Hi everyone,
This is my first real contributory post, having also said hello in the introductions forum.
I'm yet to have a formal past life regression session, although it is very much on the cards when I've got a bit more money. I have, however, had some experiences through meditation which have proved very interesting, and which I'd like to share with people.
I appreciate this may venture into the realms of 'famous past lives', and I'm well aware of the stigma surrounding claims of them. However, the way I look at it (albeit with the same degree of caution and scrutiny as others researching the topic) is someone has to have lived those famous lives throughout history, so although it's statistically less likely it's certainly not as impossible to find famous cases as many would believe. It's just a case of separating the fantasists from the genuine accounts.
To give a little background, I've been sitting in spiritual development circles since September last year, although have made far more rapid progress since a group of us formed our own early this year. I'd had a couple of what I believe to be past-life visions during meditation before, but nothing with any verifiable detail until more recently.
I went off into meditation this particular day and had a vision of being outside, and then in, a castle. I started asking various questions in my head and got some answers back. I was told the year was 1487 and that this was Warwick Castle I was seeing. I asked who I was in this life and the answer that came back was 'the king'. I asked my guide if he was with me in this particular life and got the reply that he was my counsel.
When I got home that afternoon, I decided to check the details online, just out of curiosity, not expecting to find anything. I put '1487' into Google and found the Wikipedia page for that year. It turns out that in 1487 a pretender to the throne, calling himself Edward, Earl of Warwick, was crowned 'King' in Dublin, Ireland and challenged Henry VII for the throne of England.
I don't think I would have had any prior knowledge of these facts, as I was never really interested in history at school. I don't know if my experience could be considered a validation as such, but it's certainly an interesting collection of 'random' meditation flashes thrown together into something that history shows actually happened.
I have had a number of other flashes of what might be past lives, probably between five and ten so far, but none with as much researchable content as this one. Really looking forward to that past life regression, whenever it finally happens. A trip to Warwick Castle is also planned for later in the year, so it'll be interesting to see if anything else emerges spontaneously whilst there.
Thank you for reading this and sorry for droning on a bit.
Carl
