Interesting thing my 3 yr old told me

Hi Mamakaykay,

My son also gave the "i just know" answer a lot and talked excessively about God. I determined after some interesting conversations with him that he actually had quite a bit of memory of the between life state. He just didn't understand that is where he was before he came here. Its got to be a tough thing for them to wrap their minds around. He really did remember God and being 'in heaven before he was born.' He doesn't talk about it nearly as much. He will turn 7 in a few days.

We too are not religious and my husband is also an atheist raised Southern Baptist.

One thing about the "I just know" answer is that for us, it always seemed to come up when it was something that he really didn't know how he knew or could not articulate that what he was expressing had happened to him 'in heaven before he was born.' I learned to really pay attention the the "I just know" answers.

Once when we were at Deborah's house, we were looking at a painting that she had done with some women and I think one of them was plowing in a field. He was talking about the woman performing this farming task - I don't clearly remember the picture but when I asked him how he knew it (I think he was 5 at the time and had not ever seen anyone farm) he gave me an 'I just know' answer.

At 4, you still know what your child knows and is exposed to but once they hit 5 or 6 and start school, its hard to know where it all comes from. Bear with me, I have a point. I didn't know if he had ever seen a picture of someone farming because he had started kindergarten by that time. However, the 'I just know' answer tipped me off that it may be past life knowledge. I write that kind of stuff down and keep it for future reference if he says anything else. So far, its related to nothing but you never know.

Mamakaykay,

I just wanted to congratulate you as I saw this thread only now - you have the most beautiful newborn daughter, and her big brother is very cute and sounds very adorable!

I agree with others - please write down what Cameron is saying for future reference. I'm sure he'll appreciate it when he's older. I think it's very likely he has a PL bond with his sister.

I had my first child - a daughter, too on 9th of November, so they're the same age with Aaliyah. :) I think she also came to my dreams in her previous incarnation - first when we decided to give a baby a chance to come and then when she was conceived. She actually came to interrupt my nightmare about having a baby and not knowing how to take care of her, and told me I shouldn't worry - everything would go fine. In the morning I knew I was pregnant though I told myself otherwise so I wouldn't get my hopes up for nothing. It was an amazing experience and I trusted her words and wasn't worried during pregnancy. :)

Thanks for sharing, Mamakaykay, and please keep us posted.

Another happy mum, Karoliina

My congratulations to such great kids. As a fan of Frank Herberts Dune I love your daughters name Aaliyah. Alia in the books is born with all the memories of her anchestors and has indeed some trouble in her youth.

Welcome to the forum, Shai-Hulud! Do you have any stories or memories to share? If you have questions, just ask away ;)

Hello Reynardine,

I'm not exactly new, I just did not visit for a long time. Meanwhile the forum changed and while my login-data was kept, my postcount was resetted. I'm a 36 male, not married and no children. So it is no surprise, that I have about zero first hand expieriece except one (which I described in the old forum) about my then very young godchild who played some blues on a harp along with a friend of mine playing the accompaniment which was a style of music he never heart and an instrument he never held before. Sometimes the music was interupted with the typical kind of childsplay with a harp.

Surprisingly the boy has grown up with no special interest in music and is now a young adult (I was a young godfather) - not playing any musical instrument.

I always saw reincarnation as the only logical explantion to one of the mysteries of life opposed the typical christion standpoint of being born to and up in a prepared afterlife. And it makes so much sense. The above event reassured me and as soon as the internet came up I did a lot of research on the topic which eventually lead me here :-)

Hi Andreas,

Sorry, I didn't know! Well, in that case, welcome back! Thank you for telling us about your godchild again, that must have been a fascinating experience! It's too bad he never developed his interest in music further, but maybe he wasn't meant to in this life...

Kaykay,

How are Cameron and Aaliyah doing? Do they still have a strong bond? Is Cameron still talking about god?

