Drawn to Steam Trains

Rails

New Member
Hello all,

After browsing this forum, I have registered as I really need to talk to people who will not judge.

I am in my mid fifties now and from as young as I can remember I have had a what I can only describe as a terror/fascination with steam trains.

As a very small child I do remember them actually still running. I remember being with Mum and pressing myself as hard as I could against the railway building until the train had come to a stop. I was never scared to ride on the train, quite the contrary, I just had an overpowering fear that I was going to go under the train as it came in to the station.

As an adult, I have always lived not too far from a main railway line that the vintage steam trains take tourist runs every few months. When I hear the whistle blowing, I look on the internet to see when it is coming back through, I actually drive down to a vantage point just to watch them come through. I stand at a safe distance but still get that feeling that I am under the train.

Several years ago I travelled to England and visited an incredible train museum. There was a train that was parked over a pit so you could go underneath and view the workings of the undercarriage. It took some courage to go under but once under there I knew I had been 'under' a train before.

I am not a train spotter, I have no interest in studying makes or histories of steam trains. It is just an overwhelming power that draws me to them.

I have always experienced what has been labelled night terrors, a lot involve a steam train bearing down on me.

Is it possible that I have been hit by a steam train in a previous life?

I have only given a few examples here, I hope it is enough to generate some advice/opinions.

Thank you.

Hi Rails! Welcome to the Forum!

You were right to come here and share your impressions. We do what we can to make everyone feel safe. Regarding your impressions, it seems as though something very important from the era of steam trains has affected your present life; and I agree that it probably has something more to do with you than having worked with trains. My imagination has conjured up a situation involving the departure of a loved one. Accidents involving people running along side those trains were not rare occurrences.

Trains were the only connection many people had with the outside world, and they often carried loved ones away -- sometimes forever.

There may be a lot of emotional content going on with your situation, and you might be able to uncover more with the help of regression therapy or meditation. I hope you'll keep us continually informed of any progress. Reading other posts may also be helpful in uncovering more impressions.

The guy's got a thing about being run over by a train, and the first answer he gets is from a nightrain.

No offence nightrain, but mate, that's gotta be funny.

Hi rails. welcome to the forum.

Don't worry I already saw the funny side,

not only does the girl have a problem with trains but she is a

retired cop.

The first thing I saw was Night train (or is it night rain) then the message at the bottom about the cops badge.

Very fitting I think.

Coincidence?

Or, synchronicity?

:D

I am not a huge believer in coincidence.

I like to think there is a reason and a design

behind everything.

This is why it has become important to me to find out the reason for my steam train bent.

It has taken a long time but I have taken the first step and look forward to comments.

Spooky, isn't it? (this is where the lights dim and the horror music comes in)!

There may be more to Coincidence or Synchronicity than we think?

Or perhaps it could be previously acquainted individuals hooking up again in this life.

It seems to me that individuals with like interests sometimes tend to gravitate towards one another from lifetime to lifetime.

Food for thought, but too much thinking gives me a headache (or is it lack of coffee)? :coffee:

I noticed you're both from Australia too. e!e

Welcome to the forum Rails. It sounds like it is possible you had a career in the past involving stream trains which lead to an unfortunate end. I used to get terrifying images in my mind of getting hit by a semi truck. Though I wouldn't have considered myself obsessed with them, parents would tell you that when I was real little I was always quick to point one out whenever I saw one. About a year and a half ago I found out that my last life ended when I was hit by a semi truck.

Welcome to the Forum Rails! Thanks for posting and looking

forward to what else you have to share with us. Also what an

interesting thread may I say.

Wishing You the Best!

Hello Rails!

I really found yours a very interesting story. You seem to be a perfect candidate for past life regression. Don't you? I am not from Australia but a simple search on Google came with http://www.spiritualhypnotherapy.com.au/ within half an hour from Mebourne.

Do tell your story if at all you do get a past life regression done on you some day.

I have dreamt many a times, exactly the same secene, that I get separated from my mom on a large railway station, while I am on the tracks criss-crossing in all directions!

Didn't want to make it any spookier here!

AKP.

Thanks AKP, this is exactly what I was looking for but didn't know it!

This place is 15 minutes drive from where I live.

I am going to make an appointment for as early in the new year as I can.

Rails,

You are welcome! Wish you a happy new year!

I will certainly be very curious to know what you found out! All the best!!

AKP.
