Do you WANT to reincarnate after this life?

Definitely "no" all pain and misery of this world, very hard to live with. May be have an option to came back occasionally to help people i love and humanity (with is impossible task for time being )

I don´t have much interest to come back after this life. I just want to burn off as much karma as possible, fullfill my life task and stay away from trouble.

However, I think that I´m not done yet, so I may have to reincarnate after this life.

I will be back; because consciousness creates...and to me the three intelligences - thoughts, feelings and emotions - will bring me back unless I have attained the highest level of consciousness/awareness. And even then - I think I will be back because LOVE is a very powerful force. I still think of the Jedi Knight -Skywalker - when he doubted something would work or would give up and Yoda said -"That is why you fail." Somehow that thought process - at least for me - works here too.
So those of you that are saying - "NO, I am not coming back"...what about those you love in this life - who need you? Do you really have all of your karma worked out? Are you sure - that your higher power - self - source - agrees with you? Do you have no "Soul" agreements with others?

I cannot help but also reference Ian Stevenson cases - where hate - anger - and love - were the driving forces behind a child being drawn to their next life. And trauma or abuse, sudden death - or an accident being one of the main reasons - the child remembered the previous life. SO much can happen in the physical realm....and it is here - IMO - that we create so much.

Buntaro - where does LOVE fit into your theories?
What happens if you end up in a next life where you are uneducated and/or belief in reincarnation is forbidden? You would know no other way, it would kind of be a degression down possibly, you could really do evil things if you have a low level of awareness......If this scenerio happened, how would your level of consciousness be effected? it would kind of be a degression dont you think bringing you down a level? Puts a twist on things and theories, no?

What happens if you end up in a next life where you are uneducated and/or belief in reincarnation is forbidden?
In my present life -- reincarnation was never discussed, and when I brought it up it was frowned upon. However, the knowledge I carried inside of me -- the thoughts, memories and feelings of other lifetimes -- allowed me to remain steadfast in my beliefs and walk upon the path I have chosen for myself regardless of being born into a family of non-believers. : angel

Puts a twist on things and theories, no?
No. Law of attraction -- like energies attract. What you are thinking and feeling you yourself create. If you are always focused on the negative, then certainly that is what will manifest in both present and future lives. However -- if your focus is positive and you are creating with clarity and clear intent -- with compassion, love and understanding -- these are the things you will create for yourself.

IMO -- once you have learned that you yourself have the ability to create positively -- You do NOT go backwards, only forwards.

Exactly. To expand on this, even if you were negative...you still could not go backwards.

Positive or negative, Consciousness is always evolving. Eventually, I think people get to a certain point in their lifetimes where they get sick of negative emotions. And they naturally gravitate toward the positive. And gravitate toward higher densities.

No, I don't think I would come back again. I live an average life, but I think my time here should end after this life. I'd like to maybe become a "Spirit Guide" or that "Voice" that tries to steer you away from trouble.

I really like who I am. I have a lot of faults, and I've had and am still having a lot of problems in this life (all brought on by myself), but I think I'd like to come back in another life. I'd like to hang onto some of the things I've learned in this life, though - I've discovered some pretty wonderful things here that I'd want to have with me in the next life (music, books, etc...)

But, I suppose you'd think that with every life and once the new begins, wonderful new discoveries await.

I just don't think I'm accomplishing what I need to here. But, I'm only 32 so I have a lot of life left (hopefully!)

re: living again

My life this go around was awful for many years. I was terribly abused, but eventually I grew up. At nineteen I met my husband. When I met him for the first time I caught his eye and I knew he was who I had been looking for. He tells me all the time that we've been married a lot longer than the eight years we've been married in this life, but he does not believe in reincarnation. I KNOW that I KNOW him better than I could have if we had only been together for the eleven years we've shared in this life. I feel him there in my dreams. And I know that everythng I endured as a child was worth it to find him again. So, yes, if I have the choice to come back I will, just to find him again and perhaps this message board will still be here and I'll find this post in the archives and wonder about the person who wrote it!

I don't want to reincarnate.

It seems as if there's much compelling evidence supporting reincarnation. At odds with my personal support for the theory include the belief in heaven and hell.

