Are you an old soul!?

I didn't take the quiz yet, but I've been looking at the "Michael" teachings web-site. I am only a "mature" soul. I'm glad - not ready to stop playing on the earth-plane yet!

LOL!

I may have purposely answered some questions to sound young, but I really do thing of myself as a mature soul, but definitely not as an old soul as some people think I am! lol

Now I personally took the test 3 times and the average of the three tests was a 96. The descriptions to an 'Old Soul' here at this site fits me exactly! In this Life, I am just such a loner. And it seems that I was this way in some recent past lives also.

But like BriarRose, I like playing on this earth-plane for Life is just so absolutely exceptionally wonderfull! To just be here and simply 'Enjoy Life'!

87 I have always known felt old

knowledge wise.

I feel the opposite about being here

it feels like a merry go round.

The loner is true though, a only child

I think is born with that in them.

Hmm I got 81. I wasn't drawn to the questions that conflicted military/earth interests with spiritual ones - for example, I wouldn't admire Merlin more than Alexander the Great. Lol.

I got 81, but I know I'm a mature soul, not an old soul. I still create far to much drama to be an old soul. I just took the mature soul test and got a 98, so yeah, mature for sure.

88, however the quiz was too easy and the flawed product of someone with conventional human expectations of what an "old soul" should be. This smacks of judgmental dogmatism and intellectual conditioning. If a quiz could be composed by a wise soul who resides in a higher dimension, that would be truly interesting. Besides, we are all old souls. Some of us merely exist in this world with handicaps which were chosen intentionally by ourselves in order, perhaps, to expand our spiritual wisdom. Wisdom, by the way, which can only be judged from the spiritual perspective of someone from the other side. Measuring our wisdom while on this physical plane can only be an ego massaging exercise. If someone else were to answer these questions on our behalf, we might be sadly disappointed by the results.

It's true what you say, Nightrain. But in terms of 'dumbing it down', (whether we're old, mature, young, etc) I think the test did a good job. The basics of what separates souls that have lived more (by more, I don't necessarily mean more lives, but also the challenges they've faced and, and sometimes conquered, in those lives.) Do people who are 'older' tend to be more reflective, less impressed by material wealth, curious in terms of spiritual growth and all that? Yes, they do. The genuine ones, not the 'fad' ones. I think it touches on the basics. Maybe the creator feels the same way as you, it's just she had to express it on a level that many humans would understand.

That would fit, argonne. Think of the lessons that a homeless person learns ... and how quickly they are learned. Not to mention the lessons they teach all of us about empathy and compassion ...

I admire the fantasy that was Merlin.

Real magic existed it's in the Bible.

Alexander, was a power, hungry, bully.

I admire leadership (in war) more than wise men, regardless of how history has interpreted them. I respect strength and power.

I couldn’t take it seriously. Of course I think I’m wise and compassionate, I mean, just ask me. Or Stalin. I’m sure he thought he was, too. I got the impression that an old soul is supposed to be home alone, reading books on philosophy, with his peace disturbed only when someone drops by to ask for advice. That’s sort of like me (except for the people coming by ask for my advice - that never happens), but I think that’s because my social skills, especially when I was younger, were abysmal and I was very shy, I don’t see where that that makes me a wise old soul.

And I took issue with some of the questions, for example, friends being older. Why should they be? The question seems to be implying that if I am an old soul I’d only want to hang with other old souls, but wouldn’t I want the perspective and freshness from souls of all sorts? Surely it’s not like being a member in a snobby Old Boys Club. And being an old soul has nothing to do with one’s earthly chronological age. Trust me, I’ve known older people who were complete idiots, and young ones who were angels. My friends’ ages tend to be all over the place. And the question about wanting to be a mentor as opposed to an entertainer and whatever it was - I’m not sure that an old soul would really feel the need to be bossy, wouldn’t they understand that the younger ones need to find their own paths? And I feel that being able to entertain others would be a perfectly lovely occupation, old soul or not, I certainly wish I had the talent to do so. It’s in the pursuit of music, art, literature, that humans reach for meaning beyond themselves. And are we talking about choral composers or pole dancers? But I wouldn’t assume that a pole dancer couldn’t be an old soul. Anyway, then another question asked about seeing beauty in art or nature, which seems to contradict the suggestion that art and entertainment are unworthy pursuits.

