Child with Autism remembers details of past life

I'm new here, so please excuse my "newness" to all of this.

My son is 12 yrs old and has autism. I must preface to say that over the past year he has been telling us that he is "seeing spirits", even talking with them sometimes. I don't encourage or discourage this in him. I just listen to what he says.

The other night he came in, shaking all over. He said that he had a dream or a vision (he wasn't sure because he felt he was at that place where you are dozing off but not fully asleep) where he was some type of a guard in a dungeon. He was holding a big ax. He said he saw the faces of the people he was guarding and it was very much full of fear, saddness and sorrow. He said that he felt this very strongly as well. He felt that he was going to kill them and that he was the cause of the sadness. But he also felt that he was being "forced" to do this and it wasn't what he wanted to do. He also came up with a name...Jacque Moreau.

After he told me this, I remembered a very vivid dream I had several years ago. It's the kind of dream that when you wake up, you feel the fear and emotions that you had as if you were really there. My dream was that I travelled back in time and entered into the body of a little boy. The little boy was of some sort of middle eastern ethnicity. I looked next to me and saw my fathers face. (not my Dad now, but in the dream I knew it was my Dad then). He had fear in his eyes. I then heard the gunshots coming and my job was to tell and have this little boy cover his eyes and roll up in a ball. I heard the gunshots getting closer until my Dad, then I felt myself get shot. I then woke up drenched in sweat at home. When I woke up I had a clear thought that this was a past life.

I had never thought about past lives before so it wasn't like I was trying to read into this. I pretty much kept this to myself so that my family wouldn't laugh at me.

Then my son had his dream. We talked to a friend who is very in tune with this type of thing. Here was her take on it.

My son may have been an executioner in a past life. I may have been one of his victims. He now has autism and I am in a roll of authority in his life, trying to help him get better. Could this be true? Is this a trick the universe is playing on us? What can I do to undo the pattern that may have been set up so long ago?

Thanks for reading.

Hi TD2003 and a warm welcome to the forum :)

Thank you for sharing your very intriguing experience with your boy.

Hi T,

One thing that stood out to me - was your son said " He was holding a big ax." You said in your dream - you were shot. I am curious what you think about this difference.

Please remember to take what your friend said - with a grain of salt. It is more important to document your sons statements and dreams as well as your own. If I was you - I would do Past Life work around your own memories and keep a journal of what your son says.

These things take time, and often what we think - is not the case.

I thought about the ax / gun difference. But really the person who kind of put some of this together is a Naturopathic Doctor. She uses energetic testing to uncover what is happening physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually in the body. I didn't want to go too far off on a tangent is why I didn't mention that.

She also mentioned that people can have many past lives and follow the same type of patterns.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Deborah has given you some good suggestions and advice. Your son's "name" seems French. What are his feelings towards France, that time period of dungeons/axes, etc? I'd love to hear more about your son and both his and your memories. :)

Hi TD2003,

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your story. Has your son been having many other dreams that could be past life related, or is this something that has started recently?

It is possible that the two of you were connected in the past, in which case, you might find this thread helpful regarding your question about undoing a pattern setup long ago: Disolving a karmic bond, but like Deborah said, these things can't always be resolved overnight.

Good luck and enjoy the forum.

Chris :)

If those are past lives your remembering they sound like they would be of different locations or time periods. You may have shared other lives or even one of those with your son though.

I don't think Autism is a punishment though but then again I don't really believe in karma either.

I have 2 sons, one is aspergers and the other autistic. I wondered also if past life experiences contributed to the austism. The memory that I keep thinking of was of a friend that was killed in a really bad way by some soldiers. He didn't make barely a sound when they did. I wonder sometimes if that is where the oversensitivity and the screaming come from in this life. A kind of soul memory (and hopefully not a conscious one,he doesn't really talk yet)) of that experience.

I just don't believe kids are punished in this life for things that happened in another. It would be like punishing someone for something they didn't know they did. But I do believe that past life experiences contribute, sometimes in a big way, to how this life is experienced, but just not as a punishment. The closest I can compare my thoughts to is imagine if that life didn't end but your situation changed and you lived another 20, 30, or more years. How would you have acted and reacted in that life from the memory in question? Would you have gone on to assist people who experience the same problem? Then that's what your likely drawn to do in this life. Would you have suffered PTSD or suffered anger, rage, or hopelessness from it and needed help working through things? Then that may be were some peoples issues and maybe physical, mental, emotional and/or social disorders come from in their current life.

That's a brilliant way to describe it Wednesday, I'd never really thought of it like that before

Thanks for sharing your story TD2003. I think it's perfectly possible that your's and your son's dreams could be past life related, but whether or not you were linked in a past life is obviously difficult to say. Have you tried researching the name your son came up with? I know it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack  , but if you could find anything that corresponded with this name and the details given in the dream, that would be a powerful validation.

Welcome to the forum, T. :)

No matter how skilful the person you have been talking to is, they cannot know for sure about your past life experiences. Both you and your son's experiences sound like past life memories to me, but I wouldn't necessarily think they are of the same situation.

But like the dr, I couldn't know on your behalf, either. ;) Both experiences are very interesting.

I think it would be a good idea to do past life work, like meditations and/or regressions - maybe together with your son. It's possible, even likely, you share a bond over different lifetimes. :)

You might enjoy this thread.

Keep us posted.

My personal opinion is that Love conquers all things. I really believe that forgiveness and love will give us all a fresh start in the next life - if we really believe in and practice those things in this life. If you never suspected a past life relationship with your son, you would go through this life loving him and supporting him the best you can and you would be doing the right thing, the same applies now that you have this knowledge of a possible past life with him. I believe the undesirable patterns of our past lives crumble and fade away in the presence of Love. I think about this every day and have done so for many years.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your story. If the two of you shared those past lives together, it may be that the two of you came back to work things out.
