Anyone With Memories of Ancient Central Asia?

throsso

New Member
I ask this question as I have been having some for a long time , this life, and hesitate to discuss them even here. Perhaps others have some they might care to share and help me to relieve my 'stage fright'?
Mine are of so long ago that I wonder if they aren't ...,well, I am not sure of anything about them but their troubling nature. Any comments or shared knowledge would be appreciated.

I have some fleeting images of ancient India, but if it's the mid-east you're talking about, I haven't had anything from that region yet come up in my mind. A friend of mine who served in Afghanistan said that the first time he saw the country he felt like he had come home from so long away, but that it used to look so much better, like returning to your beloved childhood home only to see it run-down and taken over by squatters.

Folks here are wonderfully non-judgemental. We acknowledge that your past life is exactly that, your past life. If you'd rather, maybe start with parts that you are comfortable with. For example, what region do you feel you were in? Can you describe the people or buildings?

Mine are Mongolia / china. I apologize for being brief as im on my phone, but you can read mine here at the link below in my signature.

My Thanks

My thanks to you, Shiftkitty and Totoro, I may well do as you advise. It will require more time than I have , just now. Again I thank you for the kindness and promptness of your responses.

I didn't mean to blatantly direct you off site,

but my journal is more or less mirrored on this site, in this thread:

And a belated welcome to the forum! :laugh:

I had just the opposite problem.. I suddenly felt very overwhelmed with the bulk of information I walked right into and I just sort of dumped it all in the thread, but since then I've learned so much and this place is really wonderful / helpful.

So please, feel free to jump right in when you're ready :thumbsup:

Throsso, now would love to read of your memories from this past life back in Asia. Please feel free to share. As for myself, do think there was a life or two or so back in Mongolia and area but that was a long time ago. And the more recent lives for myself have been here in North America it seems. Wishing You the Best!

Good Totoro, you did not direct me off-site. I had already read your journal. And enjoyed very much. It is one of the experiences which emboldened me to post the thread I have.

The ...well, one of the reasons I hesitate to post more fully on this topic is that my experiences defy(?) refute (?) - at the least contradict the 'received wisdom' in regard to that area and its , putative, history.

I am somewhat chary to boldly state those things I have seen and done - in that time and place, just yet. For these reasons I asked if any other has had remembrances of that place and its 'time before recorded history'.

Before I go further I will await more replies. Pardon me my reticence and extend me the grace of your patience - if you will.

Ah, Kmatjhwy, if it were as late as the Mongols I would not hesitate to post. The history of their time and place is , at least, accepted today and admissible among most. For my difficulties I have a time and place and history so far before them as to be only 'fringe' admissible , at best. Permit me to give a brief glimpse: A time when the Indian sub-continent had not yet collided with the Asian . The weather and the topography were much different as were the ethnic populations. From this you may, perhaps, discern my ...reticence?

You're free discuss your experiences as long as they are kept in good faith and objective :laugh: And thanks for your compliments on my blog. I learned a while ago that there are many people that read here but don't post for one reason or another. I've kept up with it in hopes someone will get something out of it!

Since you seem a bit hesitant (nothing wrong with that! :D ) let me refer you to the forum rules and if you give it a quick read, hopefully it'll clear up any questions you may have. You're of course also welcome to ask any questions about content and posting that you like and I or someone else will answer it the best they can.

Thank you, so very much. I will, however, await some more input from the site posters before I venture forth ...too far.

Welcome to the past life forum Throsso! :)

Don't worry, everyone here is very open minded and welcoming. However, we don't want you to feel rushed into sharing if you don't want to either - so share whenever you feel ready. :thumbsup:

Greetings throsso,

I understood your reluctance after looking up continental drift and reading that India collided with with Eurasia 50-55 million years ago., which is a little bit before humankind's accepted beginnings.

But maybe it doesn't have to be so seemingly impossible like that. A member of a primitive society in an age before worldwide exploration and satellite photography couldn't reasonably be expected to have accurate knowledge of the world's coastlines. They might know only what they see before them.

And changes in sea level can change the shape of coastlines much faster than continental drift does. If you look at the wikipedia page for "continental shelf", they show a worldwide map. All the areas in cyan (light blue) are continental shelf and were sections of land during the iceages, which are now underwater. That also appears to effect the coastline between India and Eurasia.

