Italy – Our Story Continues

Ailish

Administrator Emerita
As many of you know from our post in the spirit section, I was recently in California visiting Deborah again. :D We did several meditations and we had some interesting things come up – small validations, with a big emotional impact – for us both.

If you haven’t already – you can read about our lifetime together as two sisters, Valeria and Nicoletta, growing up on a small vineyard in Northern Italy in the early 1900’s.

During our meditation we both asked at the beginning to be shown what we need to see. I believe Deborah asked for healing – and I asked to see more of the connection between us. Neither of us knew what question the other had asked, it was done in silence - in fact, we never discussed beforehand that we were even going to ask a question. It was only after the meditation while we were discussing our experiences, that Deborah asked me - if I had asked a specific question. ;)

Interestingly enough – we had some wonderful cross-over experiences. I will share what I wrote in my journal:

Today’s meditation was – emotional. For me, it started out with a pale green light (which is an extremely rare color for me to see!) There was a lot of pressure in my forehead and the buzzing and twitching that accompanied it seemed to “beat in time” with the strobe light in my inner vision. The color changed to blue, and I felt myself – my consciousness – above my head. Every part of me was tingling and the entire bed was vibrating (which Deborah later confirmed experiencing as well). Another interesting note – Deborah and I are both “cold meditators,” meaning we always get ice cold when we are in an altered state. Strange thing is – whenever we meditate together – we both get burning hot. ;)

Anyway – after the change in color of the Light to blue, I saw myself looking out of a window. I couldn’t see anything outside – it was dark, but I felt the coolness of the glass against my forehead and hands as I leaned against it.

Several snippets from other lifetimes appeared randomly – and I switched my focus to a triangle shape – and went immediately to Italy.

I was Nicoletta – and it was THAT day. The day I died. I could hear the bombs dropping. I could hear my Papa calling my name and my brother Luca’s name. He was calling for Mamma. The smoke was thick – there was dust and smoke in the air and I couldn’t breathe. I was scared – shaking – terrified as I huddled against a building, hands to my face to protect myself. I smelled burning – felt the fire on me. Burning my skin – my dress. Rubble and smoke surround me. I am crying – choking on the fumes.

I am aware of a change from within. I can feel – my heart center is so open. I feel so much sadness, grief beyond what can be expressed in written words. My solar plexus hurts – the physical pain is the emotion I am feeling.

This is where it gets even more interesting – at least in my opinion ;) For a while – I have been having memories of our house in Italy, through dreams, spontaneous flashes and meditations. I am seeing it not from the point of view of Nicoletta – but from the point of view of another little girl named Alessandra who was born over 20 years after Nicoletta died. I had not mentioned this to Deborah at the time – except to ask her if the names I remembered meant anything to her.

I did know that Lera had two small girl cousins – and she was much older than they were, closer to their mother’s age. However, I didn’t know how they were dressed or what they were wearing, and that proved another small validation for me. ;)

From my journal, a few months before the California trip:
I didn’t see the lady we were visiting clearly at first – I only remember her holding me on her lap when I was getting sleepy. She & Mamma were talking about my Boppa (Papa) going to secure travel out of Italy for us.

Mamma is talking to the lady. Mamma’s calling her “Valeria.” I turn my head up to look at her. She looks sad. She has teary eyes. She looks down at me and smiles – it is a real smile, but soft. She puts some cookies and milk on the table for us kids. I go over to her and tell her not to cry. I hug her – and she feels stiff.

We are playing by the tree in the front yard. Mamma and Boppa are not here – they have gone somewhere. Vittoria cried when they left – but I didn’t. I like it here and our cousin lets us run and climb trees. She has given us old dresses to wear – that are much too big and very old and worn. Mine is brown – kind of a heavy material. I am running in bare feet. I have something on my head that keeps my hair out of my face. Vita doesn’t like the dress – and she hates not wearing shoes. I look at my feet and wiggle my toes, feeling the earth below my feet. I run over to the side of the house. There are tomatoes on vines – and I pull one off and bite into it. It’s juicy and it dribbles down my chin and hands. I am giggling.

I am in the kitchen. I can see a piano – but it is closed and dusty. I feel hot and cranky. I am rubbing my eyes and calling for Mamma. Lera comes into the room and she smiles at me and says softly “You’re awake! Would you like to go for a walk with me?” She holds out her hand to me and I look at the ground. She says “Come along, tesserina mia (?)” I walk over to her and take her hand. She is talking to me softly, leading me to the grapes. I ask her “Where are Mamma and Boppa?” She tells me they have gone out on business to meet people for dinner. I ask her “Where are Vita and Gianni?” She tells me that they went to pick fruit to make a pie. I nod my head. Lera crouches beside me and points out into the field. She puts an arm around me and whispers softly to me “Look at all of the grapes, Alessandra.”
I have many more things to share from my earlier journals – including some great validations from that lifetime, but I will share those a bit later – I don’t want to get too far away from the meditation and the shared experience with Deborah. ;)

