'You are Just Imagining Past Life Memories'

I tend to believe that spiritual awareness is expanding exponentially because of the internet.
I couldn't agree more. It's all taken for granted now, but when I stop and think about how much the internet has changed our world over the last 10-15 years - it's staggering! Anything and everthing is available to us at all times at the click of a mouse. Society is at a higher level of awareness than it has ever been before. And people are able to search for spirituality far beyond the walls of their local church. For me personally, it is highly unlikely that I would believe in reincarnation, nor would I have taken the subject seriously without the internet. Other than a couple of books in the bookstore (which I would not have searched for without internet exposure) there just isn't any material available to me anywhere beyond a computer screen. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Back to the subject of "How do we if it's a memory or a fantasy?" Again, for me personally, if I'm remember something from my current life, I know what the facts are (at least as I percieve them). If I were to change the memory in some way, there is an internal conflict that goes along with. I know when I'm lying to myself. If it is a fantasy, there are no boundaries. The fantasy can take on a life of its own because it is not based in reality. It is not anchored by facts. The past life memories that I've had have had the same feeling of a current life memory. There are boundaries. It does come with that internal conflict of knowing what's true and what isn't.

The feelings and emotions are key too. A strong past life memory, I know what I was thinking in that moment. I know how I felt, and why I felt that way. I've never had a "fantasy" like that. Nor have I had a fantasy that made me feel like crying.

If it was all just people making up stories in their mind, why are so many of the "stories" those of simple, ordinary lives? It would make sense to me that fantasies would be much more elaborate and adventurous.
