Before the universe existed?

I was driven to explore a little of my own thoughts, as in another thread a user mentioned that there was no past life amnesia up until a certain point in human history.

Anyway, I took a deep dive to before when the universe even existed. I was using tarot cards for some insight and I asked where was I before the universe existed. The answer was alone, searching in the darkness. The gist of it was, I was alone, but near the source or perhaps the singularity that everything came from.

I tried to find out more, particularly why I was alone, but I kept getting the two of swords over and over, which is a pretty clear message that I'm not going to get more information following this line of questioning.

I'm just curious if anyone has any insights into before or just after the beginning of the universe; either personal, mythological or religious. A side quest of mine has always been to figure out what "role" I had or have, because apparently I do a lot of side work guiding lost and recently departed souls and I know I've been around a long time.

TIA.

Wow. That's... an interesting synchronicity.
Just finished watching this:
then came here to see if there's anything new before "I" go to bed. To find this thread. How very interesting and wonderful!

In that context the 2 of Swords makes perfect sense. The mind and duality. You can't understand this with your mind. It's non-dual. Your thought and identification with your self as something separate from others will prevent you from understanding. Like that.
As for the singularity, the video was about how the true self is what is eternal, a singularity, neither something nor nothing, stillness and the womb of all that is. You were alone because your ARE that singularity. We all are. But as a pure singularity we are alone, because there is no-body to interact with. Or this is how I would read it after watching that video.

Hi, everybody:

Not all souls existing nowadays, have existed here from 'the beginning of times'.

All this talk about 'old souls', 'new souls' is not just a talk.

A soul can be somehow created (out of nothing) and somehow disassembled (into nothing).

In one of Michael Newton's books, a patient of his - in a state of a deep hypnotic trance - recalls having 'worked' (when in LBL) in a kind of a crêche/kindergarten for newborn souls. According to her, the soul creation is quite a whole well organized uninterrupted continuous process there in LBL.

As I have listened to all (or almost all) Michael Newton's audiobooks at a gulp, I have such information stored in my brain kind of disorganized.
Pity, I cannot find time to re-listen those audiobooks and put all that information into a more systematic and organized form.

IMHO.

Best Regards.

How can you tell how old your soul is?

How does that work?

Do you have specific details about what she recalled there?

I've shown some landmarks.

The rest is up to you. Take it or leave it.

Hope, they haven't banned on Google.

IMHO.

Best Regards.

@SeekerOfKnowledge synchronicity indeed! That actually helped shed a lot of light on what I was seeing in the tarot cards.

But! I was actually talking about the reverse of what the video is explaining. It's basically saying that we get so caught up in our day to day living, we forget our higher selves and connection to the source, from which we all come.

It's basically encouraging zen or transcendental meditation, to let go of the ego and self that is rooted in this world and again, reconnect.

As I said though, I was recalling the opposite. Before the universe, before time, before individual souls, there was only the source, or the singularity. The sameness between everything in the video was really interesting..

Anyway, the card I drew that represented the singularity was the wands card below. It doesn't look harmonious (I didn't feel that way about it) but it was in the middle of the empress and emperor cards. Everything in balance, between male and female (this was in the video too).

To me, it was an undulating, chaotic place that was more similar to the boiling and churning of the sun. So I decided to leave and go searching in the darkness, drawing the hermit card. This was mentioned in the video too, where the narrator said that st John said you must not be afraid to walk through the darkness.

Anyway, I'm alone in the void and I discover death, literally represented by the death card. Maybe it's metaphorical, an ending. I've left the singularity and I've discovered my individually as represented by the emperor card on another draw. I asked if there were others like me out here and I drew the sun. I'm literally looking at the singularity, the only other thing in the void.

The other thing in the video that caught my attention were the frequent references to the number 8. I asked several times what I was or how old I was and I got various number 8 cards. Of course, 8 is an infinity symbol turned 90 degrees. I also found an explanation that 8 is a sacred number, describing an entity one step removed from nature and not subject to it's laws and limitations. Of course that describes all of us (our souls) and 8 is one step above 7, referencing the process of creation, levels of heaven etc.