Back to our meditation:

Then – I am Alessandra. I am with Lera. We are on a small slope not far from the house. There are trees there and I am holding Lera’s hand. I know my sister Vittoria is with us, too, because I can hear my Mamma’s voice in the distance calling, “Valeria, don’t take the girls too far!” Lera is kind – she is gentle and she bends down to my level to point out something in the tree. I can see my hair fall over my shoulder. It’s not black – but more of a light brown that has little shimmers of red in the sun. I am wearing black Mary-Jane type shoes and short socks that are folded down and white. My dress is white with blue embroidery on the front and I can see a blue sash. Lera is wearing old boots that flop on her feet when she walks. She is also wearing a sweater that is old, worn and too large on her. The sleeve cuffs are rolled up a bit.
Then Lera is picking me up. It seems hard for her to do so. I put my hands on her collarbone and push myself back away from her. We simply stare at each other.

I also saw us arriving at Lera’s with our suitcases in hand. They looked similar to small briefcases.

Then I was in the hospital in Venice. Everything was white – cold and sterile. The bed was small, hard, and had side rails and scratchy white sheets. No one was in the room with me.
At this point – we were interrupted by ringing phones and banging doors – and decided to end the meditation. I will let Deborah tell you her experiences, and you can see from her post how we get our validations ;)

Aili :D

First I have to say -- Aili is an amazing young woman. She follows her heart, speaks to others with love and compassion, and shines from the inside out. It took no effort on my part to immediately recognize her honesty, her clarity, and the depth of her soul/spirit.

Sharing is an important component on the forum, and although hard to do sometimes, I cannot help but feel that it helps others to understand and validate their own experiences. So I will share from my point of view what I experienced.

I started the original "OM" CD in order to help us get into the meditation quickly. Which never seems to be a problem but it does heighten the awareness considerably. In silence I asked to help Aili and I heal from our past - and help us understand our connection. The meditation was filled with vibration, in fact it felt to me like the whole bed was shaking..such a strong vibration that I almost sat up and asked her if she felt it too - but instead continued on.

The light was pulsating in my inner vision, and many lives flashed before me, but nothing that stood out as important at the time. About half way into the meditation I felt myself going deeper and deeper, as if sinking....I heard bombs dropping and planes flying overhead. I ran for a closet to hide and protect myself...I had my hands over my head and my eyes forced shut in fear. I was aware of my situation....but the gift for me in the meditation was I experienced it from Aili's POV too. I could see her up against a wall, screaming for pappa, ash and flying debris everywhere. Fire...there was fire....

In the meditation I began to cry, tears softly running down my cheeks.

Then the time and place changed - it was only a few days after my family had been buried. I was standing looking at the gravestones. I read their names through my tears and could see them clearly Nicoletta, Luca, Pappa.....and I looked down to what I was holding. I was holding a necklace - the necklace Nicoletta had thrown on the table before they left for town. The trip I had refused to go on.

Several older woman had come to stay with me, I was then in the house - numb. I could see them but I could not hear them. It was as if I was submerged under water. One was doing the dishes, the other laundry. I wished they would just leave.

There was a time lapse - I was older and my uncle had come with his children and wife. They were very upper class and he was very successful. I wore my father's old boots in his memory, a knee length skirt and dirty apron; my hair was tied back into a scarf. Today it would be called grunge. LOLOL ....Of which I am prone too. ;)

Then I was outside with one of the little girls. She was so cute and I noticed she had black patton shoes on and a pretty dress. I was thinking that her mother was going to be mad because her shoes were getting dirty. I picked her up...and she didn't like that so much. Then I was pointing to the big tree and the view. Italy has the most beautiful sunshine, green rolling hills and the vineyard was full of red grapes and green leaves. She was a very curious young thing - and I felt especially fond of her. My family was buried close to that tree. I was not so old - only about 37, but I knew to this little girl, I was ancient.

Then the phone rang and the doors banged open and shut. My son came home not knowing we were meditating. It only lasted 30 minutes....but I can now see that part of my healing was to realize that Nicoletta had come back to me - in the same family. First she was my sister, and then my cousin. Now she is my friend. I even kid her about being my long lost adopted daughter...because I cannot help but love her.

Finding those we have loved and lost in a past life is a healing experience. It is also a gift - to be cherished. I feel very thankful to be able to share with her my memories, and blessed that she shares hers with me. Aili - you will someday be a wonderful teacher...and all your dreams - will come true. ;)

Wow, these are some really intense, vivid memories. Do these come to all of you through meditation mostly? I never seem to know how to meditate, or I can't sit still long enough to do it. Maybe there's some sort of trick to PLM that I'm not hip to? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Ailish, your signiture is from one of my favorite Sarah Mclachlan songs! (Lost in the darkness of our lives...

ain't it the truth)

Thanks for sharing, Aili and Deborah! What a deep soul moment!