However, I must consider the possibility. When I read about reincarnation, the more I think about it, the more that it really doesn't sound so appealing. I like my life now. I have a good family and a life that most would kill for. I feel that if I died early, and were reincarnated into a different family, I would miss my current family dearly and would have no hope in ever contacting them again. Or perhaps, I fear I would be reincarnated into a third-world country or some other less than favorable living arrangements.

At least with the belief in heaven, you can have hope that you'll see your family in some way or another.

I would like to reject the belief entirely, but my scientific mind forces me to consider the possibility that reincarnation exists. After all, there's more evidence for it than any other type of afterlife. However, there's also anectdotal evidence at odds with reincarnation. How are personal accounts of ghosts explained when nobody really becomes a 'ghost' outside the body? It is indeed a confusing scenario to be in.

If reincarnation does exist, this has been my best life yet, regardless if I was ever a king or queen or something else. There must be a way to carry a lot of your former memories along with you. One can only wonder if Dr. Ian Stevenson prepared for the possibility himself and if there is a child somewhere claiming he is the real Dr. Ian Stevenson to his parents.

I would like to make an envelope containing five questions and answers to personal questions only I would know. My next of kin can get this out to the news media after my time has come. I claim to be who my name is today and tell my future parents to contact past life researchers who in turn would check with the media to get in contact with my next of kin. The envelope would not be opened until it reached the researchers, who in turn would ask me the questions and verify the answers. If I get those 5...that's me!

Of course, doing this would require a firm commitment to remember your current life...barring some supernatural being or mechanism that erases memories in-between lives.

You are welcome to take my idea. Make an envelope, seal it, and put it away for 80 years or so, however long you live. Don't open it while you are still alive.

I digress, however. The real point of my post is, does anyone else feel this way? That you would hopelessly miss your family forever? That life wouldn't be as good next time around? Reincarnation seems pretty hard to deny, especially to those of you who like evidence for things.

Hi nm0991,

Welcome to the forum. :)

The real point of my post is, does anyone else feel this way? That you would hopelessly miss your family forever? That life wouldn't be as good next time around? Reincarnation seems pretty hard to deny, especially to those of you who like evidence for things.
I’ve had memories since childhood – of other families, places…and parents. Of course there are times when you miss specific people – but it’s more like looking back on a fond memory from your present life – if that makes sense.

I think the gift of reincarnation – is knowing that people do return to you. Across time and cultures – in different bodies – in different roles. When we love someone – and they love us, that love doesn’t ever diminish.

Or perhaps, I fear I would be reincarnated into a third-world country or some other less than favorable living arrangements.
How do you know that you wouldn’t be happy though? How do you know – you wouldn’t have a good family in a third world country – or be loved? One may have less advantages and/or opportunities in a third world country – but material things aren’t really important – it’s love that matters the most – and it’s love that brings us together again and again with certain souls.

There are plenty of unfavorable situations in countries that are considered wealthy. There is child abuse and poverty – everywhere. Money doesn’t guarantee a happy life. ;) Some of the happiest – most joyful and loving people I have ever met – was on a trip to Jamaica. These people lived in the hills in “houses” that consisted of a few boards. To our way of thinking – they had nothing. But with a slight alteration of perception – one could see that these people had more than most. They had each other – and an ever-present joy in life itself.

At least with the belief in heaven, you can have hope that you'll see your family in some way or another.
You have that with reincarnation as well ;)

You might be interested in reading Jesse's Story – an amazing story of same family reincarnation. I think it illustrates beautifully why reincarnation is such a gift.

I know personally – for me – I’ve met people in my present life that have been with me in a past life. The love between you doesn’t change. They are just as precious to you now as they were then. :)

Hi nm0991,

However, there's also anectdotal evidence at odds with reincarnation. How are personal accounts of ghosts explained when nobody really becomes a 'ghost' outside the body? It is indeed a confusing scenario to be in.
Not so. After someone dies, they spend some time in the spiritual realms, and have a "spiritual body". The sightings of spiritual entities while disincarnate is what is referred to as "ghosts".

I digress, however. The real point of my post is, does anyone else feel this way? That you would hopelessly miss your family forever? That life wouldn't be as good next time around? Reincarnation seems pretty hard to deny, especially to those of you who like evidence for things.
Yes, I am quite sure that those who disincarnate must miss their loved ones terribly, just as one would miss a loved one who has gone to live in another country. When we reincarnate, however, our "memories" of our past lives are hampered by what I like to call the "blessed veil of forgetfulness". With this, we have the opportunity to live a new life, without all the sadness, sorrows, regrets or even longings of our previous existences...

