Getting a Feel for Others' Past Lives?

Good morning, guys. I didn't think that there was another thread like this anywhere on the Forum, so I decided to make one myself. So, have any of you ever felt as though you can just look at someone, and somehow sort of know where that soul has come from? Unfortunately I find this a little hard to talk about, as I do with everything having to do with previous lives, but...Well, I've personally felt that way about certain people many times before. I don't know why. One good example that immediately comes to mind has to do with one of the first times I saw my best friend...We were only just getting to know each other at that point, but I clearly remember how it hit me, upon one of the first times that I saw her, that I couldn't help but picture her having lived a past life in Ancient Rome, as the wealthy wife of a prestigious senator. It was almost as though I was having PL flashbacks on my friend's behalf, and the sensation of these flashbacks would never quite go away, and so one day I finally got up the nerve to ask her if she'd ever been to Italy, because I couldn't think of any more nonchalant way to bring up the subject of reincarnation. Like, if she believed in it or not. But anyway, the answer I got from her pretty much astounded me - my friend said, in these very words, ''Oh, no, I've never been to Italy, but I've always very much wanted to travel there. I've always wanted to see Rome, and look at all those ancient buildings. I don't understand why, but I feel that I've walked them before.''

Isn't that interesting? I feel as though my friend's statement concerning the ancient buildings in Rome might very well mean something. I could be wrong too, of course, but has anyone else had a similar experience?

Interesting Raakel, I can't say that I've ever experienced a past life memory on somebody else's behalf, although I have read about others who have experienced this. Maybe your friend triggered memories of your own? Perhaps you were there with her in that past life in Italy?..... maybe you were that 'prestigious senator'?

Don't worry Raakel, you're certainly not alone there. This is why I'm so glad that we have the forum, because I certainly couldn't talk about any of this out in the open

That's a good question, but I don't think that I lived with this particular friend in a past life in Ancient Rome. I could be wrong, but I just don't think so. I've always been superficially interested in Ancient Rome, but aside from that, nothing has ever drawn me to that particular time period or made me feel as though I might have been alive then. This is, however, the same friend I've talked a little about before in other posts. I think that she and I most definitely shared at least two past lives together, though naturally we're both quite afraid to discuss our memories much. :freak: Truly though, I have to say that I actually got the feeling that the husband this friend of mine has in this life might have very well been the prestigious senator I recalled so vaguely from her past life. Again though, I could be completely wrong about all this, and I can't help but doubt myself constantly.

great question! how long have you had this gift? the only experience that comes to mind is when someone sends me a past life photo. if i get a 'feeling' their past life energy and the persons present photo will match. sometimes images will come to mind but not as detailed as yours. it would be interesting to see if you and your friend will go to rome and watch the reactions. i was lucky enough to visit rome in this lifetime and it was a wonderful trip.

I personally think that what you experience in these situations is quite normal for someone like you. And by saying "like you", I mean someone who understands the complexity of their being. You are aware that you are much more than a simple physical being and you long ago opened the door to your spiritual side that allows a channel between your conscious mind and your spiritual being.


Your spiritual nature communicates with other spirits who are incarnate and most often the other person is not aware of the interaction that takes place between our spiritual natures. People who are aware of this can sense consciously that interaction taking place - you are conscious of the spiritual interaction with another spiritual being and it manifests as a knowing feeling.


The important thing, in my opinion, is to know how to handle this information without making yourself appear to be a little goofy to others. You seem to be able to handle this "knowing" very well as you know what to say and what not to say to your acquaintance - I think that is a sign of spiritual maturity.

Raakel, this is a very interesting question and I know exactly what you are saying. Now I have to say, that I have felt this same thing with myself at times when it comes to others. It seems I can be only around some people a short time then I get a general sense of some of their past lives it seems. This can be quite common for myself at times. But thru the years I have learned though to keep my mouth shut and not say a thing.

To speak of the skill you mentioned, Raakel, I think it's very hard for anyone to separate psychic sensibility from possible past life memory, because the two are so closely intertwined. Thus, I imagine that it could be very confusing. Perhaps, you will be able to get further clarification with meditation. With time you may be able to determine answers by trusting your intuition.

Hi Raakel! It's been awhile since I've responded on the forum, I wanted to say that I know exactly how you feel. This happens to me quite often, usually when someone starts describing a dream or a vision they had. I sometimes will see the same scene over and over to the point where I just "know" and have had some of these memories validated by describing certain details that were not given originally. The first time this happened to me was with another member on this forum, several years ago with someone who I had never met before. What really blew my mind was just recently - one of my friends tapped into one of my memories...described it clearly, and this was a few days after I validated one of his!


This is a gift and you're not alone. I think it's easier for some to tune in on those that have that connection open on that same deeper, spiritual level. With practice and meditation, I'm sure it can be fined tune even more.


There are several people that I know that I seem to pick up on too, but don't bring this up to them simply because it's hard to talk to some people about this kind of thing. That's why I enjoy coming to this forum and reading through these posts because we can all relate and share what most people may not understand

Hello Raakel.


It certainly does sound as though you have a gift in this. I know others who are able to pick up on others in a very similar way as what you've described.


Whenever I have picked up on someone else's past incarnation so strongly it has been because we had shared that particular lifetime together. However I have done it, albeit to a much lesser degree, with some people that I've not had a past life connection to on one or two occassions. In those instances though I am unable to get anything clear about the more past incarnation & it is more just a generalized feeling of who & what they were.
