Any memories of specific books from PLs?

Hello,

Any memories of specific books from PLs esp. books that were limited in publication quantities?

How did further research on these books help knowledge on PLs?

One helpful research site for books may be AbeBooks; as the geographical locations of booksellers stocking books remembered are indicated.

Such information may help pinpoint the geographical locations of PLs.

I once dreamt about a German medical book from the 30's or before, i think it might have been a Pathology book. The author was Karl Höss. I could never find such book or author (I found a Karl Höss who wrote books but he wasn't a doctor)

I also dreamt about some really big books, with a black cover, also from the 30's, also German. They were about art. I actually found some books that matched that description, they were a catalog of some art stuff around Munich. The memory itself wasn't important to me at all so i didn't pay further attention to it.

Old-books, old magazine covers; possible PL memories.

The worldcat.org also searches the databases of library collections. The geographic locations of libraries having specific publcations in their collections may also provide clues; as to regions where PLs may have lived.

My possible PL memories of a book cover contained a partial title; with an uncommon book cover color. This is a lead I'm currently following-up on; as there was a specific book published with the partial title and cover color I remembered.

Memories of vintage magazine covers are also worth investigating.

Personally, my only magazine cover memory only provides a "June 1938" date; with specific typeface fonts, and font colors, as well as background colors. My search for June 1938 publications with these image features has not yielded anything "solid" so far.

Has anybody experienced that "WHOA feeling" when looking at actual publications matching publications remembered from a PL?

Book illustrations / Specific illustrators

Hello,

Illustrations in decades-old books may yield "deja-vu like" memories of interest.

The work of 'Elizabeth Tyler Wolcott' is worth investigating; as Wolcott's styles existed around the mid-twentieth century.

The works of other book illustrators may also "ring a bell" so to speak!

Im pretty sure I've reread some classics.. Dickens etc.

I don't have a memory if it, but I took piano lessons a long time ago, which us something I did in my previous life.

I was working on the song molly Malone and the teacher was frustrated with the swing I played it with rather than the even tick tock meter she wanted me too.

She insisted I must have heard a grandmother play it that way or something. Come to find out the song is a raucous bar song, and its sung / played similarly to how I did.

I'm quite sure I've played it before!