Before 10 thousand years ago, you could walk all the way from China to Australia to New Zealand. Which makes some of my apparent past-life memories of being among a somewhat primitive non-seafaring people in a place east of the great barrier reef, almost possible.

hello Banazir,

Your comments picqued my interest, enough to go back and re-read what the posting guidelines said about memories of ancient civilizations.

appearing that we can't speak of-

* Flying crafts/UFO's

* Magic spells and potions

* Other worlds and/or planets

* Beings of supreme power/strength/intelligence etc.

* Anything that could be considered science fiction fantasy

I was just curious as to which of those criteria makes your memories clearly violate the forum rules?

I too appear to have memories of some prehistoric times, but they don't break any of those prohibitions, they're just mostly unverifiable.

Hi Banazir :)

If you are interested, I can try to say a little more about my apparent pre-historic memories. They may not be against the rules, but due to how unverifiable they are, perhaps other members might think I have an amazing imagination.

Those memories have no date or time by modern reckoning, and from what little those flashes of memory show me, the only local timekeeping was by the sun and moon and how many years any currently living person had seen, and maybe a count of generations up to grandparents or so.

But I can figure it was a long time ago, because they show me a place that science says was swallowed up by the ocean 10 thousand years ago when the ice ages ended.

That place of the past life, as far as memories ever showed, was in the south pacific on a long stretch of land east of australia, which was connected to the mainland so that you really could walk to east asia.

I never said anything, I thought it was impossible because there is no such land there now. But then I learned about how the sea leavels rose when the ice ages ended, and saw the map of the continental shelf which showed how there would have been land there, a long time ago. So maybe there's a chance those flashes of memory might be from a real past life.

The people of those memories were technologically primitive. There was no use of metals. Other than occassional rickity-looking rafts tied down near shore, there was no boating or sea-faring.

They were more or less hunter-gatherers, except they didn't need to move-on very often because there was enough food to support the low population density.

As for clothing, the people only wore as much as the climate required, which was some but not much. Despite being where the tropics are now, it wasn't that hot, but not cold either, which might be another point in favor of the ice ages. The clothing itself was mostly de-furred animal skins, not really leather as we know it. Some small items of corsely woven cloth were present, but not so common.

They weren't so much for construction work, no great monoliths. Naturally occuring rock formations were finished off and taken advantage of, though.

Despite the lack of technology, they weren't barbarians. They knew how to speak (no grunts and "ugg"'s) and had a verbal language which I keep hearing in my dreams. For a few, there was even the beginnings of writing, symbols scratched into small clay tiles which could be rearranged to say things. They also had a social code, it wasn't just a chaos of people hitting each other over the head with clubs. Indeed, they needed as many people as possible alive and well-behaved, there was enough danger from the local wildlife to not go killing each other. Oddly, in those memory flashes all the animals seem larger than life, and many of the plants looked strange and exotic.

They also has infrequent contact with the Asian mainland, and an inter-regional economy of trading women with distant tribes to keep injecting fresh genes into each other's family trees. None of the tribal leaders wanted the results of too much inbreeding. And that had much to do with my own particular place in that past life.

I can sort of remember growing up to a teenager and then being considered healthy enough and pleasing enough to be traded off to another tribe of people far to the north, whom I would bear children for, in a place (now underwater) somewhere between china and the southern tip of Japan. I, and at least two others, were being "voluntarily" escorted on our journey. But there were no horses, or beasts of burden, it was walking all the way. And I don't think I made it there alive, the last thing I remember was dark stone cliffs and it being very cold before we even got there.

Hi Banazir,

I'd like to help out with more details, but there haven't been really a lot of memories remembered. It's more like a few scenes from a life, shown out of order, and not containing any more detail than normal life experiences.

Maybe it only seems like I'm getting tons of detail because with my present powers of observation I'm being really observant for what details there are provided. And in those dreams that speak to me in an unknown language, the dialog sometimes explains things.

What other details would be interesting? I remember they were kind of lacking on what we'd call religion. But there was storytelling around the cooking fire, and hunters bragging of brave exploits. And no one ate alone. Or slept alone, because people who did sleep alone often ended up missing or dead. And they buried their dead, because cannibalism was forbidden (it's a really bad social precedent) and no one wanted the local scavengers developing a taste for humans as food.

I surmise it might have been freezing to death, but I can't be sure. Maybe that isn't so bad in a lifestyle where it was uncommon to live long enough to be old. We all have to exit the stage sometime, for some reason. Maybe the important part is the memories of those you loved in your heart, even if they are endless ages in the past.
