Famous Past Lives: 6 Common Assumptions

I have been informed that around 70% of the people who come to this site have never been the people they claimed to be. A lot of them are not even famous lives. I am reliably informed too that the moderation team is one of the worst offenders.

I wished I had the clarity of knowing The Truth. I don’t.
You can even question why this should be important.

Hi BenjaminFR.

I was wondering if you could clarify something for me.

You say the King etc claimants on tv and such cast a doubtful shadow on reincarnation yet you say you respect the people on this forum who make similar claims.

Do you feel the relative anonymity of this site compared to media in general indicates that people are less likely to be attention seeking on this site?

Jim, if I can interpret, reincarnation on TV is often dealt with in a very hokey manner. It's often posited on X Files type shows such as unsolved mysteries and other things. Many of the ones that I have seen are almost always about famous people and they sometimes include scenes showing them going to costume parties, dressed up as their past life. I think this all creates in the public mind that it's a fantasy, since it's treated sensationally and very unscientifically.

I think for the same reasons that TV shows feature mostly famous cases, is also the same for why you find similar claims out on the open internet, such as on blogs. I think the reason is that these places are somewhat above, or beyond the reach of scrutiny, due to the fact that you can't readily interact and debate these claims.

However, in contrast, to post in a forum like this with an active membership, that is also owned by someone who has taken the subject quite seriously, one opens themselves to scrutiny and so therefore the expectation of the burden of proof is much, much higher.

Hello Jim!

Thanks for asking for a clarification, as I feel I haven’t put my sentence in context; last thing I want is to discredit anyone posting here on this forum.

What I respect here is people posting their stories, and how they got to believe they had existed before. Not matter if it’s a prominent figure such as king or queen, anyone famous, or a lesser known identity, I respect that members here share they story and how they got to this point. Also, the fact that the forum is anonymous by essence makes it far less likely to be for attention-seeking.

On the contrary, I remember being younger and seeing, on TV or in magazines, some famous singers or other known figures claiming that they were the continuity of some prominent figure from the past. It screamed « notice me » and clearly didn’t impress me at all, because they provided no proof or explanation whatsoever and I found, really, very little interest in their statement.

I hope, again, that I didn’t offend anyone with my broad statement and if I did, please forgive me. I highly respect anyone here who, like me, took the time to put their story in writing and thank them for adding their personal adventure to the vast collection of stories, here, that show how serious Reincarnation is!

I understand Tortoro. The kind of shows William Shatner or someone would present?

Tbh I don't know how one would prove any claim. In spite of the validations I've got for my memories all I can really say about my memories is that they COULD have happened, they don't contradict history.

Personally I don't want the burden of proof. I've enough burdens to be going on with. I'm just here to make sense of my memories and reincarnation in general.

Were I here shilling a book or using it as a platform to substantiate my claim for others I would see the need to prove things, but even that's impossible IMO. Unless I claimed to be driving a model t in the old west I don't really see how my memories could be inaccurate tbh.

Hi Benjamin. Thanks for the clarification.

We are all equal here that's for sure. Prominence has no real relation to any of our spiritual journeys. We are all in the same boat and perhaps even in a position to help each other.

Yea, I've seen such media saturated claims myself growing up and I instantly placed them in the 'notice me...tinfoil hat' brigade. It made me dismiss reincarnation as a whole with the exception of children's past lives claims, whose documentaries always got my attention if not my true belief at the time.

Are you talking about the decision to go public or keep it to yourself? I honestly think reincarnation is about what it means to us, as individuals, since what's happened to us only makes sense in it's own context and frame of reference.

I sort of feel like to an extent, going public is a waste of time.. I've had quite a few people contact me, but they're more interested in my research than me in particular. On the flip side, there's so much drama around my family, I'd like to be able to go on record and cut through some of it. I would only do it as a noble gesture though, I doubt it would even register on any kind of scale.

I've always said though, I think people with real memories are looking for real answers, not recognition or fame. I've gotten a few answers, but I've got many more questions in return.

Yea, I mean all of those shows hosted by robert stack or in seach of with lenorad nimoy.

No. I agree on that Totoro. Making any claim on a board such as this will always leave anyone open to scrutiny...but have I really gone public? Jim is my username not my real name for instance.

Before I found the online reincarnation community I was burdened with my memories alone. Not 'going public' was driving me utterly insane. I was a mass of confusion and fears. Now I have a little more clarity and have even made some good friends. That's enough for me.

What does your research entail?

I've drama around my family. They don't believe in reincarnation so to them I've joined the fringe element. It can be frustrating and isolating.

Yup. Like you I have got so many answers that I now have many more questions. That's why I find reincarnation a constantly engaging and malleable topic.

