Hi everyone. I have been reading this website with interest and thought it would be time to introduce myself. I'm Mike and in my mid 20's. I could make a very long story as to what has motivated me to join the conversation but I'll save most of those details for later. I would have to honestly say I'm unconvinced of the reality of reincarnation but that's not to say I don't take this topic very seriously. I've known about Carol Bowman from the old Unsolved Mysteries show and she came across as an extremely intelligent and caring mother. I've read this forum carefully and am very impressed with the high level of intelligence and open mindedness and am very interested in hearing what the community here has to say.
I've also had several strange experiences that could be interpreted as evidence of a past life. As a kid, I had recurring memories of living on a farm in the Mid-Western United States. While I've never had any concrete evidence I could research further I'm recently determined my memories line up with styles for appliances, houses, etc in the US in the 60's and 70's. I've also had terrible nightmares as a kid and horrible fears of enclosed spaces and of authority (like being arrested/imprisoned). Even though I've never hurt a fly in my life and came from a family with very high integrity I still have an irrational fear of police and other similar authority figures to the point where I almost expect to be accused of and arrested for a serious crime when talking to a police officer.
So, what has ultimately convinced me to start posting? If there is just one thing that you should know about me it's that I love being around babies and toddlers. Even though I am single and am the youngest member in my family, small children always get excited whenever they see me. There is a daycare where I work and all the children get extremely happy whenever they see me to the point where the staff have a hard time getting them interested in anything but saying hi to me. I also have very frequent experiences with babies and toddlers whom I'm never met nearly jumping for joy when they see me.
Whenever I go out in public (like to the mall), I usually have a large number of babies nearly twist their necks and fall out of their strollers when they see me and toddlers frequently run up to me with a big smile and a 'hi' and some even hand me their toys and explain them to me completely out the blue. I've even had some babies without warning say a few words to me and simultaniously watched their parent's jaws drop. It's even gotten to the point where I have to be careful driving: several little kids have suddenly made a mad dash for my car when they see me.
. What's most bizarre of all is that I'm not the kind of person who would look friendly to a child: I'm extremely tall and frequently look like I just crawled out of bed, as I wear jeans and a t-shirt almost all the time.
What's really amazed me most of all is hearing some of these children talk. Lately, I've had to give my head a shake and ask myself 'did that two year old just say that?' I've never heard any child directly reference a past life, but some of the children have said things that have completely blown my mind. In short, they frequently make statements that I would expect to hear from someone much older and wiser than myself and in one case, a child who just turned two gave me some excellent advice that helped me solve a problem at work.
I'll be sure to share of the conversations I have had with toddlers but it's becoming clear to me that in almost every case, children are much smarter than adults. Once you stop talking down to children and treat them just like you would ordinary adults, it's incredible to see and hear how intelligent they are. I know when I was 3-4 I was constantly annoyed by adults and the low opinion they had of my intelligence and it's becoming clear I am not alone.