@Cyrus is right. We all have free will. Nobody makes us leave the source or singularity. Souls that left earlier are older and ones that left more recently are younger, as measured in time in this plane but also in maturity. But that's somewhat relative. Maybe some young souls have a higher degree of wisdom, as individuals and maybe older souls are stuck in ruts and don't grow. It's all a case by case basis.

I don't know if a nursery exists or if I bypassed it or something, but I'm sure souls have created a sort of community and culture in which some helper souls help new souls. The first ones had to rough it I think.

I don't think a soul is something and then nothing. I think it simply leaves or rejoins the singularity. Once it leaves, we call it an individual soul. Otherwise it's simply an unidentifiable constituent part of a whole.

@Tinnos I believe in a cyclical universe, so I also believe the universe reincarnates too. I have a deep interest in quantum physics and and astro everything. What we experience as expressed by our memories and other spiritual experiences are supported in many ways by physics.

One thing to me that's interesting is the holographic universe theory. It states the universe is a 3d projection from 2d information. Think about the singularity. It suddenly expanded in a process called inflation. But also think about a hologram. What is the one thing it needs? A light source.

It's an interesting theory because many religions and mythologies all have origin stories tied to the light of God, fires, sparks, explosions and other things creating the universe.

I often wonder if those are latent memories turning themselves into myths.

In the yogic philosophy, the Shivalinga as Saguna Brahman or God is considered the first form to arise when creation occurs, and also the last form before the dissolution of creation.

Paramahamsa Yogananda states in this regard, "The word 'God' means the manifested, transcendental Being beyond creation, but existing in relation to creation. Spirit existed before God. God is the Creator of the universe, but Spirit is the Creator of God."

As per Hindu philosophy, Spirit in turn is stated to be Nirguna Brahman, or Impersonal Brahman without attributes as opposed to God with personal attributes or Saguna Brahman.

Prajnanam Brahma (Aitareya Upanishad 3.1.3) -- "Brahman is pure consciousness."

Nirguna Brahman or pure consciousness is considered the fundamental substratum of the multiverse, and all matter, energy, space, time and causation are its diverse manifestations.

So the sequence is that of Spirit/Nirguna Brahman or all pervasive pure consciousness or emptiness giving birth to the personal God/Saguna Brahman known as Shivalingam, who in turn creates the multiverse out of Herself and after a span of time, dissolves the creation and retrieves it back into Herself, and dissolves back into Spirit or Nirguna Brahman.

At the start of the next universal cycle this process is repeated from start to finish and goes ad infinitum as in a mobius strip.

So the answer to the OP's question is that pure consciousness or emptiness is the background of the endless creation's and dissolution's of the universal cycles, as per Hindu yogic philosophy.

The Rig Veda 10.129 has a theme in this regard too...

'Darkness there was: at first concealed in darkness this All was indiscriminated chaos. All that existed then was void and formless: by the great power of Warmth was born that One.'

Be interesting if the universe itself actually reincarnated.
In physics there are several theories about how our universe will end. One theory states that while the universe is now expanding (with galaxies moving away from each other), it will come to a point when it will start contracting again. Finally everything will collide into one single point, a singularity, similar like before the Big Bang occurred. This is called the Big Crunch. After that it is possible that the singularity will explode again in another Big Bang creating a new universe. This cycle of a universe expanding and contracting again could repeat endlessly – the Big Bounce theory.

IMO that’s a fascinating scenario and it fits so well with everything in nature being a cycle and the cycles of reincarnation as well.

Unfortunately this theory is not supported by current scientific evidence. As for today scientists think a Big Freeze is most likely as the end of the universe – which is pretty disheartening to imagine 😢

But who know’s? We don’t know yet what it is really like.

This is about the "Big Freeze" theory. Beautiful pictures, though.
If you skip to about 24 minutes they mention the possibility that in a universe with intelligent life, said intelligent life could develop a high enough level of technology to be able to create a new "baby universe" to escape to.
(What if this already happened? What if this universe has been created by intelligent creatures from a universe that has been created by intelligent creatures... and so on...? Would we be able to find out?)

