trouble with reincarnation tape

I am exploring this through a audio file - Past Life Regression With the Angels by Doreen Virtue.

My first attempt resulted in getting into a relaxed state and then I just started crying. To the point of sobbing. And I don't know why. I didn't know what to think.

So I tried again and again. While I have been able to suppress the crying it seems like I get disconnected when I try to control the crying for lack of a better term. In any case I can't find what I am looking for.

Very frustrating to say the least.

What am I doing wrong?

I don't know if I am explaining this in the best way.

I would keep trying Riktar. The fact that you are getting some kind of 'response', even though it doesn't tell you much, indicates that you are doing something right. If this is your first attempt at regressing yourself, then you've already had better results than a lot of people. So keep doing what you are doing, but don't suppress the crying, don't suppress anything, just go with it and see what surfaces.

Let us know how you get on. :)

Hi Riktar....,

Before you do a regression, ask a question ...something along the lines of..."why am I crying?" or "what are the tears for?"

I suggest Tibetan bell music, no voices or leading you to an outcome. The vibrations of the Tibetan bells bring the right and left hemisphere of the brain together allowing your consciousness to be open. Look within your heart center when the tears happen, don't try to see why.....just feel why, understand in your heart and emotional centers. This should help.

Chris is right, the fact that you go straight to an emotion is a great beginning. Next time just allow yourself to cry and feel....why.

I hope you keep us posted on your results. If you are still struggling then look into seeing a professional. We can recommend someone in your area.

Thank you both for the replies. I will try pondering while listening to the Tibetan Bells. Never heard of them before and just listening to a sample of them (How many different types are there?) has a profound effect.

I will wrap up a few things and give them a go this afternoon.

Thank you again for the suggestions!

It was suggested to me by a friend that my crying was a result of being awestruck by the presence of angels. I am not dismissing that. But if I just try to recall the sensation my gut reaction is just sadness more than anything else.

But in any case I am going to pursue this further.

I still have not seen or heard anything, but I know my crying is from anguish, guilt, etc.

Since I did not see or hear I will say I "felt" like something terrible happened to someone I care about. Not that I was a direct cause but I did not save the person. I can't tell you if it is something I miscalculated, something I overlooked, didn't try hard enough, or ignored a warning or call for help.

I threw the headphones across the room with that realization. I could not bring myself to finish the tape.

While I have somewhat calmed down I don't know if I can go through this again by myself.

I am left with one thing from this: I now understand why people are always telling me to stop over analyzing everything.

I need a few days to think this over. I think I am going to call on some friends and get there take on this.

Riktar, I don't know anyone in your area that does regressions but I wanted to pass along an idea.......sometimes a persons impression of what may have happened can be close to what did actually happen. Sometimes your unconscience really does remember even though it doesn't surface, but it does come through in daydreams or if your thinking about it, impressions.

Maybe ask yourself what do YOU think may have happened. Also think about daydreams you have. They aren't likely to be actual memories but can give you a big hint at where, when, and how you've lived a previous life. Do you have any intense interests that aren't common? Unusual habits, themes of childhood play, and phobias, etc. that you can't pin onto anything that happened in this life, those can also help give you some direction. If something intense and traumatic did happen, it's affects are likely to be showing itself in your life somehow.

Hello Riktar,

Your reaction of tears to the audio file sounds similar to many Reiki Session reactions I have seen.

I think ChrisR is right. Perservere. I think you will soon overcome this reaction and get down to the business of experiencing your past life regression.

Good luck

One of the reasons I mentioned imagining what it could be that was traumatic is partly that you may end up being right but mostly then you'll be braced for it, or something similar, when and if you do remember. If it's something that happened to you or someone you loved that you had no control over, it can help to have some idea before you face the memory. Sometimes people have guilt over a situation when someone got hurt when in reality there really is nothing they could have done or they did do everything they could have. They still feel guilty emotionally even if they were helpless to stop what happened. That's just part of how trauma works....
