When my sister and I were small

Earlier yesterday my mother and I read an old diary she wrote when I was about 5 years old. She had written things down my sister and I had said.

Once we were watching a violin concert on TV and I suddenly said: "Mom, this man is playing on violin, and I do that too". The fun thing is that I've never played violin before.
Some years later my sister and I had this conversation:
My sister: "Mom, when we die our thoughts and dreams go to heaven"
Me: "Yes, but our bodies stay on Earth"

I think it's funny I agreed with that.

A year later I had a fish that died, and I was very sad. But I said to my father: "Dad, I hope my fish grows up in heaven, and I think grandma will feed it"
My grandma had just passed away at the time.

I wish my mother didn't just think it was fantasy and asked us more open ended questions, but unfortunately she doesn't really believe in reincarnation.

I found this really interesting and thought that I would share it here

But at least she wrote it down. THAT is the important thing. Otherwise, you would never know what PL things you said at age 5.

Thank you, argonne. At least now I know that I played on violin in my one of my past lives and that gives me a new clue on who I could have been.


I continued reading the diary, and found a new comment I had said and that was: "Mom, when I grow up I wanna smoke cigars". When I read that comment I began to laugh. I'm born with a heart defect and at the time my mother didn't allow anyone to smoke in our home because I have a dysfunctional immune along with it. And I don't think I could have been exposed to cigars by watching movies because it's very unlikely. My sister and I only watched movies for children at the time.

Sadly, so much has been lost over the years because parents dismissed what their children said as "fantasy" or "imaginary friends". Thankfully as the word gets out parents are taking notice.