I’d read somewhere that old souls ( I dislike the phrase in any case since I think all souls are the same age) are often either found in the lower reaches of society, or in places where they can freely mingle with all sorts of people, freedom and gregariousness being important to them, which made sense to me. I’d think they may be anyone anywhere, and they don’t fit into narrow stereotypes.

Personally even though I rate high on this test, how much do I agree with Nightrain above. In a way how much do a disagree with all of these online tests and have gotten tired of them. Now each of us are such individuals with our specific gifts and talents. Now each of us are following our own soul path so who else on this earth-plane is able to really judge, when we all only know in part and see in part. But sooooo many of these online tests after a few questions put everyone into certain specific catagories. Who is this person who made the test able to judge what is an 'Old' Soul and what is Not and 'Old' Soul. Possibly we all here are old souls in one way or another. Guess this test really applied to myself since I do spend how much time by myself in the deep wilds.

Onething I heard about an 'Old' Soul once was this .... One thing about an Old Soul is that they are a slow learner.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

The Last Word on Sunday...

Holy...sh** Moly...!!! I got 95!! That's scary! yikes Even when I did it more times...but I think this is just for fun! I really don't like the words "old" or "new"...how about "am"!!!

79% here. Hmm...sorta feel I ought to be a "calmer" sort of person than I actually am though.

Much more "detached" than I used to be when younger.

Grinned a bit at being described as "tired". Yep...correct.LOL

Not only am I an old soul I have also discovered in the past few days thanks to online tests that I am also Big Bird, Fleetwood Mac and Iron Man :)

I took two of those on-line tests that tell you what you will be in your next life. One said that I was so evolved I would become a god, LOL, and one said I would be a hippopotamus. I think the hippo is more likely. If I keep eating, I might achieve that in this life! ;)

Heh! I took the test and laughed at receiving 95. I'm not sure it's accurate since the questions seemed loaded, especially the one about the age of friends.

Mine cover the spectrum from young to old and always have. It isn't about the physical age, but about the ability to connect and have a meaningful conversation, isn't it?

I have to say the in-depth descriptions on the Michael website were very helpful. I have met so many people who confuse me no end with the odd things they consider to be important. Some of the points made about various soul ages helped me realize that they are just processing different elements of life than I am right now.

It helps to think the reason I don't find these things as important might be because I already looked into it and learned what I need to know. It is useful for them to learn by experience, and in this we are the same. I think I'll be less put off by their processing now.

Oooh, Iron Man, I'd love that. But maybe there's hope for me yet, I'll be happy if I can just be Amy Pond.

Big Bird? I'm terrified I might be Cookie Monster.

Although she never came out and directly said it, I had a teacher a half a century ago who would chide me and say to me "You should remember that, you have been here before" and I suspected what she was really saying, but she never would say the word "Past Life".

Back then, she was ancient and I'm sure she's in Spirit now, but the part about being a "Slow Learner" might apply to me (it doesn't) making me still a "Slow Learner" [bIG GRIN], but human's are far too complex to be pinned down by a test on the Internet and perhaps one should not take them too seriously, or at least I don't!!! :) ;)

If she had dared to say "Past Life" 50 years ago she would not have lasted very long.

I found the evaluations on the Michael web-site to be helpful, also - particularly the reminder that no particular soul age is "superior" to any other.

47.

After reading comments I found some of the questions quite leadin so answered against them a little.

I think mature soul explians me well. :D

I liked the other personality tests on here & am quite happy to confirm I am a "free spirit". :D

I don't think I've quite had the amount of freedom I would like this time but have a friend who says she's always seen me as free spirited come and go person. We have come into contact in at least two other pl's. I think she might know my personality better than me.