I tell you though, if I ever got recognition or fame I'd run for the hills. I don't need that nonsense in my life. I just want to live it out in peace and anonymity.

I'm fine with being average and nobody for the same reasons ha ha.

The drama isn't around my current family, but our past lives. My wife is the only one I've talked to about it openly with and my friend I think it quite fully aware of his past life, even if he doesn't recognize it as such.

In China, we've all become soap opera characters to the point that fictional shows are believed over numerous interviews and real facts.. much of what has been written about them in English too is racist and sensationalist. I just find it frustrating. I don't think in the grand scheme of things, there's anything I can do other that appeal to an individual or two's sense of curiosity.

I've had an ongoing thread here for a few years. I had a blog account somewhere, but I felt it was too public so I stopped writing it. I've collected a lot of information over the years like photos, diary pages, interviews etc. and I've commented on blog posts and contacted several people, namely a friend of my past live's grand son and the current incarnation of my friend's tutor. Every now and then I'll have people email and ask me for more information for personal or educational reasons.

I can relate Totoro.

Some of my past lives are depicted as an action hero or graphic novel type warriors. Yet in my memory I was just another bloke living his life during those times. I find people dazzled by the nonsense around my past lives as opposed to considering the real human being. That's frustrating to me because its not realistic at all.

Anyone I've known from my past lives are unaware of reincarnation and even if they were they aren't in my life anymore.

That's the way I look at myself; I was just a girl living, then. Especially when I know and see the persistent issues me and my family are dealing with and how they've flown from our past lives to our present, it's even harder for me to respect much of what's been written about us and the misinterpretations. None of it's realistic.. although it does all contain a grain of truth.

It strikes me all as so juvenile. Like old school yard jokes when someone tells you to hold your tongue and say ash pit and then they run to the teacher screaming that you said aww ****. It's like grow up, seriously and stop it. We were people, like your mom or dad.

le groan and sigh!

I can confirm that a lot of "common knowledge" or stuff that has been written is nonsense. Fake news are not a modern invention and neither is "V.I.P." gossip. What you hear of past people and past events often is hopelessly exaggerated, and it often is hard to divide fact from myth, gossip or propaganda. Some historical figures are put on a pedestal and worshiped while others are condemned, when in fact, all of them were humans with their own personal feelings, problems and struggles.
(I do not "claim" any FPL, it just irks me still. It is not fair how some people are treated by history, how they are made appear "better" or "worse" than they really were. Personally, I do not believe in superheroes or devils incarnate, and to my personal belief true Saints are extremely rare.)

I've come to the view that a lot of what is said or written about other people, past or present, amounts mostly to something which fulfils a need, whether that need is to praise or condemn, there is no real intention of getting at the truth, but the aim is to sound good to their peers, or to prop up a particular worldview. Equally, few are able to even imagine what it is or was like to be that person, it is something beyond their grasp. Best to stick to the facts, so far as they may exist, and withhold from passing judgement.

I had two false memories.. One was Anne Boleyn .. It felt very real .. ie the fear of having my head chopped off , the clothes in the court , King Henry ..

As I got deeper into it { it took me a year to get there } I remembered the truth ..I was doing a lot of body work at that time . In the therapy around my stiff neck I saw the truth ... That I was a young girl in the court and that just being around the horrible event put the deep fear and the deep feeling of relating to Anne so much that I felt I could have been her > Much later on I had another memory of King Henry raping me .. Although it was never thought of as rape as those were the days where women had no voice.. I believe this added to my intense involvement with Anne's sense of her life .

The other was a very vivid scene of being in a hospital tent in the Civil War and having my leg amputated.. Later on after more deep investigation I realized I was actually living someone else's memory .. I knew a man this life who I was attracted to immediately .. one of those why I dont know attractions as the relationship did not go anywhere as we are so different . I remembered him being my husband . We were married through an arranged marriage just prior to the civil war.. He went off to war and never returned .. I remained a lonely spinster with regrets of not having a fulfilled life ..

I came to perceive he was the soldier having his leg taken off . and he died never to return .

Soul Friendly, your civil war amputation statements reminded me of the statistics -

Primary amputation mortality rate: 28%
Secondary amputation mortality rate: 52%

Gory details .

Gruesome war experiences ... ... I would surmise the reason I was taking on my friends past life memory was because of our relationship as well it is the right leg I believe he had amputated... Now if only he would be interested in my story ...

I just noticed in my personal picture it is the right leg that is so well stretched out / strong looking ... .. I can see now what attracted me to this picture..I also had a life as a male dancer ..

And here I am still struggling with a weak right leg which has bothered me since 1975 alot and I now believe has been inflamed since the childhood vaccine for polio.. Time with tell as I have a homeopathic treatment coming up next week to try to deal with it .. we are treating for childhood vaccines.. ..