Karoliina :)

Karollina, HI! I didn't realize this post was still close to the top, lol. Hard to believe I started it when Cameron was 3...he is now 5! Aaliyah is now 15 months old and they are still very close. Aaliyah is going through a "bully" stage where she will lash out at Cameron sometimes and he just hugs her and tells her to be gentle, lol. If I reprimand her for being too rough I will say "give CamCam love...be gentle". She will say "gentle" (or her version of it, lol) and hug him tight to her. He gets the most positive reactions from her but also the most negative. When she's in a mood she will scream or lash out at him but when she's in a good mood he's the one who gets her biggest laughs and smiles!

As for Cameron talking about God, he doesn't do it so much anymore though if I directly ask him he will say the same things he told me 2 years ago about knowing what God's house looks like and God being a "bubble". I am always listening for more signs from any of the kids!

Thanks for the update, Mamakaykay! It sounds like Cameron and Aaliyah really have a strong bond, and I think the fact that Aaliyah will lash out at Cameron just shows she really trusts him.

It's interesting Cameron's talk about god has stayed consistent. Makes me believe he really remembers something instead of having made that up. :)

This Reminds Me

mamakay,

As i read through the entirety of this thread something struck me about the birth of your daughter (thank you for honoring Aaliyah by giving your daughter her name, it's a great namesake to carry btw :) ); the man that you saw at the top of the stairs who said he was your daughter, do you think he had anything to do with your past life in the 30-50's when you were also married to a man of a different ethnicity? It's probably wrong for me to speculate and put ideas into your head, but I thought since the idea came to me perhaps it was for a reason.

Good to hear that Cameron and Aaliyah are continuing their closeness and as always, I love hearing stories about everyone's family members, especially the children.

Ginger, thanks for the compliments on the name! We always enjoyed Aaliyah (the singer's) music and when I was pregnant with Cameron we had picked that name had he been a girl as it is a pretty name (we think so anyway, lol) and it went well with our other girls' names (Ariel and Alexandra) but we had a boy that time and held on to the name!

From what I can remember of the dream I had the day Aaliyah was born the boy was wearing styles much more recent, like late 80's, early 90's? Kind of "hip hop" style, baggy jeans, it seemed like he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt or a jacket and he had pretty short hair. He was just sitting on the stairs, kind of slouched forward, legs open, real casual as he was telling me this stuff about Aaliyah. But he very well could be someone from a previous life! Or maybe my husband's? I can't wait til Aaliyah can talk more and maybe tell us!

He's 5 now and still talking!

I thought I would just keep this thread going as opposed to making a new one. I have some more very interesting things Cameron has told me and I thought I would share to see if anyone else has had memories like this or could lend any insight at all!

Cameron and I were waiting for our bus on Thursday night when he heard someone close by exclaim "Jesus Christ!" (in the swearing type of way) and he looked at me and asked "does he mean the person or the bad word?" I didn't even know he knew it could mean either for one thing so that question itself surprised me. And I told him the person meant it as a bad word because he was probably frustrated and you shouldn't use the name like that. So then I asked him how he knew the name and how he knew people sometimes used it as a swear word and he gave me a little shrug and said "I just know things". I asked him if he knew who Jesus was and he said he was "someone with God". I asked him if he knew what Jesus looked like since he had told me before he knew what God looked like and he said he thought he was black. Then he thought some more and said he was actually black and white so I don't know if he was saying that since he's mixed like that or what but it was still pretty interesting. After that our bus came but once we got on he started talking again. He asked me "do you think there are people who are bigger than us that we can't see?"

I asked him what he meant and he was basically saying there are people who are much bigger than us that we can't see or don't even know about and they don't know about us because we are so much smaller than them they can't even see us. But they just exist around us without hurting us or "stepping on us" as he said. He also said he thought there were probably people we were much bigger than too. I just wanted to keep him talking! Then his thoughts took a little different direction (he's 5, lol) and he started to tell me about Faeries. This really surprised me because I have never read him any books about Faeries and I asked him where he had heard of them and once again it was the shrug and the "I just know these things" type of reply. I asked him what they looked like and he said they were tiny and white, he said he's seen them before and that he's even actually killed one when he was really mad. This really shocked me because he's a pretty gentle kid who doesn't talk about killing things like that. I asked him why he killed the Faerie and he said he had been mad at Sissy (what he calls our oldest daughter, Ariel). He said he didn't mean to kill it and he felt bad but at the time he was so mad. I just couldn't believe all what was coming out of his mouth! Everything he said rang of truth so I don't know if this was a dream (he said it wasn't) or maybe a memory of a PL? Though I enjoy stories of mythical creatures I don't know I believe Faeries exist so for him to talk so frankly and honestly about them was surprising. he definately believed what he was saying was true, I could tell by his tone and manner he wasn't just joking around or telling a story. Has anyone here had any memories of Faeries or creatures similar? I plan on doing some research on them now that he has come to me about this but I would love to know if there are others who believe or have seen them like he says he has!

