When my first Granddad died (my mum's father), he was in hospital at the time, and one night my mum had a dream which she awoke from, as she opened her eyes she saw the figure of her father at the end of the bed, he reached out to her and said goodbye (or words to that effect). Because of this vision/dream she rushed to get to the hospital the next day, unfortunately, the buses were late that day and although she ran the full distance to the hospital, she just missed him by seconds.
For a long time my mum punished herself for this, until one day, myself and my sister went to see a clairvoyant (one who never charged, but offered her services openly), she went through the reading (some of which I accepted, some of which I brushed off), and at the end of it she said that she had a man standing beside her who had a message for my mum.
The man she went on to describe sounded very much like my Granddad and so when I got home I played the tape back to my mum and she burst into tears. The message was: “Sheila, I saw you running that day and I know you missed me, but I did not miss you”. The clairvoyant continued and said that he was holding out five red roses and a photograph of our family with open arms and saying “Thank you, I got them”.
When my mum had calmed down, I asked what the second part of the message meant and she told me how, when she visited my Granddad in the chapel of rest, just before his funeral, she laid five red roses representing each member of our family down, along with a photo of us all in the coffin. He was actually holding out these identical 6 objects to the clairvoyant and telling her to thank my mum. After this message my mum felt no more guilt and so the deed was complete.
I was 10 when he died, at the reading I was 18 - I never visited my Granddad at the chapel of rest, and I stayed with my other Granddad on the day of the funeral…my mum had never mentioned the details of her “gifts” to anyone – and I hadn’t told the clairvoyant my Mum’s name!!! MMMmmmmmm