You asked about a mythological and religious perspective.

I'm hoping to learn more about the peacock angel.

The Yezidis do not believe that the Peacock Angel is the Supreme God. The Supreme God created him as an emanation at the beginning of time. He was brought into manifestation in order to give the invisible, transcendental Supreme God a vehicle with which to create and administer the universe. Tawsi Melek is thus a tangible, denser form of the infinite Supreme God. In order to assist Tawsi Melek in this important role, the Supreme Creator also created six other Great Angels, who were, like the Peacock Angel, emanations of the Supreme God and not separate from him. When recounting the creation of all Seven Great Angels, the Yezidis often summarize the emanation process as follows:

Tawsi Melek was the first to emerge from the Light of God in the form of a seven color rainbow, which is a form he still today continues to manifest to them (usually as a rainbow around the Sun). But the Yezidis also claim that Tawsi Melek and the six Great Angels are collectively the seven colors of the rainbow. Therefore, the six Great Angels were originally part of Tawsi Melek, the primal rainbow emanation, but they separated from each other to become the Seven Great Angels. Of the seven colors produced from the primal rainbow, Tawsi Melek became associated with the color blue, because this is the first color. It is the color of the heavens, from which is the colors emanate.

Tawsi Melek was, therefore, both the first form of the Supreme God and one of the Seven Great Angels, which is a cosmic heptad mentioned within many religious traditions. The Jews, Christians, Persian, Egyptians all have their seven angels and creators. In the Meshefê Re, the Yezidis “Black Book,” there is one passage that describes the Seven Great Angels and associates their creation with the seven days of Creation. The text first states that the Supreme God first created a pearl containing the substance or substratum of the soon-to-be physical universe, ostensibly referring to the molten mass of the “Big Bang” championed by modern physics. The Yezidi text then maintains that for forty thousand years this pearl sat upon a primal bird, which is quite possibly an incipient form of Tawsi Melek before he divided into the Seven Great Angels. This pearl then exploded (or became dismantled) to become the physical universe.

With the Earth in a more placid phase of its evolution the Great Angels proceeded to their next creation, Adam. The first human was created by all the Seven Great Angels, each of whom endowed him with a physical sense to experience life. One gave him an ear, one a nose, one a mouth, etc. But the first human was a lifeless heap of flesh without a soul, so Tawsi Melek transmitted the breath of life into him. When Adam then rose to his feet, Tawsi Melek quickly swung him around so that he was facing the Sun while informing him that there was something much greater than he and that praying daily to the Sun as a form of the Supreme God would help him to remember this truth. Tawsi Melek then verbalized the prayers that Adam and his descendants around the globe were to repeat during their worship, and he spoke to them in 72 languages since Adam and Eve were destined to have 72 sons and 72 daughters who would populate the 72 regions or countries of the Earth. The Peacock Angel then informed Adam that if he and his descendants remained steadfast in righteousness they would eventually see and know the Supreme God personally. In the meantime, Tawsi Melek would be their protector and teacher even while residing in another dimension.

To the question, would we be able to find out?
ET's from advanced civilizations have been called angels... And contact has begun! Don't wait for your government to tell you. We know they've tried suppressing contact for years... And so, how to communicate? This has to do with understanding your greater self and the mysteries of consciousness not bound to a 3D experience.

im just posting this link to illustrate my frustrations with physics. Theoretical physics is great, but I think many theories are simply hyperbolic, vain and or convenient.

Since string theory fizzled out, the next rock star vanity topic to tackle has been the end of the universe. As long as I've been reading physics news, ever other week for the past few years is a different theory that explains how it's going to freeze, collapse or why it won't.

Dark matter is science's "God did it" or my favorite "a wizard did it" explanation 😆

I think the fact that these theories are largely untestable is why there's so many. I think it's a symptom of publish or perish culture.

It's my personal belief that we - the people who inhabit the Earth - are also part of the ones who created this place. We walk around in our own creation until we are fed up. Some people like the idea that we live in some kind of illusion and that none of this is real. I don't agree. We made this place and we are fully responsible for our creation. All dimensions, and all people are directly connected.