Hello Mamakaykay and thanks for the update! :)

It sounds to me Cameron is one of the children that is sensitive to the spirit world, but can't always phrase the things he's seeing or experiencing - which can of course be a little confusing sometimes.

I don't have any strong personal beliefs about mythical creatures, but I know many people believe in devas (nature spirits) and that faeries and elves are human perceptions of them. I think it is awfully nice if they really exist!

Karoliina - always a child at heart :D

Thanks, Karollina! I have always been amazed by the things Cameron says be it his advanced vocabulary at such an early age (imagine a 4 year old rolling his eyes at you and saying "well obviously..." lol) or his stories about God and the Fae! Whenever he starts talking about things like this I definately take note! I'm not sure if I ever posted about this here before but when Cameron was about 18 months or so he started seeing my deceased brother Zach and talking to him. My brother passed away as a newborn back in 1992, so 10 years before Cameron was even born! But it was startling to come into his room after a nap and have him look over my shoulder, smiling and saying "byebye Zach!" as he left his bedroom! I am staying home sick today so maybe I will try to see if Cameron cares to share any more stories about the Faerie world!

More from Cameron!

When I started this thread so long ago I had no idea I would be able to continue Cameron's story like this but here we are...he will be 6 in a few weeks (December 6th-his Golden Birthday!) and he is still amazing me with things he talks about.

The other night he was stressing out over the fact he lost a couple temp. tatoos our older son gave him. This is the convo that we had:

Cam:Mom, do you know where my tatoos that Bubba gave me are?

Me:No, but if I find them I will let you know.

Cam:Well I will tell you what they look like. One says "Jesus loves me" and the other one is a heart and it says "Jesus is in my heart" (our son got these at a church trunk or treat with his best friend).

Me:Ok I will let you know if I find them.

Cam:Do you think Jesus is black?

Me: I don't know, do you think he is?

(Cameron looked thoughtful)

Cam:Yea I think he is.

Me:Well he could be, some people believe he is but some people believe he's white.

Cam:Well he's black, I think he's black. Does Dad think he's black?

Me:I don't know. He might, you can go ask him.

At this point Cameron became distracted by something else and never did ask my husband his opinion on the matter.

All of this was totally random and until I looked back at this thread I had forgotten we've had a similar conversation in the past. I have no idea where he gets these ideas from, as I have said before we are not a religious family and we don't talk about Jesus very often.

More about Cameron these days...he is doing very well in Kindergarten, he's very bright and well liked, his teacher adores him, says he is a very caring boy, he will often finish his own work then do his friends' work for them if they are having trouble. I had to explain to him it's ok to help his friends but they won't learn anything if he does their work! The teacher told me he is also very artistic (but we knew that, lol you can't leave paper within his reach unless you don't mind him drawing on it!).

He is going through the annoying little boy stage, driving his older siblings crazy but on the other hand Aaliyah seems to have outgrown some of her bullyish ways towards him and the other day he actually told me "I think Aaliyah likes me now, she's being nicer to me!" She asks about him all day while he's at school and gets so excited when he gets home.

I will post more as I get it from him!

Mamakaykay, How cool is that!? I would have been beside myself with Awe.
At least you've been forwarned about her teen years too. Can you imagine if we all received a little bug in our ear like that?

Absolutely incredible. I just had to let you know that.
I hate to say this... but almost ALL teenagers are difficult I have two right now...so that's just a given...lol, But seriously, they are adorable kids, mamakay, I really enjoyed reading this thread and seeing the picture. I am still reading through it. Good luck in thirteen years...lol!!!!
