Could my son be my brother-in-law?

I can't tell you how excited I was to find this site. My 4 yr old son has been "freaking me out" lately. Here's why....
In 1990 my husbands brother was tragically killed in an auto accident at the age of 20. My son was born in 1996 and we gave him his uncle's middle name. In 1999 my father-in-law passed away, and before he died, he gave my son a deer head that he had shot and mounted many years ago. Ever since my son was 2 years old, he has told stories that have always started with "When I was big..." or "Back when I was a big boy...." The most recent story is about how he was with his grandpa when grandpa shot the buck..which my son refers to as *his* buck. When my husband questioned my son about what grandpa shot the buck with...my son described the gun that grandpa indeed used to shoot that buck with...a gun that was sold years before my husband and I were even married.

I am a solid believer in the after-life...and have had many experiences throughout my life. But to be honest, it spooks me a little to think that my son could be my brother-in-law.

My husband and I both encourage our sons memories.

Also, when our daughter was 3 years old (she is now 5) she had a "friend" that only she could see. She only played with this friend when she was outside in the front yard, and she would say that she and this "boy" rolled around in the grass and he kissed her on the cheek. After doing some research, I discovered that about 3 years before we built our house on this lot, there was an accident right in front of where our house stands now, and a young male (18 years old, I believe) was killed.

It makes me feel so much better to read the stories posted here....sometimes my husband thinks I'm crazy, but I do have a best friend who also has things happen to her, and we are very 'connected' to each other.

I could go on for days...but I will go for now and wait for replies. I'm so interested in anything the rest of you have to say.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome, Taryn.

I sort of understand how the concept of the possibility of your brother-in-law returning as your son "spooks" you (actually I don't think spooks is the correct word, but then, I don't think there's an accurate word for describing how you would feel having a former family member "return" to your family).

It sounds like you're doing well, however, encouraging his memories. If he speaks, just let him speak. If he *was* your brother-in-law, he is your brother-in-law no more. He is your son. (Case in point: my mother was my wife in her last lifetime, and she remembers a little, I remember a lot. It's no big deal. She is my mommy.
If he was not your brother-in-law, well, whomever he was, he chose to have you as his parents, and it sounds like you love him. What a gift!--to be chosen like that.

Just adding my "welcome" Taryn...
(Nice name, by the way.)
I wouldn't change a word of DJ's beautiful reply.
I'm hoping that you'll continue to post incidents with your son ...(go ahead, "go on for days")... I'm looking forward to it.
I'm also interested in anything your son refers to that is absolutely documentable from his former life as your brother-in-law. Like recognizing a high school teacher from a yearbook or some such?
Also are you taping any of his rememberances on video or otherwise? That would just be a neat thing for him to have in case he "forgets" as he gets older.

Dear Taryn,

Another possibility you may want to consider is that your son is communicating with his uncle. He may be getting his information that way. Given what you have said it is more likely that he is the reincarnation of his uncle, but it is possible he could get that info through communicating with his uncle's soul.

I am very glad to hear that you are listening to him and encouraging his memories.

There is another nice website for and about children who are having special psychic and spiritual experiences.
You may want to visit: www.psykids.net.
It's run by a mother and daughter who are very aware and very compassionate.

Blessings,

bob

Thank you all for your replies. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but my husband, 11 year old daughter and my son were in a rather serious car accident on the 29th of November and I have been busy nursing them all back to health.

My son hasn't said a whole lot the last couple of weeks, however, the accident scared him pretty bad. He doesn't want to get into a vehicle, and he doesn't want his dad to drive anymore.

I will keep you all posted on any new developments. Thanks again for replying.

I believe you are right, my niece is I'm pretty sure my dead grandmother. I suppose we come back very often in the same families. Not always but we tend to, in order to go on with the same souls. Do not worry, things will be allright. Bye for now !