And yes, I agree with Ailish in that one of the greatest beauties of the knowledge of reincarnation is precisely that we do meet our loved ones again. A far more comforting concept than a notion that some of our loved ones might be sent to an "eternal hell" while we, perhaps, go to an "eternal heaven", without any chance of ever meeting again. Another great beauty of the reality of reincarnation is that there is no such thing as an "eternal hell". We ALL have the opportunity to learn and progress, and correct our errors and previous mistakes. A far more beautiful concept and evidence of the notion of a perfectly just "God" than to believe that a "God" of love and justice would condemn part of His creation, his "children", to a life of eternal suffering...

Welcome to the forum, nm0991. :)

Ailish and Charles gave you good answers already. I love my current life, too, and have a wonderful family. I'm sure this will be a life I feel nostalgic of in my future lives, but like others have already said, I'm sure I'll meet my loved ones yet again, and maybe I'll even have a chance to live in Finland once more. :)

I hope you enjoy reading through threads on this forum, and will be convinced reincarnation is a beautiful thing. I'm happy you have a good life and people to love in this life. :)

I think that I want to reincarnate indefinately for at least the next 30000 years. I am fascinated with the future of the earth and I know I will never get to experience the far future in this life. But each life you forget everything and get indoctrinated into the culture of your birth and can experience new and wonderful things, or things that are well known to us, like love and happiness all over again.

Plus the fact that with each new incarnation you don't remember the past lives, therefore you won't get tired of endlessly reincarnating.

I don't know if I have an opinion yet. I feel like I have more incarnations left, for sure. I would love to continue coming back to experience things. But I'd also really like to spend alot of time on "the other side" and just learn and learn, read and read some more. I have so many unanswered questions that I want to know about. LOL...I'm such a dork sometimes. : angel

Hi all!

Oh, I am definitely sure that I want to come back many more times! I don't think this life will suffice for me to accomplish everything I would like to. And yes, I do believe that one way or another we hold the same wishes in our souls throughout eternity - it is the quality, the elements that define our souls that dictate those wishes.

I would love to come back as an opera singer some time :D

Of course, I also hope to meet Gwydion under more favourable circumstances next time.... :o

Life is amazing - of course I want to come back!!!

Love and Light!

:D If my hard work in this life (or a few lives after if need to) could qualify me the "graduated certificate" in earth school.

I would love to look at the beautiful blue planet at last time. There is billions stars in the night sky, Maybe there is one I will spend my futher life...

If I answer the question 3 year before, I would say: " Yes, I love life I would like to come back" for the love I feel to some "special ones". and old places

what happened in the 3 year, I learned an important lesson called "detachment"

Love is non-attached and love is non-distinguished

Therefore I choose " Letting go" and go on to the future...

I want to come back again. It would be nice though if I could remember this life and my last one(s ?) in order to avoid certain problems again. There are some things I don't want happening again or at least if they do I'd have some memories about how to deal with it.

At first I didn't want to come back, but now I think I do. I would come back as a highly regarded Military figure.

I asked one of my fav. people this, and to my dissapointment, they said they didn't want to come back, and if they have the choice, they will not be back. I have often felt the same way. I also have a feeling another one of my fav. people might say the same. I have no desire to come back life after life if some of my fav. people in the world won't be here. I also mentioned coming back as a man because I think the universe hates women and so does society. But one of the my lovers in this life- one of the few I've actually loved- told me we should just come back as ourselves. I think he wants to be male again. I'd like to be with him again if we come back. So, I guess I need to come back as a female, unless he comes back bisexual or homosexual, or unless he doesn't get to choose his gender and comes back as a heterosexual woman. Also, the other man I'd like to see again will prob. come back as a woman if he can. But I have a feeling he'll either be bisexual or a lesbian. So me being a bisexual female might set me up for both of them if they can choose their own gender and sexual orientation. That's what I need to come back as.

But if I get to paradise with my loved ones, and we can stay, I might just stay. But I like to imagine the paradise beyond death, which I hope exists, is somewhat physical, like the Earth.....only it's a perfect existance. But I like to imagine we can still make love and eat good food.....feel the water on our skin, and everything will feel like new......love....and every kiss.....and everytime we look at the world, it will be with a child's eyes in the sense that it will feel amazing just like it did when we first layed eyes on it, and won't be taken for granted.

