Does anyone recall being Buddhist?

I've read accounts of people with past lives as Christians (a nun, plus others), Jews (Brian Weiss' experience), and Hindus (Stevenson's accounts of reincarnated children being born to different castes in India, kind of disrupting the "upward mobility in castes if those 'untouchables' just behave themselves and accept their lot in tis life" idea, since reincarnation can work both ways).

One of the points of Buddhism is finding oneness with everything while on Earth in order to escape the reincarnation cycle. So: does it work? Does anyone recall a past life as a Buddhist?

I may have been, as Tibetan Buddhism was the religion of the people I came from in my previous life. However, I strongly believe in Taoist concepts and it's quite possible my immediate family did as well, or at least I was allowed the freedom to peruse a different belief.


I don't personally put much stock in the belief of trying to raise one's caste or getting off of the cycle. I think that's more of a projection of human pain and suffering onto cosmic ideals whereas I think the answer is a more simple one of gaining awareness and the conciseness of how our decisions affect us and our overall path to maturity.

I don't have specific memories of a Buddhist life, however I do strongly feel that I have lived at least one life in China, maybe more. I like Chinese culture, and I feel very comfortable in that setting and Chinese people. I also feel as thought it is very possible I lived once as a Buddhist monk. Again, I have no specific memories, only things that resonate with me.
