I have found a therapist but...

Marieta

Hello,

I have found a past lifes therapist near Barcelona, where I live.
She seems to be a good therapist and I've read good opinions about her.
I'll see her in august. She has told me that it is necessary to have a "conflict" inside to start a past life regression. I mean that she focuses on this conflict to discover what happened in a past life about this.

What do you think about this? Do you know this kind of regression?

I am a little afraid of discovering just bad experiences from past lifes... I would like to remember also good times but with this kind of regression I am not sure if this is possible.

Do you have any experience?

Thank you and, again, sorry for my english...

Marieta, your English is just fine. I think that each therapist has developed differing techniques that they are comfortable with. Conflict and highly charged emotional issues are certainly triggers that bring past life memories to the surface. In my own case it was the death of my family. The sadness was manifesting itself in my current life in underlying ways. Taking me to that time was easy for my skilled therapist.

I would not be fearful of the "bad" things or traumatic themes, I think we remember for a reason. But here is the key, the therapist must be skilled and trained to help you handle this. Feel free to ask your therapist about these concerns.

Could you share with us if this type of therapy is easily available in your country? How did you go about finding them?

Best wishes!

Hi Marieta :)

Is there a specific reason why you feel afraid to remember bad experiences from a past life? Maybe we can reassure you.

Maybe you feel that remembering something bad while you are regressed means that you have no control over events as they unfold? Fortunately, this is not the case. Your subconscious will only allow you to see things that you are able to handle, and this is backed up by the therapist, who will guide you towards less traumatic experiences if it all becomes too much for you. He/She will help you to take things one step at a time until you're ready to face the issues that may be troubling you in your present life.

I know I've already mentioned this in the forum before, but I'm happy to repeat if it helps to reassure you. I've experienced a few bad memories while under regression, but there was one particular memory that stood out, and remembering it was extremely traumatic and left me feeling emotionally drained for several hours after. I was very subdued and I thought the whole experience would leave me depressed for days or even weeks after. But surprisingly, I awoke the next morning feeling like I've never felt before ..... in a good way! The nightmares I'd been having all but ceased, and I felt like a weight that I'd been carrying for a long time had been lifted from my shoulders, and people at work even made comments about my positive change of mood. I never even realized that I'd been walking around looking so unhappy. So my point is, that a few moments of unpleasant recall can have a much more beneficial impact on your life when you can see how it affects you in the present.

So go into that regression with no fear, and an open mind, and see what happens. I've never heard of a regression doing anybody any harm up until now. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

Hi Marieta! Like you, I thought that I could just walk into the office of a regression therapist, and be guided to the ultimate spiritual proof for myself that reincarnation does exist. Also, like you, I was told to focus on a personal difficulty. I've come to find out that such an approach shows that the therapist is properly trained, because aiming at a particular issue is the most likely way of looking backwards. Otherwise, there is no clear entry point to your subconscious.

Like everyone has said, there is nothing to worry about. If you discover something "bad" or uncomfortable, you can only come out ahead by bringing things out into the open. If you read Carol's books, you will see that the process is not so mysterious, and you are in complete control of yourself. Good luck!

Hi Marieta. It is important to remember that she is a therapist. Resolving conflicts is what she does every day. I'm sure she is more than happy to help you with anything that is unsettling for you that might be past life related. Memories are often tied to emotions. It is probably the easiest way for her to guide you into the past. I don't think you have anything to worry about. She is likely a well-trained professional, and will do everything she can to make your experience both enlightening and beneficial to you.

After you go I hope share your experience with us.

Thank you all for your messages... You are really helping me :)

Your words reassure me.

As Chris says, I think I am afraid of losing my control, of not being able to handle the memories... But, as you say, the therapist will be there to help me. I have a good feeling with her. She is an experienced therapist.

I searched on the internet to find another therapist in the nearby and I also asked other therapists I know (not regression therapists) and they orientated me.

This kind of therapy is really unknown here, and is very difficult to find somebody to do a good regression. There is a big taboo, I think. People here don't believe at all in reincarnation... So I keep my interest in secret. I cannot share it with anybody (just my husband, who accepts my interest but doesn't share it).

Since I was a kid I have had a big interest in reincarnation. I have had some clear dreams in my life that made me think that reincarnation could be true.

On the other hand, the death of my brother some years ago, increased the need to discover if there is something more after death.

Thank you for your help and for sharing with me your experiences. Of course, after my regression in august I will be here to tell you everything. :)

Marieta, I'm sorry to hear you lost your brother. Many of us have been prompted by death and loss in our search for meaning in life. As I say over and over...life is a journey. And as such there are markers and events that are meant to teach our soul a deeper understanding of existence. Your decision to look deeper into your past lives will undoubtedly be a milestone in your journey. We wish you well and await your story.

I would also like to express my sadness about the loss of your brother, my condolences.

As for the regression, I suggest that in addition to Carol, you might want to read Many Lives, Many Masters by Paul Weiss. From all that I've read the whole point of remembering is to confront the baggage we have brought with us so that we can more fully live this life. Remember and then let it go. Remembering good times might make it harder to walk away from a PL and therefore take away from this life.

Good luck, I look forward to your results.

Oh, and many congratulations on the World Cup! You all deserved it even before the Dutch played so brutally! Congrats!!!!!
