industrial question + general question

I'm a bit new here, and while I've dabbled in reading about past lives sometimes and trying those guided meditations CDs (without success), I think it's good to be able to post here and get some input from others.

  • My first question concerns a recurring dream.[edited for privacy]
  • My second question is about that age-old stuff about how time periods and places we feel drawn to being the ones we lived in at some point. I definitely felt very drawn to a few time periods as a child, for example when I heard music or saw images on TV, before I could identify what they were or their historical meaning. Now that I'm older I know what they are, and I'm still very interested in them. I'm also really interested in other places and setting because I'm slightly obsessed with History, so my question is, where do you draw the line? At which point do you know that you're drawn to something for purely geeky reasons versus past lives? I assume that the difference is the emotional punch but I could also think that my newer interests sometimes don't click with me on that level because they're not my "usual" interests.

For you first question, that sounds like some sort of power plant or place with generators and power transformers. Your image to me looks like some sort of giant insulating cap or protective covering. Did you see rows of them? If you did that might be what they were.


For your second question, the key is to realize that when you were a kid, you may have had unexplained knowledge or interests from a previous life. For instance, for me, it was quite easy to identify automobiles and clothing in old B&W movies they used to show when I was a kid because my previous life has seen them as they existed in the 20's and 30's.


Do you recall having unexplained knowledge from when you were younger? That may be an important clue. Also regarding "geeky" interests, you may be surprised to find that it's quite likely that they were also your same interests in a previous life. From what I can tell, I have nearly the exact same interests as my previous life. You continue as a person from life to life, but you also grow in experience.

Good questions. I can't help much with the first, but I'm somewhat familiar with industrial history so I will have a think and see if anything comes up. As for the second, for me the difference between a PL and non-PL time period interest is the level of interest and the emotional content. I have a passing interest in most periods of history and world cultures, but some time periods and cultures cause me very large feelings of nostalgia or longing, or just plain obsession! For example, I'm interested in Tudor things, but there's no real emotion to go with it, whereas if I read anything about the late Palaeolithic I'm overcome with an almost overwhelming sense of longing, which can get quite overbearing sometimes. Other time periods have similar over-the-top reactions for me. So yea, for me at least, I can tell by the strength of the emotional reaction.

The image I linked to is a glass recycling bin : angel I linked to it to explain more or less the general shape of the objects because it was the closest I could think of. A power plant sounds like the sort of thing that could make sense, I'll do some research about them! And yes, there were rows of them.


That makes a lot of sense, thanks. There were definitely things -- usually music and clothes -- I could identify before I learnt about those time periods. It's hard to explain.


I think I've had some unexplained knowledge and interests, but I'll confirm with my mother before saying anything :laugh: . She'll remember it better than I do.

Your description makes sense, I do feel like some time periods/places get stronger, more emotional reactions from me than others, even when it comes to very popular time periods, some of them just don't mean much to me even though I find them interesting to read about.

Welcome to our group. Do you know what electrical transformers are? Did they have any wires connected to them? Anything sticking out of the tops? Did it look like
images
? In one of my regressions that i did using self-hypnosis tapes I saw myself standing in front of a wall with many large dials. It was a factory and my job was to monitor the dials. This was about 1887. Many, if not most, of the members here are history buffs. Maybe it's because we remember past lives? You should start a journal and write down what you remember. Also write down dreams, etc. What time periods and locations are you drawn to, etc.
 
^ I don't know if there were any wires on top of them. I believe so, and I seem to remember other assorted apparatus around the place as well. I think there were those sort of dials that look a bit like clocks, but I don't know if I'm just making that up unintentionally now. As to whether they looked like those things, what size are they? That doesn't look like the things in my dream, though, it looks a bit too... modern, I guess? Maybe they were older versions?


Thank you for the journal tip, that sounds like a good idea. Is it worth doing it even if I don't seem to have regular flashbacks like some members here do? I don't want to accidentally trick myself into remembering things due to pressuring myself to remember things, if this makes sense.

we are fanscinate and dwell upon


because most likely we were there .
