I have a question - maybe someone could help me?
my granddaughter has been sobbing - like a grief sobbing - when she is around a baby that is crying and sounds distressed. It started about 4 months ago with a younger cousin and is very consistent- she gets a look on her face prior to crying - like she is trying with all her might to control her emotions and then the dam breaks. She is usually a very relaxed, easy going child - very happy and cheerful.
She sobs so hard she hiccups - and then after about 10 - 15 min - it is like it is forgotten.
One day when I was asking her about it she got a strange, serious look on her face and in an almost "hard" voice - she said , " there are too many kids" - when I tried to ask her more, she just looked blank and then went on to playing.
we would all like to help her through this and have a feeling that it connects with some past memory, but are not sure how to do so. She is now 3.
thanks for listening.