Hey_Jude, I suggest you read through the Past Life Regression section. There are some good tips on how to meditate. In the end you only need a peaceful moment - it might take time to learn to really stop - but it's worth it, don't give up (even if the meditations wouldn't always lead to past life experiences). ;)

Karoliina

I am glad you enjoyed reading them. :D

Hey_Jude, this particular experience happened when doing a meditation. But it is not the only way to have memories. Some of my experiences are spontaneous -when awake and doing daily activities. Some come in dreams. Past life dreams can be very telling. In all three cases there is an altered state involved. Depending on how deep you go into the altered state - the experiences can be life altering.

Bottom-line - it's about going deep within yourself and experiencing you in the past.

Awww, thank you so much for your sweet, sweet words, Deborah – you know I love you, too. :D

And I just have to respond and say – that Deborah is the kindest, most compassionate, generous and loving person I have ever met. She is absolutely amazing – her heart shines in all she does. This beautiful woman reaches out – and changes lives all around her. (And I am quite happy -- and honored -- to be your long lost adopted daughter. : angel)

Doing any sort of past life work with Deborah is for me -- always a joy.

There was a wonderful opportunity on both sides for healing to take place. For me – it was very hard to hear about all my sister went through after we had died. Seeing Deborah cry – and hearing her speak with such profound emotion about those days after the burials – was extremely difficult. Hearing that she took my necklace with her – and was holding it in her hands at my grave – made me think of that last day and how childishly I had acted with her. I deeply regretted – the last words I said to her. I felt a sense of peace wash over me – knowing I could apologize to her NOW and release that emotion that had been held within. That was simply – a wonderful moment.

It was also very special for me to know that I had come back to my sister through our Uncle. Love truly does bring us together again with those who are special to us – sometimes in the most unimaginable ways.

I feel very thankful to be able to share with her my memories, and blessed that she shares hers with me.
And I feel very blessed to have you in my life again. Sharing memories is a wonderful gift – but it’s your friendship now I treasure beyond all else... :D

Aili - you will someday be a wonderful teacher...and all your dreams - will come true.
Thank you! I hope I will be -- as good a teacher as you are. And as for my dreams -- they already are! ;)

I’d also like to thank everyone who has taken the time to read through our thread and share your thoughts and comments with us. They are very much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Hey_Jude. Sarah McLachlan is one of my faves -- and the song "Home" holds a special significance for me right now. Always glad to meet another Sarah fan. :)

Aili

Wow, that is a sad story, but its very beautyful you two could find each other in the lifetime. Its so amazing :o . It muts be very hard to see your self dying:( .

I'm a Sarah McLachlan fan:thumbsup:

I don't understand what you told me, can u explain it to me better:o

About the photos, wow...you two look alike:eek:

Hi Thalia,

I mean that because I remember my little sister, and now I know she was reborn as my cousin, and then she returned as a very dear and close friend (Aili)...I am blessed. The sorrow and sadness of losing someone is over shadowed by the JOY of knowing that life continues and we will...meet those we care about again. Death is not the end...just a new beginning. ;)

Hi Thalia,

I think that Deborah means -- that it's important to realize that death is only one moment in the whole lifetime and there are many other wonderful moments to focus on -- to remember and to learn from.

It muts be very hard to see your self dying
Remembering the moment of your death can be traumatic -- and yes, it can be sad. But you need to keep a balanced perspective on it -- and know that by remembering it -- you are releasing the trauma and healing from the memory.

It is also difficult to remember and/or re-experience losing someone you love from a past life, but the knowledge that love brings us back to each other at some point makes the whole experience of remembering each lifetime very special -- imo.

It is a chance to heal -- to grow and to remember where you've been and focus on where you are headed........ ;)

I feel very blessed to have been brought back together with Deborah again in this life. Knowing about our shared lifetimes -- makes me smile and brings joy to my heart.

Aili :D

Wow what profound memories, thoughts and lessons. Death, that ominous event, cringes at our memories. Thanks for sharing yours!

the knowledge that love brings us back to each other at some point makes the whole experience of remembering each lifetime very special
Amen...

Thanks for sharing those amazing memories you two, please keep them coming.

You're so lucky, now you are together....again, making new memories for the future... ;)

It is really wonderful to read how your memories unfold, and how much validations you get from shared meditations ! Thank you for sharing, Deborah and Aili !

I am curious -- if any members have suggestions to make on a possible translation for words I heard in a meditation -- and in an instance of spontaneous recall.

