First I'd like to say sorry for deleting my other thread! I got a bit nervous -- I've never shared many of my memories and feelings before, and I'd really been looking to see if anyone had the same emotions when it came to their past lives. I've found letting go to be tough; I still constantly think of and wish I could be back in one of the lives I once lived. I just wasn't ready to share them.

But I've learned that everyone here is extremely kind, and no one is a stranger to reincarnation  so I've decided to share a bit about a life I remember from the Victorian era in which I was very content.

My first memory of this life was of a young girl sitting at a large dining table of dark oak. She wore a white frock with pretty lace and flowers in her long, curly black hair. She was staring intensely at a candle burning in front of her, hands close to the flame, as though wondering whether or not to touch it. I was watching her, amused because I had told her many times not to play with fire and yet she did it anyway, but was pretending to be stern and upset. I fold my arms and clear my throat, "Charlotte." I am using my 'warning tone' but when she sees me she smiles brightly, and I can't help but to smile back.

The next memory I got almost immediately after the first. Charlotte is playing the piano for an elegant woman in a deep sapphire colored evening gown, with gloves and plenty of jewelry. She is even wearing jewels in her hair, which is the same as the girl's, but in an up-do. I am watching from a corner of the room, holding a glass of wine, not daring to come any closer. It is my home, but I do not want to disturb them; they look happy. The woman suddenly looks my way, and then walks to where I am standing. She smiles, then grabs my free hand and laughs. “You’re a very good man, Nathaniel.” I remember feeling very ill at ease by her touching me, but her compliment warmed me.

After that I began to remember a lot more. My name was Nathaniel, though I am still trying to discover what my last name had been. I cannot remember what I did for a living, either, though it seems I did a lot of reading, writing, and avoiding social gatherings. My younger brother had joined the navy as a young man. He went missing at sea during a storm, cast overboard while trying to secure a rope. When he had joined, he’d come to me and made me promise him something that was very important him. He wanted me to take care of his wife if anything ever happened to him. Although I’d never married (I had been a very private man), my brother left behind a young wife and a baby. With no other family to turn to and no way of supporting herself, his wife Virginia accepted my offer of help and moved into my own home. I felt very uncomfortable with them being there, but couldn’t break such an important promise. It took many years for me to get used to them, but once I did, Charlotte was the center of my attention. I spoiled her and treated her as though she were my own daughter. I eventually fell in love with Virginia, though the whole thing was completely socially inappropriate and I never told her, or treated her as anything but my sister. I never did marry.

It was a very happy, nearly care-free life, and I remember clearly being extremely content.

What are your favorite memories?

Hi Elsie :)

No need to apologize for deleting your other thread. You're not obliged to share anything that you feel uncomfortable with sharing, most of us here can understand that.

Thanks for sharing your memories of Nathaniel, very interesting. If it's not too personal a question, do you feel like you know any of those people in your present life?

Hi Chris!

I can't be sure, but I often treat my little sister more like a daughter than a sibling. I will try to make a long story short. Sometimes I don't agree with the way my parents raise her and have to bite my tongue. When she acts out, I feel the urge to correct her and sometimes I do -- I hate seeing her act rude. I am the one who always tells her to get on a coat when its too cold not to wear one outside. I'm also the one whose always spoiling her with gifts and surprises, whenever I find one for her. When she has trouble with kids at school, it hurts me very badly and I wish I could protect her, do something, anything. I can't begin to explain the helplessness and hurt I feel when I hear of other kids being rude to her -- I just think of what a wonderful person she is, and don't understand how anyone could dislike her.

I also remember clearly one time when I was walking down the street with her in the winter, and with my father; she slipped on a patch of ice and for a moment I was so scared. I grabbed her quickly, and just kept thinking "I couldn't ever let anything happen to her. I'd blame myself. I couldn't live with myself." I was only 10, and she was 7.

The "slipping on ice" event was really what triggered everything else. Now whenever I look at her, I see someone who I feel is like a daughter to me rather than a sister. When I began remembering the life of Nathaniel, the feeling got even stronger. I now believe it is very possible that she had been Charlotte. I have no confirmation, as my sister does not believe in reincarnation, though I do try to get her to tell me of any dreams and strange memories she has.

Hiya Elsie! :)

Thank you for sharing  It was an interesting read and reminds me of memories I have of the same period. It's nice to read about content lives too. Most of mine were non traumatic as well and I think it holds true for most people that our lives were just peaceful and content. Do you know where this life took place geographically?

Have your sister ever talked about reincarnation with you? Do you think she shared that lifetime with you?

Well my sister does not believe in reincarnation, though she has a lot of very realistic WWII dreams that never go away. I ask her about what other dreams she has a lot because I truly do suspect that she shared a life with Nathaniel.

I'm not sure where exactly it took place yet, either, just as I am lost on the last name. From the names, however, I suspect it was either Great Britain or one of their colonies. I remember living in a city, though.

Hi Elsie!

Thank you for sharing -

I enjoyed reading your posts, the detail & way you describe your memories is so clear...I also enjoy hearing about happy lives.

Only share when you feel comfortable about it, past lives are a very personal thing - there's no rush! ;)

Its quite normal for people in your family to be related or connected with you one way or another.. I too enjoy hearing on happy lives, or at least, resolved ones.

I can relate to you Elsie. I wish I could be back to a much simpler existence.Yet when I think of how primitive medicine was back then, I start to appreciate what we have today.

Still its romantic to think about life in Victorian England, or the old west as an Indian. I really hope on the other side I can relive some of those memories
