Are memories psychosomatic?

Klee

If Memories are nothing more than bias phantasms, wouldn't this create a placebo effect on reality? If time has expired the "memory" it is no longer valid, but left to be plagiarized.

How much effect people have on memories fascinates me.
If reality is nothing more than projected opinions, that makes history nothing more than a recycling of others perceptions, based off of their own emotional acceptance.

In turn leaving it wide open for psychosomatic interpretation.
Reviewing past memories is virtually impossible, a memory nothing more than a fabricated imprint. Current emotions, situations and over all memory of the situation contaminate the validity of past interpretations.

Past life "memories" are recollections, triggered by sensations of once known. So is there a true defining way of gaining reflection without influence? Thoughts?

While we know that some memories may be false and others true, the word "psychosomatic" refers to how subliminal emotions affect physiological conditions, which is entirely a different matter. So, I think we are mixing metaphors here. Yes, it is true that people and outside influences can affect our own memories; but it does not mean that all memories are false or wrongly interpreted. Somewhere amidst our memories are many elements of truth, which can be mined and refined just as one mines and refines gold from the hardscrabble ore of earth's massive crust. The accuracy of our impressions, like the purification of gold, require much hard work and discipline through not only the reading of books and learning from those more experienced than ourselves, but also from hard-won personal experience and keen observation.

Truth, like everything is a perception, others influence is a choice. Both of which have a cause and effect on the general consensus, making it impossible to recollect an unbiased memory.

When reliving a memory, you're essentially making a present observation. Current moods and surroundings, could cause the memory to be skewed, making the meditation quite arbitrary.

Although, my voyeuristic and personal theories are nothing short of an opinion. I strive to see beyond indoctrinations of others doctrines, accepting them as second hand wisdoms. Although entertaining and interesting, I can't define myself with someone else's repetitive logic. Just as I hope that people see my observations as an individual source of ignorance.

Although I come across as brash and "uneducated" to the social norm, my intentions are fueled through curiosity.

I believe in reincarnation, not because of the classification or definition, but because of own peronsonal influence. It's not justifiable or definable. It just is.

Thank you again for your opinions, I really appreciate you taking time to respond. Have a nice day. :)

Memories of past physical injuries and illnesses probably cause pain that might be turned psychosomatic, whether the memory is from this life, or past ones. It doesn't make the pain any less "real". The subconscious seems to be able to detect physiological weakness, and exploit it as a distraction from other issues. By the way, I support everything that Nightrain said. Welcome to the forum, Klee. Is your name connected to the artist, Paul Klee?