I am in my Boppa’s arms – he is holding me and I am having trouble breathing. I can feel my chest rise and fall in shallow quick little breaths. Everything is blurry and I cannot keep my eyes open. My body is hot -- so hot I feel like my skin is burning. It hurts when Boppa touches me -- but I don't want him to stop. My eyes are heavy. "Boppa," I say. Boppa is telling me that he loves me – telling me that soon I will be an angel with God -- that I must be very special for the Father to call me home. I hear someone in the room – another man’s voice. He says my name in a sentence with something that sounds like “ess-tray-mah en-zee-owe-nee.” I hear Gianni’s voice – he is telling Boppa to please tell her before it's too late. Boppa says he can't. Gianni is saying, “Alessa, Alessa. Remember what I told you.”
I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!

Aili :D

Sorry Aili I have no idea... ;)

Just wanted to add a side note. I would be bursting with curiosity from not knowing what Gianni wanted Boppa to tell you... :D

I only have a smattering of Italian. Perhaps there is a real Italian speaker out there who might be able to help, but this is what I have managed to dig up with my limited knowledge.

Tessera means 'a token or a ticket'. '-ina' is a diminutive, as in Signora/Signorina and is often used to 'cute' things up in an affectionate way, particularly when talking to children.

"Tesserina mia" might be a term of endearment - like 'my little lucky ticket'. Presumably there is a family story behind that. It sounds like a little nickname of some sort. Italians are very fond of nick names, particularly if there is a funny story to go with them.

'Estrema' means 'extreme'.

There is no word "enzione", but it could be the end of a word as it is a common enough construction in Italian as it is in English to end a word with '-zione' like '-tion' in English

It could be something like - like 'intenzione' as in 'intention' or more likely 'attenzione' as in 'attention' - it could be part of something like 'Pay extremely close attention' - which would kind of make sense in the context you describe.

Something like: 'Ascolta mi con estrema attenzione' would be a common enough way to say 'listen to me very, very carefully' and I guess would stick in your mind!

Wow, thank you so much for your help, Tanguerra. :D I really appreciate your response - you've given me a few new things to mull over. "Pay extremely close attention," would definitely make sense within the context -- especially if the speaker was talking to my father.

VanH -- I am very curious to know what Boppa was supposed to tell me and what exactly Gianni wanted me to remember. But, I guess it will come when it's supposed to. A good lesson in patience for me : angel

Aili :D
Hi, "estrema unzione" is the rite performed by a priest on a person who is about to die.

 Wow Luca, that's awesome! Thank you so much for posting!

I'll have to look into it some more now :)

Aili :D

Tessera, or tesseri is also a piece or pieces of glass which make up a mosaic. And as tanguerra has stated, attenzione is used to draw attention to a possible danger. My Italian friends, while I was in Italy, would say such a thing to make sure I was aware of a root that could trip me while mushroom hunting, or when I was talking and about to cross a busy street. I noticed that it was used most often with children or someone ignorant of potential danger.

“ess-tray-mah en-zee-owe-nee.”
Also sounds a bit like 'estrazione' meaning drawing, pulling out ... of sorts.

Oddly, it sounds to me like latin. Est remant si oni... my latin is very rusty, but it could mean something like, he/she remains if her burden does. Jeeze, please somebody who is more up to date with latin, help me out here ... but it does have a latin sound to me. However, I think Luca has the closest and most probable conclusion.

Good fortune in your quest!

That's a good thought Luca. 'Extreme unction' (as it is known in English) would certainly fit the context!

Any idea about 'Tesserina mia' - other than perhaps some kind of cute nick name for a child?

well, my thought, for what it counts, is that with the usage of 'mia' there is the context of possessive (as you, tanguerra have suggested) and with the term applied to a child it more than likely is a familiar term. Whether it is a ticket or piece of mosaic (or something completely different) I think only Ailish can discern. Families have a way of choosing very odd things to use as terms of endearment. I would really like someone who has Italian as a first language to help out here. I am very curious, as I can see so many else are as well.

oops, i think i will butt out

I actually got out my Italian dictionary this morning, and realized my ignorance. Tesserae is plural for the mosaic pieces, not tesseri. My mistake.: angel And re-reading the posts, I see that tanguerra was directing her last question towards Luca. :o

I think at this point I will try to bow out gracefully, if that is even possible.

oops ... too late.

Awesome Aili! Thank you Luca for your translations - again. Very - very helpful and we appreciate it!

Archival - you can but in anywhere you please. It is a discussion forum after all -if people don't speak up - what's there to talk about? ;)

Thanks, Deborah! But I should have been paying closer attention to the profiles of those posting. Did not see that Luca is located in Rome until morning. I was multi-tasking, and to be honest, I was so wrapped up in the puzzle (love puzzles!) of deciphering that I did not put the attention into the thread that I should have. Lesson learned! :o Luca, my apologies, and esp. to you Ailish. I did enjoy the puzzle, though!: angel