But right now, I don't know if I believe in anything. :(

I am afraid of coming back. Afraid of the usual stuff life brings. But also afraid of having a terrible life full of violence and neglect. But there are things in life that I love. I guess I just hope we can have those things after life, as well, only without all the bad stuff.

I expect to come back anyway because I know that I am far from perfect. I've got a lot of things to work on. Either way, I absolutely want to come back. I get very easily bored. I'm not the type to want to sit on the sidelines for very long. I want to be in the game. I have a much more optimistic view of the future than some of the previous posts in this thread. It's easy sometimes to dwell in the negative and ignore to positive. There are so many things I want to do, and so many things that I think would be interesting to experience. I know that I've got a lot of living left to do in this life, but there's only so much that can be done in one life. So far this life hasn't quite gone the way I would have liked it to, but I've learned so many valuable things. I just hope that all is not forgotten in the next life, or at least I will be able to relearn it. Also, I probably have loved ones that I haven't been with in this life that I will reunite with in the future. #G^H

Bring on the next life! :cool

Just my thoughts:

I believe your true existence is not like this physical existence at all. It is unimaginably superior to this physical life in ways that cannot be adequately described in our language. Your true self, your spiritual self, possesses different qualities than this physical self and does not experience the same physical sensations; you won't miss those sensations. I don't know why we come to this physical world to live but I believe it is to fulfill a purpose that contributes to a plan that is so amazing and important that it is beyond our understanding while we are here; we can only know that there is indeed a purpose for our physical existence.

When we return to the "other side" we will shed the cares and tribulations which have beaten us down and those things will be left behind. We will most likely be more than eager and willing to once again jump into the physical world and make our contribution to the plan once more. The chance to come to the Earth to live a physical existence must be valuable beyond our knowing. I think it is important that we understand that our actions in this physical life will affect the future for ourselves as returning souls and that raising children to love and respect all life is key to the advancement of the Plan.

I am sure that that my spirit, your spirit and anyone else's spirit is just as beautiful, loving and LOVED as any other spirit.

Hello all,

In the "Grand Plan" of our universal evolution, it seems that reincarnation is in fact seen as a blessing, and that often those "on the other side" crave for the chance to return because they know it is their opportunity to further evolve and progress.

I also very much liked Truthseeker's approach, because each lifetime is, in truth, an opportunity to live a "new life" afresh, with all its joys and sorrows and without the remembrance of the pains, regrets and sadnesses of our previous existences; albeit inevitably under the influence of both the positive and negative karmic aspects brought about by our actions, thoughts and deeds in our previous incarnations.

In Spiritism, this is seen as a purification process, as the means by which balance is achieved and the Divine Justice is manifested. In my view, it beats by far a belief system based on one life, one death, and eternal absolution or condemnation based on the opportunities of only one life.

In the perfection of things, the progress is gradual but steady; and we ALL evolve and perfect ourselves through the trials and expiations of our various existences, not only here on Earth but most likely in other worlds as well...

Now haven't been around for a little while, been out doing things. But guess am more in line also with what Truthseeker said.

And to answer the question, Do I want to reincarnate after this life? Yes - Absolutely!!! Now in my wilderness wanderings, have seen just how wonderful and precious Life is! Just how wonderful it is to be able to just enjoy the many blessings being alive can bring. Many people focus on the many things we are to learn, the inner growth of ourselves, how our real home is on the other side, or other such things. But also do think that how many of us will actually will want to come back to simply enjoy another life again. Yes there is the many hardsips in life. But there are many of the simple and precious things in life that make it so richly rewarding. Now as for myself, just one life is so extremely brief with just so many things to see, to do, to experience. So as for myself I have to say 'Absolutely' when it comes to the answer of coming back and living another life again. Life is really just soooo Great!

Yes but with more knowledge of how to live a better life. I think life is good and I love life, but in the end I would also want to do what's good and right. So If I have to stay in heaven for awhile that's fine.

My ego would say NO.. but on a soul level I know I will have to again, but this time I am taking a MUCH longer rest before I return. I returned way too quickly in this life, especially after living a living hell in Auschwitz in my last life.
