When Faces Repeat

Remaining Spirit
I just saw a new photo of the reincarnation of my late partner. I knew to expect it, but it still blows me away. He had sent an announcing dream that he was coming back as this boy, and I knew why he was coming back to this particular couple - they are a part of our soul group. But to finally have a photo that I can compare to his former self, and so many points are similar, is still overwhelming. No, I can't share the photos, nor any more details, because the parents would never be comfortable with this - I watch from a distance. It's been enough to know he is happy and healthy and in a good place. But to see him reach an age where his former face is taking more form, blending in beautifully with his father's looks - is something. I just wanted to say it to someone.

That is very cool!

Somewhere I have a set of pictures of three people in my family who look quite a lot alike. My brother looks amazingly like my Uncle Encarnacion, who died in 1959. It's a held belief in our family that they are the same soul due to certain events*. Both of them look like my ancestor Augustin Chacon, who was a notorious outlaw in the Old West. I know it can probably be ascribed to genetics, but I find it interesting nonetheless.

*Long before he learned how Uncle "Chon" died, Luiz would be depressed on rainy Fridays. This was a profound depression that he sometimes described as a feeling that he was about to be taken away. He never liked being near power and phone poles, either, and the doomed feeling would increase tremendously if he found himself near one on a rainy Friday.

Uncle Chon worked for the city. They were putting in some new poles one Friday when it had started raining. They had to get one last pole put into the ground before they could knock off for the day, but this last pole would not seat right. They raised the pole and Uncle Chon hopped into the hole to clear whatever was causing the problem. The chain holding the pole then gave way and the pole came down on top of him like a hammer.

After my parents told us this story, Luiz seemed to be more at ease with rainy Fridays and power poles, although they still depressed him. (I know of no such connection to Augustin save for appearance.)

I used to get a similar feeling as a child whenever I heard trains - they would make me very sad. Eventually I had recall about the train trip that took me away from London for the last time - my last train trip ever. I was evacuated from the city during WW II.

This time around, I just wish a train would take me back... ;)

Oh, I would love to visit London!

Funny, if I was asked to list my PLs, I'd probably miss a bunch. But through conversation, I have memories pop up spontaneously and I think "How could I forget that?"

I was about 6 or 7 and a Punch & Judy was televised. I remember the opening scenes were a narrator talking about how long the show had been performed combined with images of a ruined medieval castle. I remember thinking "Wow! Has it been that long? Why didn't anyone keep it up?" They cut to images of kings and queens and one of a jester whom I recognized as a friend (just not a 20th century one). It made me sad to think that he was little more than bone dust while I was sitting there watching TV. When the Punch & Judy started, I surprised myself further by remarking to my mother that it was good that the children still enjoyed the show. I spoke as if I was outside of the realm of childhood. It was my first time ever seeing a Punch & Judy, yet I watched it with more than a twinge of nostalgia.

Yes, I love puppet shows, especially hand-puppets. Everything from Punch & Judy to the Muppets to Greg the Bunny. I also enjoy marionettes and used to have some which I could manipulate with a good degree of dexterity right out of the box! I loved entertaining young kids with them and even had one marionette hop onto my cat and ride him like a horse. (Thankfully, Cyrus was a patient kitty!) I enjoy telling stories, especially when I get to make them up on the fly, and as I type this I gradually realize that this very thing may explain my attraction to Dungeons & Dragons where, as Dungeonmaster, I get to create the story and adjust it as I go depending on what my players do!

General Patton is said to be the reincarnation of Hannibal. Look at a picture of Patton and a statue of Hannibal and you will swear you are looking at the same guy.

The only "image" I have of myself in a past life is from ancient Egypt. I have taken a photo of my current self and the image from Egypt and lined the profiles up. It was a match. :-)

I don't have any pictures to compare the face of this boy with anyone else in my family (living or dead).

Almost 20 years ago, I met the young Son of a fellow FD man whose Father and I had been on Rescue (but not together), and the current wife (not the Son's Mother), who had ridden with me on different shifts, so I knew both of the Parent's well.

I didn't deserve such undying adoration, especially from a child, but I could do no wrong in the eyes of this boy, and whenever I came over to visit the Parents, the boy would "hijack" me and both of the Parents thought it was so cute.

The last Astral Projection or OOBE episode that I wrote about elsewhere involved this boy and I, that's how close we were, he was almost like a Nephew to me, a thought that he loved to tell people.

And I got to thinking, what if this boy and I, had lived lives together in the past and knew each other, this would, I imagine, explain in part the familiar feeling between us and the closeness we both felt for each other.

As we both grew older, we drifted apart a little, but this little boy is now a grown man, and he still remembers me and even though he is still respectful towards me (especially when other people are around) he is still familiar with me when I see him!

The resemblance is not always there in faces, but it's a great thing when it is there as a clue, and backed by other stuff you remember or have been given in some way (like that announcing dream.) I never assume the resemblance is

everything, and I don't force it - there should be several things pointing the same way.

I don't go for proclaiming someone was such and such on just the face. Or someone else's decision. There should be clues coming from within.
