern now is if I try it again, I'll just conveniently "remember" the same things I did this time.

By the way - I have a session scheduled with a professional next Wednesday. I don't know what to expect - but I'll post anything interesting. She will record the session and has also agreed that I can bring my own recorder if I like. Husband's idea to bring one - he's beside himself waiting for this session, even more excited than I am I think, and doesn't want to wait for the "official" recording.

It won't be exactly the same.

That's interesting. Many husbands are freaked out at the thought of past lives.

That is really cool that your husband is open-minded and supportive. Please tell us how it goes!
I'm fortunate in that husband and I share a lot of beliefs. I couldn't imagine living with someone who wasn't as open minded. We think he was a gunfighter in a previous life, because in tense situation, he will "go for his gun." If this session for me works out, and when we can scrape up enough money for it, I'd like him to get one too.
