Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels.

I believe that each and every one of us has a Spirit Guide and Guardian Angel from our very first breath to our very last.

Some years ago I found out the name of my Guardian Angel (with thanks to a message board similar to this one) during a meditation session I learned that my Guardian Angel is called Harmony.

But I never knew the name of my Spirit Guide - until a couple of nights ago.
I decided to try meditation again to open my 3rd eye and crown chakra and was able to ask for the name of my Spirit Guide - and I was rewarded with the answer.
His name is Evan.

He presented to me as a Male, with a long grey beard and wrinkles on his forehead.

I’m really pleased that I was able to find out his name as now it means I can thank him directly for any help or guidance I receive from him and also from Harmony.

Hi Emily,

What’s the difference (for you)between a spirit guide and a guardian angel?

Hi Emily,

What’s the difference (for you)between a spirit guide and a guardian angel?

Do you know what, I’ve never actually thought about that.
I know that our Spirit Guides are those who guide us through our lives.
They’re also the ones we call upon when we’re learning about opening up our third eye and being more open to Spirit etc.

Guardian Angels, I believe they’re the ones that would step in to protect us from harm.
Now I know that brings up the question as to why people get hurt if they should be protected by their Guardian Angel?
I think that all depends on how sensitive a person is to Spirit.
I have read many stories of people who are in a car for example driving along and out of nowhere a voice yells stop!
They hit the breaks seconds before a tree falls in front of them, or a lorry runs a red light.
I think these are the Guardian Angels.
But again, if one is not open to Spirit then they may never hear the warning.

So my answer is Spirit Guide - Guides you through life, helps you in spiritual development.

Guardian Angel - protects you from harm when possible.

There is in my opinion.
There are Spirits and Spirit Guides.
There are also Angels, Guardian Angels and Archangels.

Plus I was definitely given 2 separate names for my Guardian Angel and Spirit Guide.

Emilie, I have posted such an occurrence here. Like Firefly stated, I considered the guide(s) to be the only things we had, why would we need an additional 'class' of spirits?

I’m certain that a Guardian Angel differs from a Spirit Guide and I have both.
I was given 2 names, very clearly.
I respect your opinion, I do.
But I know they are 2 different beings.

Hi!

I have met my angels when I was a very young child. I used to see them all the time, flying around me and we could converse telepathically. I have several angels, about 8 to 10 of them.

I remember they woke me up one night, and gave me the ability to fly. I flew with them downstairs to my living room, and we were all giggling and having a blast and this was all happening while I was in mid-air. They heard my father waking up, and my dog heard us as well as my father. My angels quickly brought me back up into my bedroom and put me to sleep.

Recently I had a dream that I personally met one of my angels and I discovered her name. Her name is Cassenova or Cassenovia. She was standing right next to me, and gave me a hug. I cried tears of joy. She gave me love, peace, and happiness. It was one of the most profound dreams I have ever had in my whole life.

Hailey, I had a similar experience myself but I was alone. I think it's what we would call an out of body experience. The soul doesn't fully join with the body until age 6 or 7 . So it's possible to leave and float around.

I did much the same thing! I floated down stairs and around the house. I heard my parents tv in their room and I flew back to bed, afraid of being caught.

At school I told the other kids I could fly and I was beyond angry I couldn't do it on command. I had no idea I left my body!

I know I have a spirit guide and I think too, they are one in the same.. However, I feel I'm often in my own. I don't know if that's because it's what I want, I'm stubbornly determined or what.

I've tried many times to call up there and I always seem to be told to stop bothering them! It's meant in good will.. I think they're frustrated at my lack of faith in my own intuition and abilities.

I know what an OBE is :) Since I was so little, I couldn't tell if it was an OBE or if I actually flew with them. You're probably right though!

I'm so glad you experienced the same thing! It's amazing, isn't it?

You're not alone. They are always with you. It may feel like you're alone because I have felt so in a long time until I was in my preteens and I went to a tarot reader and she pulled out a card with an angel on it and I cried of joy because I thought they left me but they never have, I just couldn't see them anymore.

Believe in yourself, believe in your own intuition and your abilities. If you feel like something is off or if something is right, believe that feeling. It's a good start if you haven't done so!

Hi, when I was little and went to kinder-garden I thought every human being could fly when we wanted to...I remember visiting my kinder-garden when it was dark outside and no one else was there and I just wanted to play but because no one was there I had to fly back home again and continue to sleep...later when growing up I always thought that was a dream. Remember asking my mum as a small kid "Can't humans fly?" and she said no and I was like "Are you sure?" then telling her "Well, maybe you forgot how to?"- it was just one of those things I really doubted...now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't dreams, but it could have been an OBE?

Another strange thing I was up to when I was a small kid was drawing two worlds. I don't come from a religious family, by the way. I was so sure there were two worlds. So I draw our planet and then I draw another planet telling my parents "it doesn't really look like this" and "we can go back and forth you know" and the other world was in the universe as well. One time one made a big X over my other world (not Earth planet) and I was like offended, ha ha...;)

One time when I was also little they had pulled me out to do a competition and it was going to be in deep water where I could not reach. Somehow I had not seen that one coming. I was terribly nervous. Lots of people - grown ups - there; the whole area filled and just a few kids lined up (and me being one of them thinking this is a really bad idea). What frighten me was that it was so deep. My mum remembered and I do to that meanwhile whilst standing there lined up and waiting this stranger for a man just showed up out of nowhere. He stood there for like 5-10 minutes just talking to me. He made lots of jokes and made me laugh. He was also very supportive. I had like almost fear of death in my eyes, or so it felt. For some reason he told me "It is not gonna go down like that this time, you know. You will be fine. You will just swim to that point and then back here. If anything will happen in between we will pull you up. Nothing else is going to happen. You are safe.". I mean - I did not even know this man. And he was no swim trainer, to his looks anyhow. I just assumed at first he was one of the parents or relatives watching this, and for some unexplained reason focusing only on me. When I later asked my mum about the man she said she had no idea who he was, that he just sort of popped up out of nowhere and just left out of nowhere too. As an adult doing a past life regression meditation I remember drowning in one life time (but don't know the identity of this person). Could that man have been a guardian angel or just someone who was nice to me? I guess I will never know. One thing that stayed with me though was the way he said that it wasn't going to "...go down like this THIS TIME". That was just a weird thing to say for a stranger? But then again I have no idea if guardian angels can become physically real? That other people can see them too? Interesting topic this one...

Best Wishes Li La

I have never felt an angelic presence. But for the longest time, I have been aware of a spiritual one.

For years, I've felt something of a masculine spirit at my shoulder. Not constantly, but I become aware when he's around. Sometimes, he'll show himself in some form, in visions. A while back, he was a lone Greek sentry on a hill. Sometimes, he'd be nothing more than a warm musk on the air, a hint of man's aftershave where there was no possible way for there to be any. Recently, he's presented himself as Harry, a 'friend' from a past-life I've unlocked the spiritual door to.

I come to recognise he's around nowadays when I, out of nowhere, catch Sting's 'Mad About You' in my head. It's a song that's long carried a meaning I wasn't wholly aware of, and now it's become associated with Harry. Or, I'll feel compelled to have a conversation with someone not physically present with me.
