Accents and Reincarnation

I just found this site. I have long been interested in reincarnation. I was finally prompted today to track down some information after an interaction with a customer. I live in Ohio but I am always asked where I am from...I am in retail, and asked near daily and have been since I was a teen (I am now 52). I have lived all of my life in Ohio and have traveled very, very little. Today an elderly woman asked the question...and I replied that I was from here (the small town I was born, raised and still live in) but I was aware my accent is different. She smiled and said "perhaps you should look into reincarnation." I am told I sound like I am from New York, New Jersey, or somewhere on the east coast. Thoughts or others experiences with accents and prior lives? Appreciate any insight.

"OtherS experiences" - looks like what our Greek customers wrote to us in English in their e-mails, transplanting Greek grammar rules into English.
Haven't you lived in Greece in your PL?

But seriously, gentlemen: the PL native language does NOT survive the reincarnation. Some attraction to that language in your new life may remain, but neither accent nor language itself will be inherited in your new life.

I was an Italian in my PL, and a Greek in the life before that, but in this life I have learned Italian and Greek as foreign languages, and I speak them with a Spanish accent. And I have NO accent in Spanish itself, neither Italian nor Greek.

IMHO.

Best Regards.

I agree with Cyrus on this topic. Up until this point all of us (as soul) have experienced many cultures, religions, belief systems and have spoken many different languages some of which are dead languages by now. In fact, if we were to go back about 600 years from today most of us would not recognize the English Language we speak today. As I understand it all of these past life personalities and memories are stored within the casual or soul body itself which is above the mental plane. Because in each new incarnation we receive a new physical, astral and mental body each time around. These inner subtle bodies along with the physical have no memory of these past lives.

However, I will say that certain aspects of foreign accents can trigger familiar dim memories to surface which allows us to be drawn to certain time periods or parts of the world. When I had a regression session years ago the PL therapist recorded the session. I have always been drawn to Scotland, Ireland and the UK most of my life. I live in the America now. During the session I was speaking broken Scottish Gaelic as I was going back and forth between English we know of today and Gaelic of the past. Once the session was over, she played back the recording and let me tell you it kind of freak me out a little as I did not understand what I was saying at all. Since in this life I don't speak Gaelic. Soul can access these memories because it resonates beyond liner time as we understand it as it is above the mind or mental plane.

I find it fascinating how very complex we all are as a spiritual being. There is nothing wrong with knowing where you have been as soul, however
it is more important to stay focused of this lifetime and where you are going forwarded on your journey home.

Peace and love always.

I agree.
Even more, what you feel, and focus on in the present shapes both your probable future, and your past's recollection.

Scientific evidence FAS (foreign accent syndrome) is real ...

Accidents will happen in the best regulated families.
But what all this has to do with reincarnation?

It's very easy to fake an accent. Why not try to fake a whole new language, instead? Without accent.

Persian lessons

IMHO.

Regs.

If you jump to about 12:30 in the video I provided, you can *see* (MRI scan) that she's objectively *not* faking an abnormality in the brain. I think FAS is at least tangentially related to the idea of reincarnation ... why would someone from Australia suddenly lose her native accent in lieu of another easily identifiable one, from a country she's never been to?

Maybe this could also explain people who seem to have a slight speech impairment as well. Just a thought. It didn't help that when I was 5 I moved from my home state of Michigan to Indiana where they have a very different accent.

Starting to think speech impairment has more to do with genetics as my mom and older sister as well as a couple of my nephews also have slight speech impairment.

Oh wow, I absolutely have a tendency to periodically adopt and drop random accents at random points (my ex joked that I spoke like someone with multiple personalities). In this life, I have a SoCal accent, but I very frequently talk like I'm from the exact opposite coast. I once had an accurate dream of the Brooklyn skyline (I had to do some googling to check. Initially I didn't even know it was Brooklyn), and another time I had to stop scrolling because I saw a photo of a house (not my style at all) from New York (in an area I had never been to) that gave me dream-deja vu. Just to name a few points of connection to the state. I feel incredibly comfortable anytime I'm anywhere on the east coast. My dad is from NY and always laughs at how much more I sound like a New Yorker at times than he ever does. His accent is incredibly neutral. Anyway, I believe your theory that accents can potentially relate to past lives.
