Very weird experience during self PLR

It was around 12:30 am this morning and I couldn't sleep. I thought I might as well try a PLR, because if nothing else, it might help me fall asleep.

The first image I got was of a small female person / child with brown skin, black hair, and very colorful clothing. Also either plump or large body type. I got the words, Inca and Peru.

Then, I was very agitated, shaking, and close to crying (in this life) while these thoughts were coming to me.

I'm going to be sacrificed!
I don't want to be sacrificed!
It's an honor to be sacrificed!
They've drugged me!

Then I was in a temple in the Andes, laying on what appeared to be a stone slab or on the ground, and a "priest" in ceremonial robes was behind me holding something up in the air.

That was it. When asked what I learned from that life, it was something like religion was created by men, I don't know exactly what it was supposed to be.

I had no idea if the Incas practiced human sacrifice, but I googled this morning and apparently they did, and they sacrificed children. I haven't read anything beyond that, and I can't say I haven't heard that information somewhere else along the way. I've always thought the ruins were cool and would be a neat place to visit, but I've never read much of anything about the culture or the people, and haven't really had that much interest honestly.

If this was a true PL, it might explain why I'm so anti-religion in this life. I'm not anti-God and I feel I'm a spiritual person, but religion leaves me cold. I don't want to offend anyone, but I've often said that more harm has been done in the name of religion than anything else.

Religion is only an excuse to perpetrate horrible acts. It's the pursuit of power that is the catalyst. Religion is just a good way to motivate people (whether to promote a religion or to crush it).

Interesting memory. I've wondered what was going through the minds of these sacrifices. I can't imagine a normal person willingly traipsing up to have their lives snuffed. It goes against instinct. It's especially sad to see the child mummies. They wasted all that life and for what? Their culture still collapsed. I want to go back in time and throttle some of these chiefs and tell them "Your culture might not have collapsed if you hadn't been so hell-bent on killing the upcoming generation!"

Yep, but I don't think that was really the actual lesson, and it actually sounds more like me thinking that than an actual lesson type thought. I couldn't get a grasp on the lesson aspect of it. I seldom can.

Perhaps the lesson is less about religion specifially and more about the dangers of blind obedience to any cause or dogma?

I came back here to read what I had written about this possible PL, because it has sort of been on my mind. The other night I decided to do some reading, and freaked myself out a bit. Apparently the Inca did indeed drug their child sacrifices. I also read an accounting of the child to be sacrificed being led up the mountain by the "priest" and it just gave me chills, because memories were starting to come in. I closed out the page and distracted myself away from the memories, but I kind of wish I hadn't.

One thing I've found with these regressions, I can rarely get beyond whatever "scene" I've been shown, and if I do try another regression, it's an entirely different life.

Ender, not sure what you mean exactly. You mean, did they tell the victims that they would be sacrificed? I'm sure they must have, and supposedly it was an honor to be chosen. some honor. I will have to go read more, when it doesn't freak me out so much, maybe a few more details will come to me.

Misty thanks for interesting story. I was also sacrifice - as a little boy probably during Maya civilization (AFAIK city Palenque)

To me religions are so frustrating. After searching for a while I realized I just don't fit into any of the molds .. and now my daughters and I are happily "Spiritual But Not Religious" and I have a feeling God is quite happy with that.

famgrin, I've just read about Mayan human sacrifice and it sounds truly gruesome. How much do you know about that life? I hope you didn't have to relive the sacrifice!

I read that the Inca's had 3 methods - strangulation, a blow to the head, or being buried alive. In my vision, I think I was about to receive a blow to the head. The priest was behind me, arms in the air, something in his hands. At first I was thinking maybe it was a knife, but I couldn't see what it was, so that was just speculation. Now I'm thinking, maybe some kind of blunt instrument. At least I left the vision before the actual blow.

Misty you got lucky that you left the vision before the blow. It sounds threateningly. I know what it's like to be injured or killed into the head. Happened to me it several times in the PL. Luckily I didn't survive this sacrifice.

I went with one man to the temple and there waiting for me another man. I lay down. The man with whom I went held me and the other guy pulled out of my body organ with some tool and then I died. (presumably ? )

famgrin, I'm sorry you had to relive that horrible experience. A blow to the head seems tame by comparison.
