Could my son really recognize me?

Two nights ago my five year old son was very sleepy and asked to snuggle with me after leaving his bed. We settled in, all was quiet, he was relaxed and his eyes just closed when he said with the tone of appreciative suprise and said "I never knew that you'd be my mommy in this body." I asked him to say it again, and again he said "I never knew you'd be my mommy here."

My son has been very attached to me since he was an infant. He's also very intelligent and wise beyond his years; he's a truly gifted child. My mother and I've said many times that he appears to be an old soul.

Could he really recognize me from another time? This is a new topic of research for me. Thank you.

I think it's certainly most possible! My son has a very similar story!


I'm not an expert of the children's side of things, but the two pieces of advice I've picked up from here are to make note of anything they say as well as just letting it happen naturally.


Someone will no doubt chime in with further tips for you, however there are many resources and threads here for you browse through if you wish!

Hello Edith, Thank you so much for sharing your encounter. How precious! I'm with you, it certainly sounds like his spontaneous words, in that relaxed and cuddling moment, were the truths of innocence. The purity in their young minds has no pretense or external psycho-motivations... it is from their heart. At that age they still are with the sacred pool of memories. Their ability to understand and verbalize the swirling truths is difficult at their age but many break through and manage to touch us... I believe yours did just that.


I think that these revelations, no matter how small, how seemingly insignificant and innocent are a well timed chapter in both of your souls.... and, indeed, all of us here who are blessed to read and seriously contemplate it with you. How can you best act, savor and deal with this? Well, for me simple acceptance was the key. I accepted my own revelations not as epic or life changing, but simply as the beauty of life. AND the beauty of life in a MUCH deeper and wonderful perspective. WONDER. Wonder about it! It will enrich you to no end.


Practically speaking, I recommend you first read Carol's books! They have incredible wisdom for dealing with children. Second I would remain calm and unshaken in front of him, and hold him, cuddle him and love him in soulful joy! And thirdly begin a journal about him for you... and later for him. You'll be surprised at what you read thirty years from now!

Thank you for sharing. Yes, I do think your son could recognize you, children remember their past lives and their connections much more easily at that young age. Make sure you keep a journal or something where you write down all the different things he says like this, sometimes a pattern can arise. Keep listening with a open mind, hopefully he will remember/share more with you! Do keep us updated! :thumbsup:
 
Children, by virtue of their young age, are very close to the "veil", having just crossed through it from the Other Side, so any information of a Past Life (PL) nature is readily accessed by the child.


And yes, he may certainly recognize you from another PL as being his Mother, or another relative or even as just a good friend.

I hope you share more of your experiences. It's cool when little kids are so matter a fact about life, especially things we adults struggle with.

I do believe that your son recognizes you, because my friend’s daughter who is just three years old once sat on her lap and said to her mommy: Mom, I chose you because the other mom was very rude to me. Then, my friend began to understand and study the stuffs related to reincarnation.
